Freida McFadden has done it again! If you’re wanting a fast-paced, page turner - THIS is the book for you.
This dual pov of two completely opposite main characters made this very interesting and fun to switch between. Dawn Schiff, an awkward and always on time employee, that is is OBSESSED with turtles. And I mean obsessed. Always shows up to work at 8:45am. On the dot. She’s never late to meetings, and never late to work.
But when she’s late one day, after sending an email to her boss and her coworker, her coworker Natalie Farrell starts to worry. Natalie is the opposite of Dawn. She’s popular, pretty, and knows how to talk to people. She’s the top salesperson at their nutritional supplement company, and is liked by a lot of people. Dawn’s desk is in the cubicle right next to Natalie’s, so when she doesn’t show for work, Natalie goes to her house to see if she’s ok. What Natalie finds is shocking and leads to an entire web of secrets. But it wasn’t Dawn, so where is she?
I BINGED this book in a day and simply could not put it down. Something about Freida’s writing, and the way she brings her stories together, has me wanting more and more every time. Her plot twists never fail and I didn’t see this one coming.
My overall rating is closer to a 4.25 and I would definitely recommend it to anyone that’s a fan of mystery/thriller, or even someone that’s new to the genre.

Synopsis: Dawn is a responsible organized, yet socially awkward employee. When Dawn doesn't show up to work one day, her coworker, Natalie, gets the feeling something is wrong. As Natalie moves on with her day, wondering where Dawn is, Natalie ends up in more trouble than she bargained for. This was not a typical Freida book! This was a cat-and-mouse chase, with some shocking twists. This wasn't as dark, or twisty as some of her past books, but it will still take you on a roller coaster of emotions. And just when you think you have the ending figured out....you don't.

Thank you to NetGalley and Poisoned Pen Press for letting me read this in exchange for my honest review. Freida has done it again!!! She is my favorite author and that will never change. Every book of hers I claim as my favorite, at least until she writes another one!! I will always highly recommend her books and it is torture waiting for the next one. Highly recommend just like all her others, 5 stars!!!

This may be my favorite Freida novel to date. I sat down with my monochromatic sandwich (wink, wink) and devoured it in one sitting. Freida really knows how to draw the reader in.
The secrets start rolling right from the beginning. Details start to finish, which gave me a perfect vision of the story space and characters. I kinda have a crush on Seth. My loyalty is still flipping between Dawn and Natalie. I just can't get over that ending, brilliant.
You would think after reading so many of Freida's novels, I would have learned to predict some of the plot twists. I absolutely believed I figured it all out. Nope. And even if you do get close, you'll question yourself over and over again.
This is an absolute must-read for any and all Psychological Thriller fans.
And if you aren't a Freida fan yet, you will be after this!
Freida McFadden, you are freaking Awesome‼️🤜🤛 5 stars!⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
I received an ARC of this book. Thank you, Netgalley and Freida McFadden, for the opportunity to read and review this title.

Freida McFadden has a talent for writing books that keep you locked in and guessing throughout. In this book, we meet Natalie Farrell whose world falls apart when her (kind of weird) co-worker Dawn Schiff goes missing. Suddenly, Natalie finds herself in the middle of a mystery and dealing with a cop who thinks she's the reason Dawn is missing. Did Natalie kill her? Should we believe Dawn's emails about how Natalie treated her? Or Natalie's account of what really happened? McFadden keeps the twists coming as always and, as usual, I guessed some of them but not all of them.
A huge thank you to the author and the publisher for providing an e-ARC via Netgalley. This does not affect my opinion regarding the book.

Freida McFadden does it again!
As someone who can constantly see where a thriller novel is heading and guess the endings, I’m telling you right now….. Freida is the queen of plot twists. She somehow always manages to think of something completely out of the box to wow readers.
The story starts with Natalie being very concerned that her coworker Dawn doesn’t show up for work one day. Dawn is an extremely predictable person and shows up and leaves at the same time everyday. When Dawn’s labelled as a missing person and Natalie tries digging deeper, she gets much more than she bargained for.
“The Coworker” was my third read by this author and I cannot wait to dive into her entire backlist. Thank you for an advanced copy of this book in exchange for my honest review!

I really enjoyed this book. But then again, I am a huge Frieda fan regardless! I love not being able to guess the ending. I kept thinking about who was the hero and who was the Villian. Thanks for the chance to read early!!

Another fast paced edge of your seat thriller by the amazing Freida. I was hooked from beginning to end. Twist after twist had my jaw dropping.
You’ll love and hate the characters, one who’s super strange while the other has queen bee mentality.
You won’t want to miss this one!

