I honestly was surprised with this book because normally I don't tend to enjoy books or movies that re-do Austen's work and when I decided to give this a try I was completely happy about it.

I will definitely try to read it again in the future since it's a little harder for me on audiobook, but I would recommend it if you want to have a good time!

I really enjoyed the narrator. I found that the narrator's voice conveyed emotion well and their accent was great. I could not get into this book. I tried to power through, but this just was not the book for me. I need a bit more action and excitement. I can see that many women would enjoy this book, they have gentler tastes than I.

This is the second book in The Jane Austen Dating Agency series, but it's the first one I've listened to. At first, I struggled with the narrator's accent, but I eventually adapted and found it easier to follow. Sophie Johnson, who successfully found love with Darcy, now runs the Jane Austen Dating Agency alongside Emma Woodtree. She's currently planning a wedding for a couple who met through the agency and still hoping to secure an exclusive editorial position at a magazine. However, Darcy's mother poses a significant threat to her plans. The story is a mix of different Austen plot lines and characters but set in the modern world. It's well-written and narrated, with some genuinely funny moments.

I enjoyed the premise and especially the setting of the Jane Austen Dating Agency. However I found the plot pretty slow and hard to get into over all.

I'm not sure these words are applicable for our protagonist Sophie but they definitely apply to the prolific writing of her heroine Jane Austen. In this mash up of her romance novels, A Wedding at the Jane Austen Dating Society, by entertaining author Fiona Woodifield, we see elements of Austen's creative Northanger Abbey, Mansfield Park and the ever perfect Pride and Prejudice.

In this second of the Jane Austen Dating Society trilogy we begin a few months after Book One and (spoiler alert) Sophie and Darcy Drummond are still together. Sophie is thrilled to be working with Emma (that name's not a coincidence) at the agency and planning the modern regency wedding of the agency's most successful couple from the first book, Maria and Charles. To top it all off Sophie is also freelancing as a magazine writer. All her dreams are coming true until they aren't and Sophie faces what we all face at some point, how does she have it all without sacrificing something; especially love.

I enjoyed all the regency activities like speed dating with calling cards, walks in the fancy rose garden, regency sports and the regency ball. Narrator Sarah Lambie held down the prim and proper tones of the uppity entitled with hilarious enthusiasm.

When Sophie realizes that, "Darcy Drummond is not Mr. Darcy," and the affectionate Henry might be a truer match she may have to face that Jane Austen's romances are just fiction.

A Wedding at the Jane Austen Dating Agency AUDIO by Fiona Woodifield was mostly entertaining. At first I was annoyed by the Valley Girl with the English accent but that calmed down and the reality of Sophie Johnson became more apparent. She was all things Austen and being hired as director was a dream come true. Plus, she was dating Darcy Drummond, who was as close to Austen’s Darcy as possible: the handsomest man alive. It was quite an enterprise, if a little short of men. They had Regency balls and teas, even sporting days. They dressed in Regency costume and were presently planning a Regency wedding. One of the perks was a free apartment for her and her friend, a fashion designer, on the grounds of the mansion/museum in which the agency was located.

This was not quite the Valley Girl novel it appeared to be. There was social conscience, women’s place in present-day society, and an illegal gambling ring as well as the nonsense and the romance. It was a decent ending and a coming of age novel about Sophie, who tended to be a little immature. She wrote for an important magazine as a contributing editor while she was arranging Regency outings. She went with her roommate to a vegan protest only to take pictures but got drug into it and embarrassed herself, the dating agency, and Darcy. Things seemed to fall apart from there as Darcy proved his strings were pulled by his mother and Sophie went on alone. That turned out for the better, though, as she made new friends and had new experiences. It was an entertaining listen.

The narrator was Sarah Lambie, who was not a terrible choice for this book. The only criticism I have is that she read really fast. I guess that may have been her direction, though, as Sophie was something of a chatterbox. It was an entertaining listen, partially due to Sarah’s interpretation of the book.

