I am fairly new to Ms. McFadden’s work having only read The Housemaid in the last few months. The CoWorker was very much in the same style of writing and very enjoyable for the same reasons—readability, plot development and suspense building. I really enjoyed the stereotypical coworker portrayals as we all can identify with them. There were plenty of twists and turns, some which I saw coming and some which surprised me. Her existing fans will be pleased with this as well as anyone reading her work for the first time. Thank you NetGalley and Poisoned Pen Press for providing me with an ARC to read and review.

Classic Freida McFadden! This was a super fast paced thriller that revolves around an office work place. Like most of her books this one is filled with twists and even when you think you have it all figured out there is another one. I read this quickly and really enjoyed it. Thanks to NetGalley for the ARC.

Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for allowing me to read this arc. Freida McFadden does it again! Just when you think you know what’s going on, you are not even close! A coworker name Dawn who is always on time is missing. Natalie knows there must be something wrong so she sets off to find out. But things get more confusing the more she looks. Dawn was being targeted by someone close to her. Another five star read!

“She’s a very dangerous woman. And nobody knows but me.”

2.5

This book felt like a hundred pages too long for me because of how slow it was. The big reveal didn’t really have that shock factor I was expecting. I think Dawn was in the Autism spectrum but that wasn’t confirmed nor denied in the book. Freida McFadden isn’t the best author to write anything about mental illnesses because I feel the way she portrays them does more harm than good.

Thank you Netgalley and Poisoned Pen Press for an ARC in exchange for an honest review

Thank you for giving me an ARC copy of Frieda's book. I love it so much! 5/5 stars for me.

This is not your typical thriller read. This is by far my favorite book of Freida. I cannot wait to read more of her books.

The plot twists and how the book ended got me hooked.

Well, I completely devoured this book. I could not put it down or tear my attention away from strange little Dawn with a considerably concerning turtle obsession.

Frieda has done it again and completely ensnared me in her story.

“No matter what, you can't let anyone know they've gotten to you. Because that's when they win.”

Freida does it again! This was probably favorite of hers I’ve read to date.

I really thought I had this one pegged, but low and behold here comes the twist and another and another. My jaw dropped open in shock of them. I devoured this book. I couldn’t look away.

This just goes to show how sneaky people are and do you really ever truly know someone?!

Thank you NetGalley and Freida McFadden for this awesome e-arc! I look so forward to the publishing of this book. It is going to be a hit! Be on the lookout for it. Release date is 8/8/23!

Highly recommend!

Freida does it again! Although I found myself annoyed with the characters in general, the story itself definitely kept my attention. I thought I had things figured out about halfway through….and I did, but not completely. I love this author and I love how she never fails to bring the twists and turns!

I devoured this book in a day and a half, I just could not put it down! If you aren’t a Freida Fangirl you should be, you won’t regret it!

“My life would be so much easier if I were a turtle.” Dawn is definitely one of those characters who you will either love or completely hate. She is a little different some might say. Dawn is always on time, down to the second, one day she doesn’t show up for work. Her coworker Natie sets out to find out why. Unfortunately for her, she is the number one suspect in this crime case.

This book has so many twist and turns that I did not see coming!

Thank you NetGalley for giving me this ARC opportunity!

This is the third McFadden book I've read. Though this book contains a couple of elements I do not generally enjoy, and the story and twists were somewhat predictable, I still found it to be a highly entertaining, fast-paced read.

The characters were not entirely likeable though they all garnered some sympathy, as well as disdain, along the way. I found the twists to be predictable but I enjoyed the way McFadden trickled in bits of the truth and facts. The ending was both satisfying and unsatisfying.

This may seem like a lukewarm review, but the bottom line is that I really did enjoy reading it and pretty much devoured it in hours. This is actually a book I would read again (a rarity for me, especially in the mystery/thriller genre) because I found the characters kind of fascinating in all of their dysfunctionality.

Many thanks to NetGalley and Poisoned Pen Press for an ARC in exchange for an honest review.

