I really loved it. First, It was so good to read about all of the characters that I learned to love in Icebreaker ! It was so fun. Henry is still my favorite and I can't wait to read his happy endings too !!

Russ is an incredible character with a lot of issues. It was amazing to read how much he grew up in this book and how much Aurora helped him open himself.

Their relationship was beautiful. I also loved how the author made fun of the miscommunication tropes ! It was great and made me laugh out loud !

There are a lot of issues in this book. Aurora and Russ don't have a good family and they struggle a lot. It's an emotional read.

This book is perfect if you are a Tessa Bailey girlie.

Unfortunately I am not a Tessa Bailey girlie, so this book was not for me. I found the characters childish and annoying and very much not my type. But also I am a nerdy bookworm who reads Wikipedia for fun, so your mileage may vary. Alas, I don't think hockey romances are my thing.

Aurora is such a fun heroine, and they are an amazing match.

This is another great read by Hannah Grace. The characters are endearing, and the story captivated my heart. I received Wildfire by Hannah Grace from #NetGalley and am voluntarily leaving my review.

I did read the first book of the Maple Hills series by Hannah Grace prior to this one and I am actually suprised to say that I enjoyed Wildfire more (considering I quite enjoyed the first one). I couldnt help to picture Aurora or Rory as our Gilmore Girls themselves despite the totally different plotline but I digress. I thought this was a really interesting and new take on slow-burn and I really enjoyed it. Just a great fall read!

Russ and Aurora have a steamy one night stand celebrating the end of the school year. Aurora assumes she will never see him again and slips away. Imagine her surprise when she bumps into him while working at a summer camp.

This book was steamy. It was too steamy for me but that didn't make me not like it. They were both facing daddy issues but you could feel the chemistry coming from the pages.

I absolutely adored this book. Every second of it.

I loved Russ. He was so open and honest about his feelings with Aurora, even though he struggled to talk about his past. He was giving golden retriever energy and I couldn’t get enough.

Aurora was really funny and was a perfect match for Russ. She showed him that he was safe with her and that they weren’t alone in the things that they had suffered through.

The communication was on point. No breakups. Cute moments with kids. Amazing side characters. Hannah Grace, I’ll read your books till the end of time.

Wildfire tells the story of two college students who have a one night stand only to find themselves working at the same camp for the summer. There, they become friends and learn they have more in common then they think. But all that chemistry unfolding between them is strictly forbidden.

Wildfire was both fluffy, and a melancholy kind of a read for me. They are young, but if you take out the steamy scenes, it all felt very YA for me. I felt this one had less spice in terms of how much Icebreaker had, and much more emotion and cinnamon roll sweetness. I really liked the cute setting. And I did like the MC's-they were cute together. I loved the start-their one night. But once they get to camp, I felt this story took a slow turn and it was just a little too dragged out-taking me way longer to read it then it should have. Unfortunately, I don't think this author's writing style is for me. I know that there are many who will love exactly this type of story though, so be sure to check it out for yourself!

I actually haven’t read Icebreaker, so while you don’t need to read that book first, I do think you may get more out of this one if you have! They are standalones but characters pop up every now and then.

I really enjoyed both Aurora and Russ and found it very sweet to hear their backstories and watch them slowly open up. It is more of an intense book because there is addiction, verbal abuse, and neglect, but it’s handled fairly carefully. That being said, those things are mentioned a lot! It starts to feel a bit much near the end of the book because of how heavy it starts getting, but overall, the romance was still good and present.

This book is quite smutty, so not usually my type, but it wasn’t overly kinky at all. Fairly vanilla, but decently detailed for y’all who are into it.

I kind of thought we’d see more of the camp dynamic, but the book sort of only focuses on their days off and when they’re sneaking away from the camp/the campers, so it really isn’t as big of a plot point as I thought it would be? Which is totally fine, just not what I was expecting lol.

There are small town vibes, and some frat/university college vibes, but the book takes place during summer break so there is not much of that.

The yearning and miscommunication is real, so if you’re into that, you will be happy! The location is also very serene since it’s a summer camp, so lots of pretty outdoors scenery.

Overall, this book was alright for me personally. Not my favourite romance book, but also not the worst. Some of it drags on a little, but the dynamic between Rory and Russ is good enough to keep you reading. I’d give it a 3.5/5 so I recommend it if it has the tropes that you enjoy!

I read Icebreaker last year and enjoyed it, so I was excited to see Wildfire pop up, and learn more about Russ and the characters introduced in Icebreaker. Unfortunately I didn’t really enjoy Wildfire, and while the book started off strong and entertaining, by the midway point I found myself just checking the % left and hoping I was close to being done.

I really wanted to like Aurora and Russ, as I relate to their shared experience of having “dad-issues” or crappy fathers, but I had trouble connecting with them. A lot of their thought patterns and conversations felt repetitive and left me feeling unengaged. Some of the resolutions also felt very tidy. The smutty scenes were okay.

I liked the summer camp setting as a background, and it brought up my own great memories of being at camp (for a week at a time, not all summer!). And I enjoyed the anticipation from how Russ and Aurora met, and then reconnected, so there were some great concepts in the book, I just didn’t love the execution this time.

Wildfire begins with a return to one of Maple Hills hockey team’s notorious year-end parties where hockey player Russ and English major Aurora have a sparks-filled one night stand. Afterwards, Aurora sneaks out of his room, intent on never seeing him again; she’s ready to leave campus to embark on her annual gig as a summer camp counselor in Honey Acres, the only place where she feels at peace. But she arrives and discovers that Russ is a counselor there too, and they spend the season dancing the line of the camp’s non-fraternization policy and fighting their undeniable attraction.

