Freida has, once again, nailed it. These books always have me on the edge of my seat from start to finish and this was certainly no exception. The emotional manipulation here was top notch, and trust me, that's a GOOD thing for this novel!

As a massive fan of Freida McFadden, imagine my shock when I have been counting down the days for this book to release when I got the chance to read this book early thanks to the publishers and NetGalley. I delved into it and really enjoyed this book. Once I started reading, I couldn’t stop. Freida McFadden has such talent that she is able to captivate the readers with amazing writing, always a pleasure to read her books.
The Coworker is a fast paced read that has aspects of twists and turns, thriller and suspense follows Natalie who realises her strange coworker Dawn who is new is missing. Dawn is always on time, so Natalie finds this strange that she hasn’t turned up and is concerned for her. What has happened to her?
Throughout the book you will question each character and will either like or dislike them, they all have flaws. Told in two perspectives, the plot and overall layout was incredible and entertaining. As the book progresses so does the suspense and tension. A shocking but exciting that follows aspects of bullying and unexpected situations with plenty of twists and turns. Every time, I thought I knew where the plot was going, I was met with a twist that was fun to read.
I absolutely loved this book and couldn't have finished it any faster, the Coworker is such a fun and exciting book, the ending will shock yourself and other readers. Everything about this book was amazing and I would definitely recommend it to other book readers. Definitely added to my favourite books of 2023.
Thank you so much to NetGalley and the publisher Poisoned Pen Press for this exciting arc in exchange of an honest review.

Freida McFadden is an auto-buy author for me and the coworker is a great comeback from her earlier release this year Ward D. The plot twists were slightly predictable, but partially because I know McFadden is the queen of twists and it kept me up at night thinking about how her stories end. If you liked her other books such as locked door or the inmate I would highly recommend this book which will also be impossible to put down.
Thank you Poisoned Pen Press and Netgalley for an advanced copy in return for an honest review

I did wonder how McFadden would follow up after the brilliance of The Housemaid, but The Coworker doesn't disappoint.
Fast-paced, quirky, and with magnetic distinctive characters, she's done it again. I find her books difficult to put down, and this one was no different. Guessing the ending, even having read all her books to date, was yet again another challenge.
An easy 5 stars from me.

Two women. An office filled with secrets. One terrible crime that can’t be taken back. Dawn is strange. At least everyone at Vixed, the nutritional supplement company where Dawn works as an accountant. She never says the right thing, has no friends, and always at her desk at 8:45 am. So when she doesn’t show up to the office one morning, her coworker Natalie, is surprised. Natalie received an unsettling, anonymous phone call that changed everything. Natalie soon finds her self caught up in a twisted game of cat and mouse that leaves her wondering: who’s the real victim?
Omg. Freida does it again!! The writing is brilliant. Easy to read and follow however just when you think you’ve got it figured out, she throws a few twists that you ever saw coming. With dual POV is a nice difference to her other books that’s helps bring you closer to the characters. It gave it a nice bit of pizzazz. It made it hard to know who to trust and who to believe.

This book was awesomely fantastic, and the twists were incredible! Classic Freida style! Just when I thought I knew what was happening, I got hit with another slap to the face. I absolutely loved Dawn and all her quirks. What a perfect character! I think I have a new fascination with turtles now, too. I absolutely despised Natalie. I can't even elaborate on what I wanted to do to her. The ending sufficed, but my hatred for bullies wanted more vengeance. I'm keeping my fingers crossed that there will be a sequel to this book. There was an unresolved matter that needs to be wrapped up for me.
Thank you to the author, Poisoned Pen Press and NetGalley for granting me digital access in exchange for my honest review!

I can't for the life of me figure out how Freida keeps cranking out thrilling book after thrilling book, yet somehow, here we are! Yet another page turner!

I will start by saying that I have read several books by Freida McFadden, so when I received this eARC, I bumped it up my TBR list and devoured the entire book in a little over a day!! Freida did not disappoint!!
Very on-brand for Freida, this book is full of twists and turns! An interesting plot of a missing coworker. Characters that are well developed and interesting. This is a solid 4 star suspense that leaves you guessing until the end.
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️/5
Thank you to NetGalley, Freida McFadden and Poisoned Pen Press for this eARC in return for an honest review.

Quite predictable but managed to keep me entertained. About 30% into the book, I made note of all major plot points and twists I anticipated and it sort of became a game for me. I was so happy when each one showed up (except the ending…I was hoping that one wouldn't play out but the tone alluded to it early). This book is quite a simple read, the writing does carry a somewhat amateurish tone but the pacing is great and if you can get pass the predictability it's a good enough read.

Wow! I loved everything about this book! I love that I loved every character for different reasons and hated them the very next minute! This book got me hooked from the start and I had to know the twists that were waiting for me! Freida never disappoints!! I was unable to put this book down for very long.
I would like to thank #NetGalley #PoisonedPenPress and the author #FreidaMcFadden for my ARC in exchange for an honest review.

A real psychological thriller that kept me turning the pages late at night. Turns out there were no goog guys or gals. Not sureI loved the ending, but it did add another twist.