Missing, blood, murder, co workers.....and turtles? This book was an amazingly easy read with a plot that captivates you....eventually. I love FM and her fast paced edge of my seat boom, but this wasn't my favorite although it was very well done still. The storyline was a bit slower to capture me but when it did, I didn't want to stop reading! I easily read in a sitting, in true FM fashion. As an ASD momma I found Dawn's quirks endearing as I relate to those in my day to day life, while others found her odd....I wanted to talk turtles with her so she would find someone willing to listen. Natalie had me spinning....do I like her? Hate her? Feel bad for her? How do I feel???!! Overall the character development was well done and thought out. Thank you NetGalley for my ARC copy and chance to give a honest review

I really liked this book. I love the format of one of the perspectives being through email. I loved the character development as well. I was on my edge of my seat wondering which character was lying about how they were because it just didn’t add up. I thought I knew the twist but I was wrong. It was a really good twist! This book definitely made it into my top 5 Frieda books. I really want more books with the main characters.

I was super elated when I received a copy of The Coworker.

Many thanks to NetGalley and Poisoned Pen Press for sharing this thriller’s digital reviewer copy with me in exchange my honest reviews.

I devoured it in a day.

The story revolves around Natalie who is loved and adored by all until she isn't! When Natalie is arrested for her coworker's murder, the plot thickens and derails the story to unlikely plot twists.

The Coworker is a fast paced thriller with a lot of sensitive issues covered like suicide, cerebral palsy, and bullying.

Turtles have an important role as humans throughout the story. I still can't understand why Dawn is super obsessed with Turtles ;)

This is a classic Freida book - if you love her books you are going to love this one too. I love Freida's writing style especially because it keeps us entertained and shocked in the end.

Highly Recommend!

I am a huge fan of Freida and have read all of her books. This is another good one but not my favorite. It's a good story and it's apparent at the beginning that some people are lying! I wasn't sure where the story was going and who was good or bad. Or is everyone bad? I guessed a major plot point, which I never do...but then another major twist caught me completely off guard and saying "well done Freida!" I enjoyed this one. Thanks to Netgalley, the publishers and Freida McFadden for the ARC in exchange for my honest review.

Yet again, I have devoured another Freida McFadden book. This one wasn't my all-time favorite, but it was still a great read. This one seemed a little different than her normal writing, but still was fast-paced and compelling with enough twists that you never think you have it "figured out" for very long. A shocking ending, in true Freida form and a wonderfully-written thriller to add to your to-read list!

Thank you to NetGalley and Poisoned Pen Press for sharing this digital reviewer copy with me in exchange my honest thoughts.

Thank you to Freida McFadden and Poisoned Pen Press for the arc of the coworker. Freida is an amazing author that keeps you on your toes as a warning do not begin this book before you go to sleep you will not want to put it down. Dawn loves turtles a reference to Sheldon that Freida mentions. There are so many twist enjoy the book and try not to figure it out. The characters keeps you on your toes.

Frieda does it again! If you want an easy reader but with mind blowing moments this is the book for you. There are so many twists and turns that had my head spinning. I thought I had it figured out but then another plot twist came and I was back to square one. I have read all of Frieda’s books and I can say that this is in my top 3! Well done!

This was an amazing book. Like all of Freida’s books, I couldn’t put it down. Throughout the book you’re wondering if Natalie is this cold hearted monster or if there’s more to Dawn than meets the eye. (Of course with Freida, there’s always a secret third option) I’m proud to say, for the second time, I truly guessed one of the twists early on. However, there was still plenty of twists and turns that had me shocked. I’m thankful for my arc copy from poisoned pen press and NetGalley.

Another great book by Frieda! So happy to receive this ARC! She is the queen of the twisty reveals, and will look forward to whatever her next book will be.

I am a huge Freida fan. I've read all her books, and loved every moment. She never fails to surprise me.

So when I started this book, I got about 20% of the way in, when I messaged a fellow Freida Readah and was like, "Man. I don't know. This book isn't that good'.

Yeah, so I was wrong. I kept on, because not only did I have an obligation to the ARC, I just wanted to see it through and OH. MY. GOD. About 45% in I realized, I am SUPPOSED TO HATE THE MAIN CHARACTER.

Two women work in an office, one is very strange. And one is very popular. Perfect foils. So I'm just absolutely disgusted with the character and then there's a twist and I'm like this makes so much sense now.

In true Freida fashion, that ain't it, kid. She swaps POV to the other coworker., and it gets even crazier. I read this book faster than I've read anything in the past several months.

I am once again impressed by my favorite author, although I do have trouble reconciling the fact that the pleasant, funny woman we interact with on Facebook has a head filled with such dark, twisty thoughts!

Highly recommend this book, as all the others, and now I have a weird feeling about turtles.
