This was such a fun easy graphic novel. I loved the plot seeing the kids interact together. I feel like this would be a perfect reread every fall! It has all the perfect fall vibes and cozy colors.

the artwork is beautiful, sometimes fascinating, or vice versa — creepy. the love line is beautiful>>>>> but I would like to see more interactions between the couple ♡ at the beginning everything was fine, a little bit scary (and I'm not a fan of horror stories at all). the plot was VERY confusing. who? what? where? why? spoiler: your questions WILL NOT be answered. but then, as a Ukrainian, the pages with the "good r*ssian" and the use of the r*ussian language were very triggering for me. it's 2023, publishing fiction that shows r*ssians in a good light while genocide is being committed in Ukraine: are you serious?! and the last question: why is the ending open?

When a group of teenagers get up to mischief on Halloween, they end up in a mysterious dimension where they have to overcome obstacles in order to return home.

This is a cute graphic novel that's spooky and queer. I think teens are really going to like it.

Perfect story for the halloween season! I usually don’t like spooky stories but this one was thrilling and mystical. Absolutely wonderful cast of diverse characters and an engaging story. The artwork is amazing! .

This was a pretty big disappointment,
I loved how it started, I loved the idea of a group of queer kids with messy intertwined relationships going to a graveyard on Halloween to party with ghosts and who know what's gonna happen - that is literally all I wanted and needed.

But once they are catapulted into this other world - Confetti Realms - everything got messy, and not in a good way. The worldbuilding was very poorly executed, it felt like nothing had rhyme or reason and the more we got into it the more the characters started talking as if what was happening made sense and had rules and they knew what those rules were and what they meant, and us readers... well, we didn't. It got so frustrating and confusing and I had to DNF it 2/3 in because I just didn't care anymore to try and get my mind around it.

Such a shame. The illustrations were so good.

I was expecting a lot from this graphic novel, but it was just so confusing that I couldn't understand what happened. The characters didn't get any development either. The arr was gorgeous, the colors vibrant, and the only things that kept me going, because I couldn't feel anything for the characters.

On Halloween night, a group of four teens decide to explore a graveyard. They come across a mausoleum which has a giant puppet inside. He comes to life and sends them to another dimension called the Confetti Realms. He gives them the task of finding him five teeth from various creatures throughout the realm. If they find them all before that night, he will send them back home. However, as the night goes on, each of the friends realize that if they stay in the confetti realm, they won’t have to face their problems at home, so they must decide if they will stay or go back.

This story had lots of queer representation. It had a spooky atmosphere which is perfect for this time of year! The creatures they encountered were fun and entertaining. I laughed a few times while reading this graphic novel. I would have liked the ending to be less open ended because I like the closure of knowing exactly what happened.

Confetti Realms is a great Halloween graphic novel!

Thank you Mad Cave Studios for providing a copy of this book!

Simple halloween type of book very easy to read and get through. Gave me Tim Burton vibes. It was a great story to have for around Halloween. Thank you to netgalley and the authors for this chance to read.

Despite the eye-catching drawing style I found the story quite confusing and pointless.
Thank you NetGalley for providing an ARC.

Thank you to the publisher and netgalley for an e-arc of this one.

I thought this had very beautiful art but didn't really get into character development they way I would have liked. The Confetti Realms was all a bit of a dream sequence designed to catalyze the characters into confronting things about themselves, but since I didn't care much about the characters, it didn't really work for me. I did think the art was gorgeous and would love to see a physical copy.

CW: suicidal ideation, depression

Just in time for spooky season, this graphic novel will appeal to both teens and elder emos alike. With a cast of diverse characters, the book has a vague "Stranger Things" meets "The Labyrinth" with a group of friends questing through a strange realm. The book has possibility for a sequel, but as a standalone, holds it's weight.

“On Halloween night, when the moon is full, teenagers get up to mischief. But when an encounter with a giant, sentient puppet in a graveyard sends five teens to a mysterious dimension called the Confetti Realms, they must overcome obstacles in their own friendships–and collect the debted teeth owed to the puppet–in order to make their way home.”

I’m including the summary from the back cover because I had no idea how to describe this graphic novel. I will say the illustrations are stunning, and I enjoyed this diverse, weird, fever dream of an adventure. However, the ending left me wanting a little more resolution.

The characters describe their journey into this world as “a good bad dream, a great nightmare,” and I agree. If you loved dark portal fantasies like Return to Oz or Labyrinth, give Confetti Realms a try.

Thank you to NetGalley and Mad Cave Studios for the ARC.

I thought "Confetti Realms" was going to be the perfect Halloween read. At least, that's what the beginning promised. But in the end, as the reading progresses, we drift away from this spooky, paranormal atmosphere, in favor of an imaginary, parallel but strange world.
There's a real and interesting reflection on the will to flee in the face of what we have to face, and on sanity and friendship. That's the aspect that really appealed to me. But the background, the world they land in, is ultimately very under-exploited in my opinion. The graphic novel is quite long and contains some narrative overlaps, yet a lot of things are glossed over enormously. The drawings are beautiful and the various creatures are very creative.

Confetti Realms was such a fun October read! The art was well done, and I enjoyed the worldbuilding. This is a good spooky-but-not-scary graphic novel that was a great Halloween read. I enjoyed the interpersonal relationships between the characters, but the characters on their own could have been more fleshed out. My favorite parts were those surrounding the animals in the Confetti Realms. The art of the creatures inside the tavern, at the aviary, and the party was incredibly well composed and articulated. The animals are the illustrator's strongest suit. The side characters were so interesting and had their own narrative present. Overall, this was a quick, cozy read for October, with solid art and autumn vibes. I would absolutely love a second novel about the goings-on of the animals in the Confetti Realms!

Confetti Realms was very interesting! I struggled to get into the story itself but kept pushing through and did not regret it. It is the perfect read for Halloween and really covers topics like accepting yourself and friendship that are vital for us all.

Great art style with interesting characters and great representation. Would love for this to be longer so that the pacing around the end could be slowed down and the ending not so abrupt. The world is fascinating and the characters vibrant. I thought this would be a bit scarier, but the fantastical world is more odd and wacky than terrifying. I liked how mental health and the complexity of relationships are addressed.

The perfect read for Halloween. This graphic novel explores, friendship, queerness and making yourself who you want to be. It was delightful and sweet, but very poignant at the same time. I really enjoyed my time reading it and I would highly suggest it to anyone who wants a sweet, but thoughtful read.

I really really wanted to love this, the cover promisedan interesting art style and the summary sounded like an interesting story.
Unfortunately it just coudn't grab my interest. I wanted very badly to love this, but something was missing, I wish I could say what it was, but I just couldn't keep focus on the story or want to continue.

Unfortunately I did not finish this, but I hope others still give it a shot, because it does seem very promising.

This kinda gave Disney Channel's Halloweentown in this day and I was here for it. The art is very pretty and I believe I spent more time staring at the art than reading, but It was very very good.