Earlier this year, I raved about Icebreaker, floored by its intricately built, adrenaline-pumping plot and exploration of the deep issues that arise as a result of competitive sports. Wildfire reunites us briefly with key characters in our Maple Hills found family, but it departs from the sports and college setting almost entirely. This was a bit jarring for me, but the summer camp is a great, original setting for the “forced proximity” trope, and I enjoyed the dynamic between all the counselors and the immersive outdoor environments and day-to-day activities.

Russ and Aurora are a duo with chemistry that is both adorable and electric. There is tension between them as they try to adhere to the rules, and struggle with family drama while navigating their relationship. Unlike Icebreaker, this is told in dual POV–offering a fuller picture of both characters’ personalities. However, as a result, there is copious amounts of telling and not showing, with both characters unpacking their traumas, choices, and actions so much that I felt revoked of the space to make discoveries as the reader. Russ and Aurora are refreshingly introspective and communicative characters, but their many didactic inner monologues could’ve been refined. For me, this is the book’s biggest downfall–even though Icebreaker dealt with personal issues and trauma, I felt they were better integrated into the story's events.

As a huge fan of Icebreaker this was one of my most anticipated books of the year and it did not disappoint. The book starts with a bang (literally) and keeps up the addictive pace throughout the whole book. The story and main characters are distinctly different from Icebreaker while still giving us the same found family vibes as book 1 and the visits from familiar faces.

This book was so stinking cute while having a good level of spice and I’m so excited to see what Hannah Grace comes out with next!

This is the second book in this series but I think it stands on its own very well (I have not read the first book). I liked Russ the mmc a lot, I like his story and his arc and I loved Aurora, the fm.

I think the romance was good, with just the right amount of angst and forced proximity, and a few other tropes thrown in. They have chemistry and they help each other grow. I also loved that it’s a dual POV.

I want to check out the first book now for sure!

I am so happy I finally read Icebreaker right before I got an ARC for Wildfire. All these characters were fresh in my brain! When you are first introduced to Russ, you aren't sure about him. But Hannah will make you fall head over heels for this man! He is such a golden retriever!

Aurora and Russ are pure sweet magic together! With their shared common family issues these two are such a perfect pair to the other. The way that Russ just immediately knows how much she adores to be praised and does it any chance he gets is just so heartwarming! And I adored how Aurora wouldn't let Russ hide and push her away.

Together but also separately, these characters grow so much and are so aware of their flaws but love each other anyway. And just like the the first book, Hannah does such a beautiful job of avoiding third act breakups!

This book will have your heart melting from such a sweet, steamy love and have you wanting to run to spend your summer at a summer camp!

I loved it! I read Icebreaker immediately before Wildfire and loved this story so much more (Icebreaker was great too). Glad I read them together to have the character and Maple Hills world background, which was relatively important for the second book, and reading this immediately following it was still fresh in my memory.

These characters, Russ, one of the hockey team members from Maple Grove U and book 1 (not a big character), and Aurora, have excellent chemistry even if their first conversation is incredibly awkward. I really enjoyed the summer camp counselor setting - pretty unique (not the first romance I’ve come across to use it, but still quite rare). After their first encounter at the college hockey party and meeting again immediately afterwards at camp is the makings of a magical romance!

I highly recommend this book, especially if you enjoyed Icebreaker. Hannah Grace is a very talented New Adult author who is going to do great things with her future releases!

I can't say enough good things about this book, Just like Icebreakers I loved Wildfire front start to end. After a one night stand that didn't quite end the way either of them thought Aurora and Russ are both surprised to see each other at camp where they're both counsellors for the summer. And, of course, there's a no staff fraternizing rule. Coexisting while fighting growing attraction is not an easy thing, I thought Hannah did such a good job at writing that part of the story. Definitely took them a little while to start communicating properly but I honestly didn't hate the bit of miscommunication that was there. I think the miscommunication helped Aurora and Russ open up better later on since they knew what happened if they didn't communicate properly. Also loved seeing the rest of the Maple Hill crew again, always makes me so happy. I'll definitely be rereading this again soon!

Loved this sequal to Icebreaker - it had the perfect summer vibes and I loved seeing some loveable characters again! Such a fun read!

I loved this as much, if not more than Icebreaker. Russ was an absolute sweetheart and I just loved everything about him and his character. Aurora has her issues, but she was such a real and relatable character, working on herself and trying to be better. Both Russ and Aurora are damaged and healing from trauma, but they work on themselves and are there for each, while juggling their attraction to one another and the fact that they are coworkers. This made for such an entertaining and heartwarming book, and I was unable to put it down.

LOVED this book! Im such a Hannah Grace fan. I have been waiting for this since reading Icebreaker and it didn't disappoint! LOVE LOVE LOVE

As expected, I devoured this beauty in just about a day 🫡

I was absolutely positively in love with icebreaker, and didn’t think anyone could make me melt more than Nate (and my actual boyfriend, of course) until we hear from RUSS!!!

This is a beautiful story about daddy issues, summer camp, sneaking around, more daddy issues, a hockey team with no actual hockey played, and college romance. If any of the above speak to you, absolutely positively give this a read. It can be read as a standalone, but the background from icebreaker made it sooooooo sweet.

I literally can’t wait to read the rest of the guys’ stories. JUSTICE FOR HENRY!!!!
