What a clever story! I was able to guess some of the plot points, though not all. It was intricate and nicely done. My only complaint was that the characters were so unlikable--though, that is what makes the story really work!

I love Freida McFadden. I can always count on her books to be fast paced page-turners and this one was no different. I read this one quickly but there were some parts I felt were unnecessary and I skimmed through. I guessed the twist fairly early but it was still enjoyable. The ending didn’t do it for me though. I’m not sure what I wanted but it wasn’t that ending.

I have never read a book by Freida McFadden until The Coworker. I will now be reading every book by Freida McFadden.
Aside from all the technical things, it’s written, well, it reads quickly, it reads easily, the story hooks you from page one… this book was incredible. The way the storyline was woven into and between Natalie‘s life, and Dan’s life was so well done. The storyline itself was unique, and I didn’t see it coming. And although we figured out “who done it“ several chapters before the end of the book, there were still so many twists and turns before we got to the end. And the way everyone lived their lives after they all figured out how they were involved? Oh, my gosh!
I can’t wait to read every other book by this author, and by the way, I think The Coworker would make an excellent movie!

I cannot BELIEVE how quickly I read The Coworker by Frieda McFadden. Excellently written and captivating characters. You do NOT want to miss these twists and turns!

Fantastic plot, well written, and twists all the way up to the last page! I could never tell who I should be rooting for and who to believe - loved it!

I thought The Coworker was an excellent book. It was the perfect who done it. The story revolved around Dawn, who was an accountant at Vixed, a supplement company, and Natalie who was a sales rep. Dawn was obsessed with turtles and she had a way about her that was obnoxious to others. She had no friends to speak of, but she wrote constant emails to her best friend, Mia, who has cerebral palsy. All she wanted was for Natalie to like her. She went out of her way to be nice to her, but Natalie rebuked her at every turn.
Natalie hooked up with Caleb, but she was sleeping with her boss, Seth. Dawn notice discrepancies in the books and came to realize that Natalie had been stealing money from the company. So she sent Natalie an urgent email requesting that she meet up with her after work. But when Natalie went to see Dawn after work she was not in her cubicle. Caleb had a date with Natalie that night and he went to her house but left at 9:30. Dawn was very set in her ways and was always, always in the office by 8:45 in the morning. Natalie went to her cubicle the next morning but Dawn wasn't there. She waited for her for an hour and she still didn't show up. Dawn had a meeting with Seth that day for 2:00 during which she was going to tell him about the missing funds. Natalie was very concerned about Dawn. When she didn't show up after several hours, Natalie went to Seth about it. Seth told her that he had a meeting with her at 2:00 but she didn't show up for the meeting either. Because Natalie was so concerned, she went by Dawn's house. No one seemed to be home so she went around to the back door and found it open. When she went into the house, she found a huge blood stain on the living room floor so she called the police. Detective Santoro asked her several questions and let her go.
As the detective went through Dawn's house He found Natalie's fingerprints everywhere. He also found incriminating emails that Dawn had written to Mia. In the emails he learned that Natalie was sleeping with Seth and that she had been a bully to Dawn. He also learned about the discrepancy in funds that Natalie allegedly stole. And then they got a search warrant for Natalie's house and car and found Dawn's hair and blood in her trunk. Eventually she was arrested for murder. During all this time, Natalie had coordinated an annual 5K run in honor of her friend Amelia for cerebral palsy. She was arrested at the run. Eventually, detective Santoro found a body and assumed it was Dawn's.
As it turns out, Amelia was actually Mia, Dawn's best friend. It seems that Dawn and Natalie had gone to the same high school. Natalie and her friend Tara had played a dirty trick on Mia and sent love notes to her from a guy named George that Mia had a crush on. When Mia approached George he told her He hadn't written the love notes and that he had no interest in her. 2 days later she committed suicide. Dawn accused Natalie of causing the suicide and she never forgave her.
Dawn had actually faked her death with the help of Seth. You see, Seth was Mia's brother and he and Dawn were in love. Together they set Natalie up with the hopes that she would go to prison for the rest of her life. Detective Santoro had run DNA and learned that the body they found was not that of Dawn. It was actually Tara. So bail was set for Natalie and Seth paid it.
The rest of the book was about what happened to Dawn, Caleb, Natalie and Seth. It had my interest from the very beginning and I had difficulty putting it down. The characters were very well developed in the storyline was easy to follow. I gave it five stars.

I enjoyed this book! It was fast paced and had lots of twists and turns I didn't see coming. When I first started reading, I was hooked but had no idea where the story would go. I love reading books like this! Great ending too. Would recommend!

