jumping on the ‘readers obsessed with Frieda McFadden’ club! so happy to finally be here!!

literally everybody and their mother has been talking about the housemaid/the housemaids secret and i just haven’t gotten around to reading them. is it because i was scared that they were going to ruin my life? because i couldn’t find them at any book store? all of the above? probably.

i thought i had cracked the code with this book. first two chapters and i was confident i knew who the murderer was. WRONG!!!
the plot twist had me gasping out loud. i considered ditching all plans made and skipping dinner to finish this book. it was fast paced and had somewhat unreliable narrators which i loved. 10/10 will be recommending this to all my coworkers and my mum. gonna be picking up every other book frieda has out there and forgetting all my plans for the week!!!

thank you to netgalley and Poisoned Pen Press for an e-arc of this book!

I LOVE Freida's books and was stoked to be approved for this! The creepy factor on a scale of 1-10 is an 11. It will definetly make you pause before you think about being snarky with a co-worker!

This was a pretty good thriller ! I love freidas writing but this one wasn’t the best of the best that I’ve read from her !

This is a solid 4.5 psych thrillers, twists galore, though i guessed the first one. Two very different women, work at a vitamin company. One pretty popular successful, the other "weird" rigid obsessive, no social skills. Do they become friends, is one a bully and one a victim. What happens when one disappears and is murdered. Is anyone innocent?

Freida does it again!!!

There is one thing I can be certain of in life...I will never correctly guess the plot twist of a Freida McFadden book.

I was very excited to dive into this book as I have read all of Freidas books and not a single one has disappointed me. The Coworker was a very fast read for me, it is one of those books that force you to keep reading so you can see what happens next. I knew I had to get to Part Two so I can see what twist Freida had in store for us this time and boy was I surprised! I love the style of Freidas writing and how she keeps you engaged by forcing you to question the motives of every character. I highly recommend this latest novel of hers and am excited to see what the future holds for us Freida McReadahs!

Special thank you to NetGalley and Poisoned Pen Press for offering me the opportunity to read and review this gem.

I always go into a Freida book hoping I will figure out the plot twist for once. I just knew I had it figured out this time. Was I right? No, no I was not! I'm not going to give away any spoilers but just remember people are not always as they seem to be. Be careful who you take sides with in this one! Could the good girl really be good? Could the bad girl be both bad and good? You will just have to find out for yourself but you will be stunned in the end!

When I first started reading this book I was not sure I would like it because it is an office setting at first BUT then the first twist happens and I could not put it down. What a roller coaster of emotions. At one point I felt extremely sad for one character and then was hit in the face with another plot twist.
Natalie seems like the mean girl in adulthood and Dawn is the nerdy girl no one really likes or so we think!? Freida did a stellar job at this novel and tied every single loose end I could think of during the entire story.

I love everything Freida McFadden writes and The Coworker is no exception! It had me hooked from page one. There are so many twists and turns - I couldn’t put it down! There’s nothing I love more than an unreliable narrator and Freida McFadden does it so well. Add in some good old fashioned workplace drama & a missing person and you have the recipe for an amazing book. I didn’t know who to trust and I had no idea what was going to happen next. I was hooked and I read it in one sitting! Another great page turner from my thriller queen!

It has been a ling time since I couldn’t wait for a book to be over to find out what happened but then never want it to end because nothing could give me that feeling. Dawn a socially awkward woman goes missing and her co worker Natalie is a suspect. Natalie was mean, a diva, and a bully to Dawn but did that mean that she did something to her? Dawn also knew that Natalie was stealing from her company. Add to that some fingerprints at Dawns house and blood, and an unidentified body and the cops breathing down her neck and Natalie is looking like she is going down! Or is she!

As in true Freida style she got us again with a wonderful twisted story. This one was really thought-provoking, I feel moreso then some of her others. Of course I figured out bits and pieces but as usual she throws you a curve ball here and there to make sure to surprise the heck out of you at the end! Can't wait for her next one!