Oh My Gosh! I loved this book so much! I loved that twist and turns. I did think Dawn would still be alive, but I did not see Mia being the friend or the brother being in on it. I love that they fell in love. But I also knew that Nat was stealing the money. Over all this book is 5 Stars!!!

It was an easy read, couldn’t put the book down! This thriller keep me on the edge and could not put it down until I finished it. Another Freida favorite to the list.

Yet another twisty thriller from Freida McFadden! I was immediately pulled in this workplace storyline wondering what could have happened to Dawn. Dawn's character is without a doubt on the spectrum, she is obsessed with turtles and her social pragmatic difficulties impact her socially and professionally at work. The authors use of email correspondence between Dawn and an old friend, Mia certainly solidifies this!
When Dawn doesn't show up to work on time, her coworker Natalie is very worried. Natalie very quickly becomes a suspect as she has been accused of leading some workplace bullying and the twist and turns continue to unfurl! Who ultimately is responsible??
Thanks so much to NetGalley for allowing me to read and review this book pre-release!

Another 5 star Frieda McFadden book!! I read this in one sitting, I loved the characters, I loved the mystery, I loved the plot twists!! As per usual I thought I figured it out only to have my mind blown over and over again. Amazing!!!!

McFadden does it again!!! This is my favorite Freida novel to date. She really knows how to draw the reader in, keep them engaged, and have them willing to give up precious sleep and forego adult responsibilities just to keep turning those pages.
The secrets and mysteries start rolling right from the beginning. Your loyalty is constantly flipping between Dawn and Natalie. Who's telling the truth?! Who am I more mad at right now?! The suspense is almost torture. But in a good way.
You would think after reading so many of her novels you would learn to think differently to try and predict some of the plot twists. Well..... Good luck with that. Cause even if you do get close, it's the Hows and Whys that you can never seem to nail down. And boy oh boy are they TWISTY.
This is an Absolute Must-Read for any and all Psychological Thriller fans.
And if you aren't a Freida-Readah yet, you will be after this!
Stop reading this review and go read the book!!
Thank you SO much #NetGalley and #PoisonedPenPress for this delicious ARC in exchange for my honest review.

LOVE this book. Freida does it again! The whole entire time I was reading I was wondering what development was coming next. Her books are SUCH fast and easy reads because I can't put it down.

Freida's has once again done it with a must-read for fans of her psychological thrillers. Dawn Schiff is a turtle loving, awkward accountant with autism who works in an office filled with secrets. When she doesn’t show up for work, it sets off alarms as she is always on a specific schedule. From there it is Freida’s twists and turns that make for a fun, cat-and-mouse game in a completely toxic workplace with a bunch of unlikeable characters who you want to know more about. Would highly recommend.

The Coworker is a fast-paced thriller by Freida McFadden. Once you start reading, you are not going to want to put it down. There are lots of twists that will keep you guessing. I recommend this book to anyone who wants a quick, thrilling read. Should I be concerned that I have large turtle collection like one of the female main characters? IYKYK ;) Thank you to NetGalley and Poisoned Pen Press for the ARC.

Natalie’s coworker Dawn is just plain strange. Nothing wrong with that, but damn is she weird. Obsessed with turtles, and lives her day down to the second. So when it is 8:45 on the dot and Dawn isn’t at her desk, Natalie gets worried. When she goes to her house to check on her to find a massive amount of blood, Natalie calls the police but somehow ends up at the top of their suspect list.
So I have come to learn one important thing about Freida’s characters. You can’t trust a single one of them. Seriously, don’t trust anyone. As always, this book was a pick up and read all the way through. McFadden writes the most binge-able books, and if you need something to break you out of a slump, look no further than any of her reads! I loved this book and how everything came together and kept the twists coming. Now to wait for what she writes next!

This book kept me guessing - I kept thinking that it was predictable and then there would be a twist I didn't see coming! I waffled on my rating of this book throughout the time I was reading it, going from 3 to 4 to 5 stars and back to 4. I also most ended it with a 3 star review until the very last twist! I love Freida McFadden's books and I could picture myself in this story the whole time since I come from a corporate or business background. I highly recommend all Freida McFadden's books.

I was incredibly lucky to receive an ARC of this book! Freida McFadden has such a gift when it comes to writing, and creating plot twists at the end of each novel. This book definitely didn't disappoint! It had a different feel from some of her other books. The characters (Dawn in particular) were very interesting the way they were portrayed. Dawn was rather odd, but her character found a way to surprise you. I enjoyed the work place setting, it was also a different yet enjoyable vibe for a Freida book. I would definitely recommend this book to any thriller lover, who is a fan of big twists! Another 5 star read for me!

I’m a huge fan of all Freida McFadden books! And this one is right up there with my favorite! I was hooked right from the beginning. 5 stars across the board.
