As always, Freida McFadden created a masterpiece. Her books are fast-paced, interesting, and easy to follow!
Natalie is the coworker that everyone loves to hate. She is beautiful, great at her job, and almost everyone likes her. Well almost everyone. Dawn on the other hand, is weird. At least that's what everyone says. When Dawn goes missing Natalie becomes the main suspect.

Thank you to Netgalley, Poisoned Pen Press for an opportunity to read an advanced copy of this book to be published 08/29/23. Freida has done it again!! Loved it! I was hooked from the very first chapter. So many twists and turns… You don’t want to miss this fast - paced addictive thriller!

This book completely deserves five full beaming stars!
Dawn Schiff is a new girl at the office. She’s weird, she brushes everyone up the wrong way (unbeknownst to her) and has a rather unhealthy obsession with turtles.
Dawn is always on time to the millisecond, so when she doesn’t turn up for work one day with no call to the boss her coworker Natalie Farrell is quite worried!
This novel was super relatable with a ‘mean girls’ vibe that takes you right back to high school! And, anyone who has ever worked in an office full of females knows what I mean too!
One thing I found myself asking while reading this book was “who is the victim and who is the bad guy?”.
The bullied? The bully? The bystanders?…
Anyway, I digress. The famous ‘Freida twists’ and her fast paced , easily readable writing did not disappoint!
The plot queen has done it yet again with this awesome book! I was ecstatic to find I’d been accepted to be a first reader before publishing! This is one book I have been anxiously waiting for! It’s up there in my top three. Easily!

I am so thankful to have the opportunity to read this ARC! As always, Freida kept me going down a crazy roller coaster ride with this one! I could barely put it down and read it in 1 day. Love the short chapters and easiness her books provide for me. They always keep my coming back. This book had a very good lesson in it which is to always be kind to others. Even if they are different. And I appreciate that because there is sometimes not enough kindness is the world.

I really enjoyed this book. Lots of unexpected twists and turns. Kept me up way too late. Highly recommend.

Thank you to Freida McFadden and Poisoned Pen Press for the an ARC in exchange for an honest review.
Once again Freida got me again with all of the twists and turns and I was flipping pages quickly thinking, just one more chapter. That turned into me reading this book in one sitting.
I don't want to give away absolutely any spoilers for this one but in this author's true fashion she took me on an interesting, entertaining and suspenseful read that I really enjoyed. The character development in this was top notch.
If you are a fan of Freida you will NOT be disappointed with this one.

Whew this one was twistyyy and I devoured it so quickly! Felt like I had it figured out so many times & I didn’t. A great story about how we don’t always know the full story, even when we’re given multiple perspectives. I enjoyed the e-mail format along with present day dialogue. Felt like there could’ve been more in the ending. Was kinda left wanting more…
Thank you so much to Freida McFadden, NetGalley, and the publisher for allowing me to read this ahead of its publication!

***** I received this book as a free ARC from NetGalley in exchange for my honest review.
Freida McFadden is one of my all time favorite authors. This story takes bullying and revenge to new levels. I liked how she created characters who were “different”. I felt that Dawn could have possibly had Autism. Freida always has a few twists.

This story follows four main character/coworkers: Natalie (the popular blonde in the office who is a top saleswoman for their pharmaceutical company), Dawn (the accountant for the company who is a little odd in many ways and shares a cubicle with Natalie), Caleb (the part-time computer programmer who is dating Natalie), and Seth (the manager of the office). When Dawn goes missing and the police start investigating the others in the office, who will be the one to take the fall for Dawn’s murder?
I really enjoyed this story, it kept me engaged and dying to know what the heck was the truth at the end. I hated every single character and wasn’t attached to anyone. I didn’t see some of the plot twists coming, but others I did figure out.

I was lucky enough to score an ARC of The Coworker by our queen and savior Freida McFadden. Let me just start this review off by saying WHAT!!?!
The twists! The turns! The red herrings! The big reveal! I was so genuinely invested in this story that I caught myself crying on more than one occasion. Let me sum it up for you:
Dawn Schiff likes turtles. I mean she REALLY likes turtles. Enough that she has a problem making friends because of it. But in addition to her love of those shelled little buddies, she also loves routine. Which is why her coworker Natalie is shocked when Dawn doesn't show up for work. She decides to head over to Dawn's house but what she finds will leave you (shell) shocked!
Another ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ 5 star read from Freida and I'm so thankful I was able to read it in advance!
Publication date is August 29th, don't forget to pre-order!