4.5 stars rounded to 5!
Wow, this was such a great read with a lot of twists and turns. A binge worthy thriller! All is not what it seems and just when I thought I knew what happened I was thrown another twist. Freida McFadden is quickly becoming a go to author for me, she does not disappoint!
Dawn has been an outcast her entire life with hardly any friends. She recently started working at a company called Vixed where she is an accountant. One day she doesn't show up for work and her coworker Natalie, who sits next to her, becomes worried since Dawn is never late. Natalie notices Dawns phone ringing in the office, she answers, and gets a strange message. It's clear something is going on with Dawn, but what? Did someone hate her enough to kill?
I really loved how the story was told and how fast paced it was. Also, the characters were very well written. That ending, was awesome!
Thanks Netgalley and Poisoned Pen Press for this ARC in exchange for my honest review.

I absolutely love Freida McFadden's writing style and I am always excited to read a new book from her because you just know you are going to be taken on a wild ride. The Coworker is no exception, bringing reader's along on a corporate-style mean girl feeling story, filled with twists (some that you will see coming and some that you definitely will not). Both FMC's, Dawn and Natalie, are such complex and interesting characters in such different ways. The reader is able to relate to both characters, feeling a sense of comradery for certain characteristics and then disliking them for others. I also love how Freida McFadden leaves little easter egg clues throughout the book, again some are more obvious than others, but my favourite thing is realizing much later in the book that a small detail you read many chapters previous was actually very very important. I think these are the kind of books that just get better with re-reads, as you can go back and see all the little bits and pieces that you might have missed the first time. Like the majority of her other books I have read, I was sucked in immediately and ended up binging this book all in one sitting, her words just do not let you go!! The Coworker is another entertaining, twisted thriller from Frieda McFadden that really makes the reader sit and think about some of their own choices and actions, while yes her books are extremely intriguing to read, they also reflect a lot of important topics back onto the reader.

Phew! Where do I begin with this one? I received an ARC of this book on Friday and was immediately excited because I was anxiously awaiting its release Tuesday. On Saturday I delved into it and man was it a great ride. The book starts off with Natalie realizing Dawn ( who is her coworker) is missing. Dawn is also punctual and when she doesn’t turn up for the day, Natalie is concerned. From here on, you will question every character in this book and realize there are two versions of stories being told. As the story develops, the book focuses on a heavy topic ( bullying), and shows how persons are even bullied in the work place . As usual with Freida novels, there is a twist to this story and the ending will have you shocked. This book was different from the thrillers she usually writes and I absolutely loved it. It’s the first time I’ve finished a book in one go. Hop, skip, run, but this book!

This is a twisty psychological story about co workers!
Via emails, we mostly get a sense of Dawn, a new employee at a medium sized vitamin supplement company . Dawn is clearly on the spectrum and is doing her best to fit in. The problem is, others may not be kind or welcoming to someone who is different. She writes to her best friend for advice but as most people tend to do, ignores it!
In true McFadden style, all is not what it seems and the adult bullying story contains plenty of twist and turns. This is a fun read and will certainly make you think about your own coworkers and your watercooler conversations! #poisonedpenpress #mcfadden #Freidamcfadden #thecoworker

Thanks to NetGalley, I received this ARC and finished it in 2 days. Binge worthy thriller. Of course Freida delivered a story that had me hooked from the first page and kept me engaged the whole way through. When I thought I knew the plot, an unexpected twist was presented.
The characters were very well built. I really enjoyed reading this psychological thriller.

Loved the office setting because every office work setting has a bunch of personalities, drama, and secrets. Like all of Freida’s books, it’s fast paced and easy to read. While the book ends with a twist, i felt that it wasn’t the usual suspenseful, exciting, shocking ending as her other books. Thank you NetGalley for the advance copy. I really enjoyed reading this book.

McFadden has done it again! Every time she releases a new book, I know it’s going to be a fun time! This was no exception.
The Coworker is a thrilling, fast paced and shocking gem of a book. The end of each chapter had me wanting to keep going to see what happens next. This story is a little different than I expected, in a GOOD way!
We follow Natalie as she tries to figure out what happened to her turtle-loving coworker, Dawn. Dawn is always punctual, so it’s very concerning to Natalie that she didn’t show up for work. What could have happened to her? Find out on August 29th!
I loved the way the story is told, the layout was really fun. Prepare to have your mind blown by all of the twists! I seriously didn’t see them coming!! Five GIANT stars from me!!
Thank you so much to Netgalley and Poisoned Pen Press for the ARC!

Dawn Schiff is strange. At least, everyone thinks so at Vixed, the nutritional supplement company where Dawn works as an accountant. She never says the right thing. She has no friends. And she is always at her desk at precisely 8:45am. So when Dawn doesn't show up to the office one morning, her coworker Natalie Farrell - beautiful, popular, top sales rep five years running is - surprised. Then she receives an unsettling, anonymous phone call that changes everything....
This story is told from Dawn and Natalie's perspectives. The two women are coworkers and flawed characters. Natalie Farrell's world falls apart when her coworker Dawn Schiff goes missing. She's also having to deal with a police officer who thinks that Natalie is the reason behind Dawn's disappearance. This is an intense and shocking read. The story is told in two parts, The first part is basically just character building and setting the scene for what's to follow. The second part, everything ramps up. I couldn't read it quick enough. Another thoroughly enjoyable read by the author.
I would like to thank #NetGalley #PoisonedPenPress and the author #FreidaMcFadden for my ARC in exchange for an honest review.

In a similar fashion to “The Housemaid”, Mcfadden has managed to keep me guessing until the 2nd half of the book and somehow tied all the loose ends nicely when you realise everyone has something to hide. Seth was quite a weak character not to have discovered Nathalie’s embezzlement or was it just him wanting to have something over her in future?