I've heard from my book buddies that the first book in the series is brilliant so I'm definitely keen to see if that is available from the library to read/listen to, however for me this second book fell flat.

I didn't particularly feel any sort of connection with the characters and the story overall was very surface.

First time trying this author and while I didn't enjoy this particular story I would absolutely give her another go.

For any Jane Austen lover, this is a must read. I loved the reader and the story. It was a fun rendition of Austen novels and highly recommend.

Sophie has the perfect job (managing director of the Jane Austen dating agency) and the perfect boyfriend (wealthy and handsome Darcy). But when her business and relationship show signs of cracking, will a holiday with kindly Henry and his sweet but struggling sister give Sophie a new perspective?

This is an entertaining chick lit for readers with a casual familiarity with Jane Austen. It's most definitely not a romance, given that it undoes the HFN in the previous book. The characterization of Darcy is likely to disappoint/infuriate true JA fans. I can't help wondering whether a third book in the series is coming, when Sophie will morph into Elinor Dashwood and fall in love with an Edward Ferrars character. Those two have been noticeably absent in the series so far.

This would have worked really well as a six-book series, with different heroines in each. The mashup of all Jane Austen's books into two (or maybe three) novels makes the subplots fairly superficial and a little chaotic (which isn't necessarily a bad thing in chick lit). If you haven't read all six of Austen's completed novels, you might struggle to follow this one.

I enjoyed the audiobook narration. It worked well with the tone of the book.

Firstly, I loved the narration of this book. I felt like it really brought the characters to life, and it was so enjoyable to listen to.

Secondly, the book. This book really brought me in from the start because it is so, quintessentially British, which is just fun to read. Sophie is such a fun character to just follow, her crazy antics and constant self-talk were really enjoyable. However, it lost my interest bit by bit because the story just meandered on without a plot. If you like literary fiction, you’d probably enjoy this book. It is very slice of life, character-focused. But because there were so many things happening, I needed a throughline to really enjoy my reading experience. I felt like some things were just ended abruptly (like the Darcy thing), some came up abruptly (like the wedding) and some just came out of nowhere (staying at the estate).

I don’t want to say it was a bad reading experience, but I kept finding myself creating distance because I didn’t know what to care about.

A modern remake of Jane Austen’s stories with some interesting twist in the plot. Sophie has the perfect life or so it seems. But will she find true love or will everything she wish for banish. The audiobook is good.

I received this audiobook through Netgalley. This book was everything that I wanted it to be! It has so many characters and I loved Sophie. Sophie faces a lot of relatable challenges that most of us have been through. I love all things Jane Austen and was the reason why I chose this audiobook. I didn't see the ending coming, but it was exactly what I wanted. If you want a feel good book with some twists along the way, this is the book for you.

OMG!! What a fantastic book. When I selected this I did not know what to expect. The characters are just so great. I could just picture the book unfold in front of me, and was so crushed when it was over. It was like closing the door on a group of best friends. It was so easy to get swept up in the story. I was given a copy of this audiobook in exchange for an honest opinion.

I’ve already search out, and am currently reading, the first book in the series.

I always enjoy a book that references other books and found it amazing that this was not just Jane Austen but some of my favourite thrillers were referenced.

This book has a great plot but terrible execution. I just found the characters and story itself to be a bit stiff. I became bored quickly.

Sophie Johnson appears to be living the perfect life. She has landed her dream job as managing director of The Jane Austen Dating Agency and is dating the world’s most desirable man, Darcy Drummond.
 
But all is not as it seems. The relationship with Darcy is failing to live up to expectations and his awful mother is determined to cause trouble. To add to Sophie’s problems, the agency is struggling to attract enough eligible men, she has a Regency wedding to plan, and then there’s the amusing and disturbingly cute Henry Baxter who is making it hard for her to concentrate.

This is the second book in the series, but I have read it as a stand-alone - personally I feel that it wasn't an issue that I hadn't read the first book in the series, from the beginning I was able to keep up. This is a sweet romance that had me hooked from the beginning. A very enjoyable read with some interesting characters.