Dawn and Natalie are very different but work next to each other at a nutrition company. Dawn is an accountant who is obsessed with turtles, dresses dowdy and is awkward in social situations. Natalie is in sales and is beautiful and outgoing. Dawn is very prompt and arrives and leaves work at the exact same time everyday so Natalie is concerned when she doesn't show up for work. She becomes more concerned when Dawn's office phone rings and she receives a ominous message from someone that sounds like Dawn. As Natalie searches for Dawn, she becomes a suspect in Dawn's disappearance. In alternating chapters we read letters Dawn wrote to a friend. Some of the letters are too long. Other than that the story kept me guessing how this mystery was going to end and it was something I never would have predicted.

Freida McFadden never disappoints! For fans of The Housemaid and Housemaids Secret, this book is for you. Just when I thought I had it all figured out, I was wrong. I loved the unexpected twists and turns of this book!

I was elated to be selected to read the ARC from NetGalley and Poisoned Pen Press. This would be a good read for older students.
Freida McFadden is becoming my favourite author. Her novels are usually quick, easy and entertaining reads and this did not disappoint. Slowly new facts are introduced with the main character, Natalie's, viewpoint and letters written by her coworker, Dawn. While I am not easily surprised, I could appreciate the author's efforts even if it didn't blow me away. It was an unraveling reveal vs. a slam dunk easy solve. It was very enjoyable and I would recommend.

Dear Lord the Prologue of this Book had me Hook, Line and Sinker!!!!

I’m a huge Freida fan, so to say I was excited when I was given access to this arc was an understatement. I have been anxiously anticipating this book for months and could not wait to get my hands on it! Like most of Freidas books, this was a one sitting read for me. It was quirky, suspenseful, and in true Freida style, so many twists you don’t see coming. It grabbed my attention immediately and I didn’t put it down until I was finished! It was turtly awesome 😜

Thank you to Netgalley and Poisened Pen Press for granting access to the advanced reader copy of this book by Frieda Mcfadden..
I am already a fan of Frieda Mcfaddens work and this novel did not disappoint. So if you are a Mcfan I definitely recommend adding this to your TBR.
The story follows two women, Dawn, a slightly eccentric newly hired accountant, and Natalie, a mean girl salesperson who are coworkers. It also follows two timeliness, Dawn's emails starting 9 months ago, and Natalie's current experiences. Together they build a picture of their complicated relationship.
The prose leads you to question motives, intent and morals behind each character and builds to an interesting and twisty conclusion.
I thoroughly enjoyed the journey, I found this book engaging and gripping and I would recommend to all thriller lovers.

Got an ARC and read it in one day. Really in eight hours! Mind blown!!!!! Possibly, Freida’s best. Great characters and really captures office politics and cliques. Sooo good!!!!

I devoured "The Maid" last week and when I saw "The Coworker" available to reuqest I was really excited. Freida McFadden writes thrilling pageturners with a bunch of unforseen twists.
I really enjoyed this thriller of hers as well even though the characters were so unlikeable, they fit their roles and made the story as interesting as it was, they added drama and suspense and I never knew if I should feel sorry for them or not.
Some twists (including the "big" one) I could guess earlier on but they were still executed well and it didn't stop me from reading.
The ending was a bit "too good" for my taste and I had trouble getting into the story in the first chapters, so that is why it's only going to be 4 stars from me.

Freida did it again! What an amazing book with a twist at the end ! Had me on edge every page ! Another great thriller with workplace trauma and bullies. If you’re looking for a thriller page turner this is it !

I’ve said before that when reading Freida McFadden’s psychological thrillers, I just have to let myself give into the craziness of it all. This new book of hers didn’t waste any time and jumped right into the mystery and suspense. The plot of this one intrigued me from the beginning. Natalie and Dawn are coworkers and cubicle neighbors at a nutritional supplement company. Natalie is the top sales rep and loved by everyone, while Dawn is a quirky, turtle loving, sensory sensitive accountant who doesn’t have any friends. Natalie is concerned when Dawn doesn’t show up for work one day, and she quickly gets wrapped up in a whirlwind murder mystery that nobody saw coming.
Freida’s writing style is very different from other books I’ve read lately and was a little jarring at first. It is basically just a stream of consciousness from the alternating perspective of the characters. It’s more matter of fact and to the point, and she doesn’t waste any words. I’ve learned from reading her books that everything she writes is purposeful and helps to either drive or distract from the suspense. I’ve also learned not to trust anyone. This book was full of unreliable characters and red flags. While reading I was trying to figure out who was responsible and what to believe, which is really hard when all of the characters are somewhat suspicious and have conflicting viewpoints! I’ll admit that I saw the first twist coming from a mile away, but the second one definitely surprised me. I did anticipate the third one somewhat, since I’ve learned her writing style and how she likes to end her stories.
Overall, not my favorite book of hers (The Housemaid is still #1!) but the short and fast-paced chapters had me convincing myself to read just one more, over and over and over again. It definitely held my interest and I’ll never think about turtles the same way again.
Thanks to NetGalley for providing this ARC in exchange for my review!
