I like to read Frieda McFadden’s thrillers because they are quick, easy, simple reads. Sure- there are some plot holes but they also hold my attention. This one is no different. What happens when you cross a popular, mean girl with a quirky, odd, on the spectrum type co-worker? Possibly some bullying, but in this book, it also turns into a murder case. Embezzlement, affairs, and lies upon lies are in the work environment at this business….it is hard to figure out who the good guy and who the bad guy is.

Freida McFadden is quickly becoming a favorite of mine, and this book has sealed the deal! A fast paced story where you just don't know who to believe, The Coworker had me reading well into the night to finish!
Thank you to Netgalley for the prerelease ebook!

Thanks to NetGalley and the publisher for an ARC in exchange for an honest review.
3.5 stars
Natalie is the star sales person at a nutritional supplement company. Dawn is the new accountant who sits next to Natalie. Dawn is very punctual and when she is late for work, and then Natalie gets a scary phone call, Natalie gets worried. Details of the two women’s interactions over the past year make you wonder what led up to Dawn’s disappearance.
Quick thriller with several twists. Enjoyable but I did have some frustration as this ARC had a fair amount of editing issues, especially in email exchanges.

If you are looking for a page turner you can read in one sitting - say on a 5 hour plane ride, this is the perfect suspense novel. An easy read that hooks you in from the first page and keeps you guessing until the end.

Dawn is…well, she is odd. When she doesn’t show up to her job as an accountant at Vixed at her designated 8:45am, her co-worker, Natalie, is concerned. You can set your watch by Dawn, so it is very out of character for her to be late. When Natalie goes by Dawn’s house to check on her, she is immediately weirded out by the massive collection of turtles. She is then horrified to discover blood all over the floor. She quickly becomes the number one suspect in Dawn’s disappearance. She swears she didn’t do anything to Dawn. So many secrets….
I love Freida McFadden. Her writing is just easy and engaging. This one isn’t as twisted as many of her other books, but still an enjoyable read. I have known and worked with many people like Dawn, so I enjoyed the quirkiness of her character. Thank you to NetGalley for the advanced copy of this book!

Fast pace and thrilling and kept me on the edge of my seat. Just when I thought I had the twists figured out another curveball is thrown. It truly had me guessing (and gasping) until the last sentence. Frieda is the thriller queen!

4 stars
McFadden is definitely becoming a master of her craft. This book is just another of her twisty turny thrillers. She is making herself a force to be reckoned with in the genre!
The Coworker is probably my favorite to date.

I love that there’s always going to be some sort of twist I didn’t see coming in a Freida McFadden book! The characters are so real, in that they’re flawed, but also, the narrator may be unreliable, so it’s fun to read, trying to figure out who is lying.

The CoWorker is a psychological thriller that keeps you on the edge of your seat.
At work, Dawn is rather awkward and not part of the cool crowd. One day this most punctual employee doesn't show up. Soon, her coworker Natalie receives a call that pulls her into a crazy mystery. Dawn was not who she seemed and she states she is being targeted by someone close.
The book becomes a game of cat and mouse as the search for the real victim and resolution begins.
An edge of your seat thriller

I enjoyed the premise of this book, a thriller set in an office environment is certainly outside the norm. I was surprised by most of the many twists, although one or two I guessed in the beginning. There is some problematic language in this book, such as the term “commit suicide,” and uses of ableist words “crazy” and “obsessed.” I was disappointed that an experienced author wouldn’t know about the harm these words can have. Looking beyond that, this book sucked me in and I couldn’t put it down! I was guessing up until the end.

I LOVE FREIDA MCFADDEN!!!!!!!!!!!! Her latest novel, "The Coworker", is another twisty psychological thriller to die for!

So this was my 1st book by this author, and I was curious to read it because I know she's popular. I received an ARC from Edelweiss+. Although this was a quick easy read, it was nowhere near as good & complex as other thrillers I've read. The characters were silly and downright ridiculous at times, almost laughable. It reminded me a bit of Colleen Hoover's Verity, which I also didn't like although it was a teeny bit better.

When Dawn doesn’t show up for work one day Natalie knows something is wrong. because Dawn always sticks to precise routines. Going to her home she finds blood all over the kitchen but no Dawn. And to make matters worse the police think Natalie killed her. A fast reading suspenseful page turner that doesn’t disappoint from first page to last.

This was such a masterpiece! This book is full of twists and turns, drama and forgiveness. I have no doubt that this book will bring Freida to the next level in her career!

As usual, Freidas writing is so smooth and keeps you guessing and they’re super fast reads! Unfortunately I feel like a lot of the characters are getting silly and just acting unrealistic, the more books of hers that I read!will continue reaching for her books though!

“The Coworker” by Freida McFadden
Dawn Schiff and Natalie Farrell are coworkers at Vixed, a nutritional supplement company. Although the two women work side by side, they couldn’t be more different. Dawn is well…a bit strange, at least according to the office community, while Natalie is among the most popular to work for the company. Dawn can always be counted on to be on time, if not early, to the office each day so when Natalie arrives to find that Dawn hasn’t shown up to work and hasn’t called out sick, she begins to worry.
No one believes Natalie when she says she feels like something bad must have happened, so she takes it upon herself to visit Dawns home, only to find Dawn missing and a suspicious amount of blood in the living room. She immediately involves the police, but signs quickly begin pointing to Natalie as the number one suspect even though she swears she’s innocent.
To make matters worse, Natalie is receiving phone calls and even though the person on the other line doesn’t make any sound she knows someone is there.
When the police gain access to Dawn’s emails, they are led to a chain of messages between Dawn and a close friend. Dawn details Natalie’s office mistreatment of her over the last year since she’s worked for the company. Natalie also finds a key piece of evidence from the case tucked into the laundry basket in her home. Natalie maintains her innocence, but the police are quickly closing in and it’s up to her to find out the truth, before it’s too late. “The Coworker” is another book by Freida McFadden that will keep you on the edge of your seat and make you question the motives of absolutely every character you meet. Highly recommend!

I have been a big fan of Frieda Mcfadden for a while now and truly have loved all her books. The Coworker quickly pushed its way to my top favorite! Once I started I truly could not stop. I stayed up way past bedtime to finish?

This Freida Readah was very excited to have early access to The Coworker so shout out to NetGalley and the publisher! However, I had issues with my NetGalley app where the book was displaying extremely small, and I was not able to enlarge the print, which sadly took away from my reading experience. I usually devour Freida’s books, but it took me a few days to get through this one. I’m giving The Coworker 4 stars even though I didn’t have my usual reaction of “OH MY GOD what just happened?!” upon completion because I really think I wasn’t able to get the full experience that comes with reading a Freida McFadden book due to the app issues.

I was reeled in from the get go on this one. I don't think it's McFadden's best work, but it was entertaining and it kept me guessing. I wasn't disappointed by the twists in this one. Natalie's coworker, Dawn, who sits in the cubicle next to hers has gone missing. Dawn is clearly on the spectrum with her by the book schedule, inability to understand social cues, and obsession with turtles. Natalie is a seemingly nice to your face, but mean girl when you are not looking, and both have secrets and pasts that are slowly unveiled as Natalie becomes the prime suspect for the murder of her coworker.
Thank you so much to #Netgalley and @Freida McFadden for this advanced reader's copy for an honest review.

Holy moly! Freida did it again with this one! I figured out 1 part of the book.. but the rest has me shocked. I turtley recommend this book! ( see what I did there) ? Thank you to the publisher and Freida and of corse NetGalley for my chance to read this!