Another hit by McFadden! All throughout this book I never knew what was going to happen next. Not many authors can do that and keep the pace!
Natalie comes into work to find a coworker missing and takes it upon herself to try and find her. Said coworker cannot be reached via text or phone call and sets off a chain of events like you wouldn’t expect. This book throws you into a world of business relationships with huge twists and turns. It will have you on the edge of your seat ready to see what happens next.

Freida McFadden is one of those authors who can write a super entertaining thriller and that is exactly what this was. I enjoyed the suspense and the twists!

Her books are amazing and this one definitely did not disappoint. I didn't expect everything I got in this book just looking at the cover and description. It was so real and the characters were so raw. They didn't feel one dimensional. They reminded me of so many people I've met in real life. I quickly devoured this book and I can't wait for her next one.

After reading The Housewife and The Housewives Secret, I was really excited to read another Freida McFadden. While I enjoy her writing style and these are quick reads, I did find this one to be a little far-fetched at times. The turtle story line also had me feeling like it was a bit ridiculous. Overall, it was a quick, easy read and I do think Freida McFadden fans will still enjoy it.

This book is by far one of my new favorites by Freida. She really knows how to make you think you know what's happening and you are always wrong!

This my THIRD Freida McFadden book this month. Needless to say I jumped up and down when I selected for this ARC.
All of Freida’s books have twists and turns and you think you know where the book is going and you have it all figured out and she laughs at us because we have NO IDEA. She did it again, this book is no different. Every twist had my jaw on the floor and I would say out loud “noooooo” “wtffffffffff!”. READ THIS BOOK!

Really enjoyed this book! Another great book from Frieda!! The twist I did not see coming….she always lets you think you’ve got it up until the last moment and BOOM surprise!

I have enjoyed all of the Lovely Mrs. McFaddens books. This one was hard for me to get into and stay invested in. I tried about three or four times this book just wasn’t for me. I appreciate having the opportunity to read this book. I’m going to give it 3/5 as I did not finish it.

Wow! Another GREAT READ from Freida McFadden!
We all have that one coworker who is a little off, a little different. But when Natalie's coworker, Dawn, goes missing, suspicion turns to her! Can Natalie prove her innocence before she is sentenced to life in prison for a crime she didn't commit? Or did she......
This was a quick read for me, as I love Freida's writing style, and the twist at the end really surprised me! Overall, I thought this was one of her better titles with well developed characters and storyline.
Thank you to NetGalley and Poisoned Pen Press for my advanced copy in exchange for an honest review. All opinions are my own

This was such a good read. It was a fast read, one sitting.
It's full of twists and turns. I love how Freida details all the characters. She details each one in depth. I love that I can't figure out the ending until the end. She is a phenomenal author. You will love this book! I've already referred this book to so many people. Just read it!

After hearing from many people how awesome this author is, I requested this newest book from Freida McFadden.
The books follows Dawn Schiff, accountant at the Vixen, nutritional supplement company and her coworker Natalie Farrell, top sales rep at the same company. When Dawn does not show up for work one day, Natalie is drawn into the disappearance.
I had a hard time rating this book.
I gave it 4 stars for the story: This book was fast paced and had lots of twists and turns, which I loved. There were some plot twists I did not see coming and it kept the story interesting and kept me reading.
However I gave it 2 stars for the way the characters were handled. The further I got into the story the clearer it became to me that Dawn was autistic and this explained the awkward and “weird” behaviors. The way this was handled in the book did not sit well with me, it did not feel right and took me out of the story.
Overall I gave it a 3 star and I believe that it was a good thriller with interesting twists and turns, however if you are bothered by the portrayal of autistic main characters as weird and strange, I recommend not reading this.
I am interested in reading more books of this author, since I like the writing style and twists and turns of the story and I hope that the main characters in the other stories will be different.
Thank you NetGalley for providing me with the Advanced Reader Copy!

I read this in under 12 hours, I could not put it down! This is my Freida McFadden book but it will not be my last!
Dawn is awkward but always prompt. She follows the same exact schedule every day and she absolutely loves turtles! Natalie is the top sales rep at the company they work at and the only thing they have in common is their desks are right next to each other. One morning, Dawn does not show up to work, and Natalie is worried. Through twists and turns I didn't see coming, Natalie is framed for Dawns murder but the suspense doesn't stop there.

I probably read this in under 24 hours. A tale of a strange coworker who goes missing. Very creative. Very eerie.