I was fortunate to receive an ARC copy from Netgalley and Poisoned Pen Press. Whoa…ok…this book definitely does not disappoint! Dawn and Natalie work together, do they really know each other? Well, it’s Freida, so the whole story I had no clue what was going to happen next. This book was definitely unputdownable! Thank you once again Freida McFadden for a fantastic read!!!

If you aren’t a Freida Readah, you don’t even know what you are missing out on! All Freida books are fast paced, easy to read, and you never see the twist coming. This books did not disappoint! This story follows a woman who discovers that her coworker is missing. The main character works to figure out who could have done this as suspicion keeps turning toward her. I really thought I had it and knew exactly what was going on and then there were about 10 twists I couldn’t have seen coming. The voice of this book is so conversation and easy to read and get sucked into. Oh also 🐢 (if you know, you know! Read the book to find out!) Overall another 5 start read from Freida! Don’t miss this one, releasing August 29th!

Just when I think I have a favorite Freida book she releases a new one that’s even better than her last! This book was fast paced, fun, and filled with all of the usual twists! I especially loved the way she ended this one making you question everything!

Freida has done it again! This book (as usual) kept me guessing until the very end. Without giving too much away, I liked how the book was setup and kept me wanting to read more each night to know what happened. I finished it in two days!

Freida has done it again with this one. It will no doubt be an absolute hit.

What happens when your quirky coworker goes missing? Who is at fault? What secrets is everyone keeping?!

Captivated from beginning to end and completely satisfied with this ending. Twist after twist and so many questions that get tied up neatly with a little bow!

Frieda writing never fails to keep me engulfed in her novels but this one was a 5 star read.

Another good one by Freida! The Coworker is a thriller that starts out with a woman named Dawn, who has a schedule you can rely on like clockwork, not showing up for work one day. Her coworker, Natalie, knows it means something is amiss and the plot is really set into motion when Natalie goes to investigate Dawn's unusual absence. This leads to several surprises, twists, and suspense.

As always, I really like Freida's writing style. It flows well and holds my attention, even when my brain is feeling a little scrambled by stress. The plot of this book was intriguing. It had a few predictable spots, but there were also several twists I didn't see coming! The story was perfectly paced. It moved fast and kept you interested. I hate when books have what, in my opinion, is an unsatisfying ending and this one was NOT an ending to hate. It wrapped up nicely and all my questions were answered.

It was clear pretty early on that Dawn is neurodivergent. I love that. I related to a lot of her ways of thinking and the way she acts. Her obsession with turtles was mentioned a lot, but it didn't bother me. Maybe that's because I also love turtles. None of the characters in this book were actually very likable, for different reasons. Their likability wasn't a deterrent to finishing the book though.

Overall, this is definitely worth a read if you want a fast-paced thriller with twists right up until the end!

Huge thank you to NetGalley and Poisoned Pen Press for providing this ARC!

I loved it! I thought I had it figured out a couple of times but I was wrong lol… so many unexpected twists! There’s not a whole lot I can say that won’t completely give the plot away but if you like Freida’s other books you will love this! She has such a way of making you care for such despicable people lol 😂 and I will forever think of this book every time I see a turtle lol…

Thanks to the author, the publisher, and NetGalley for an advance copy!

I was lucky enough to get an ARC of this book and really liked it. However, I didn't feel it was on of Freida's best. I didn't really care for the running theme of turtles. I felt it was just information the reader didn't need. I could have done without that. That being said, I will continue to read anything this lady writes. She has a way of pulling you in and surprising you at the end.

“She may be dangerous. But so am I.”

Freida has done it again with another fast past thriller!! It was the perfect amount of suspense and questioning.

Highly recommend!

I've been a Freda fan since I read Do Not Disturb late last year. Since then, I have been addicted to her books! This one kept my on the edge of my seat, and once I got into it, I couldn't put it down! If you're a fan of her other books, you'll like this one just as much! Definitely worth it.
