I have loved Hilary since I was a child watching her on One Tree Hill. I really enjoyed her last book so thought I’d give this one a shot. I enjoyed almost as much as the first one. I loved hearing her history and the things she does in her personal life. I also love hearing about her married and mom life. They just seem like such a beautiful family.

Well written, well told, and an inspiring story of finding oneself and living the best life possible. This book was so inspiring and I hope the author continues to write and tell more of her story!

Nature guide and interesting with tales. I was surprised by the contents of this story. From Hilarie’s experiences, I almost thought this book was going to be a memoir of learning to live life outside of the actress life but it was very different. It reads like a guide to use witchcraft and Wiccan experiences in current life.

I love Hilarie Burton Morgan but I simply don't think this book was targeted for me. It's just not something I'm super into but I'm glad I gave it a chance. I think the graphics are cool and the little tidbits are fun.

I've always admired Hilarie Burton Morgan since I first saw her on MTV and soon after that One Tree Hill. My level of respect and admiration has only grown the older I get. This has become especially true when listening to her break down her OTH experiences on the Drama Girls pod cast. This is a woman who has been through some tough situations and it only has made her stronger.

When I found out that Grimoire Girl: A Memoir of Magic and Mischief was being published, I was immediately intrigued. From the moment I started it, it felt like a warm conversation with a friend. A friend who is explaining to you how to look for the magic in life. There is magic in every day things; magic in the past with the lessons you have been taught; magic in your heritage and your family; and even magic in the darkest of days.

This is not a preachy book by any means. Personal stories are woven in and out as well as little antidotes. There is humor and grace through out. and inspiration to create my own grimoire. A grimoire is a collection of pictures, memories, trinkets ect. that an individual can look at periodically for inspiration in their life. As I read I could tell how genuine this project was for the author and the way it has impacted her own life.

I recommend Grimoire Girl: A Memoir of Magic and Mischief to anyone looking to add a little bit of magic to their lives. It was the perfect book for me to read during the fall season. The way that it is written will have you feeling wrapped in a warm hug. There are stories and recipes throughout that you will come back to time and time again. They are what made Hilarie Burton Morgan into the woman she is today.

The writing is incredibly artful and sets the perfect tone for all of the secrets that it holds. I will definitely be reading this again!

As someone with a casual interest in witches and ritual, I found this book interesting and thought-provoking. Morgan takes the ancient concept of a spellbook or grimoire and brings it into the 21st century by making it somewhat of a mashup of intentions, prayers, recipes, and quotes. I loved the idea that women could and should create a book like this to pass along wisdom from parent to child. It made me take stock of the things I have from my ancestors - photos, recipes, letters, jewelry, poetry, locks of hair, etc. How can I organize those things to make them knowable to my children? Burton has given me plenty of ideas for how to create a grimoire that will be cherished by my children.

This book was a page turner from beginning to end. I have been a fan since one tree hill and especially loved her last book. Love the weaving of story telling and recipes and insights and love. Would highly recommend. I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.

Hilarie Burton Morgan is a well-known actress (Petyon Sawyer anyone??!) but she's also well known for her advocacy, her "take no bullshit attitude" and her determination to show up as her authentic self despite the pressures of Hollywood.

With Grimoire Girl, she takes us back to her roots with a lovely book about her desire to leave an "inheritance" for her children, the ways she stays grounded in her, self described, "witchy beliefs" and gives some tips and ideas for anyone wanting to be more intentional about the energies they release into the world.

Grimoire Girl is a little bit memoir, a little bit "how to" and a whole lot of badass magic. Hilarie Burton Morgan's newest book will capture you from the very beginning and leave you wanting to create your own coven...begging for Burton Morgan to join.

I am a long time Hilarie Burton Morgan fan and have been patiently waiting to read this book and BOY was it worth the wait ✨ For anyone who knows her, her voice is represented beautifully in this book. She shares snippets of her life, buckets of wisdom, and a sprinkle of spells that you want to rip out of the book and pin on your wall so you never forget them.

In very Peyton Sawyer like form, she adds illustrates at the start of chapters that are just so perfect I had to share my favorite.

This book will be on my reread list for anytime I’m having a tough day. It’s exactly what I needed this week ✨

Thank you to @harperonebooks & @hilarieburton for gifting me a physical copy of this book. It’s going straight on to my credenza for all to see!!! ✨🫶

Thank you to Harper Collins for the finished copy and Harper Collins and NetGalley for the eARC. I’m a longtime Hilarie Burton Morgan fan and I was so excited to see she had a witchy book coming out just in time for the season of the witch - my favorite time of year! This book is a love letter to magic and witches and ultimately, Hilarie’s two children. I found this to be interesting and it definitely had witchy and mystical vibes. Hilarie’s writing is descriptive and engaging - like talking to an old friend. I loved learning more about Grimoires and the ideas behind them and of course the blend of emotions and reflections of time periods and beloved friends and family from Hilarie’s life. With a beautiful cover and illustrations, and citations and references to the ideas presented (along with literally prompting the reader to look into those texts) this was a great, conscious read!

Grimoire Girl is not at all what I was expecting... however, I should've known to expect that from Hilarie Burton Morgan.

I have been a longtime fan of Hilarie, from her One Tree Hill days and growing up near where she did. This book was even better than her first in my opinion. It's the perfect book to read to bring in witchy season! Hilarie is an amazing storyteller and conveys her emotions and love so beautifully. I will literally read anything she writes.

Hilarie Burton has done it again. I truly love her writing because when you read her books, you feel as if you're having a conversation with a friend. It it's as if you're sitting in the same room listening to her tell vivid stories of her childhood, giving us new recipies to follow, teaching us different forms of magic, and so much more.

This book is a collection of stories, magic, and knowledge that Hilarie Burton Morgan generously decided to share with the world. It is a quick and easy read that will change the way you perceive life's daily tasks. If you have any interest in practicing magic or just reading about beautiful life stories, I highly suggest giving this book a read. Huge thank you to NetGalley and HarperOne Publishing for giving me the opportunity to read this book.

A grimoire may be seen as a spell book, but it can be so much more. To Hilarie, it is a collection of knowledge and memories that you want to pass down to your kids, friends, and loved ones to help them understand you and learn from your experiences. Hilarie shares so many of her experiences, favorite quotes, and advice in a way that is conversational and easy to understand. This book is pure magic in the best way possible.

Do I love Hilarie Burton or what? Loved this Grimore- which I had no idea the meaning of until I picked the book up. I initially had interest in this book for Hilarie alone. However, hr continued collection of stories and sharing parts of herself kept me hooked in this novel. Her collection of recipes, stories, and history were intriguing and enjoyable. The witchy ideas she’s incorporated into her daily life were fun to learn about, and of course perfect for an October read. In addition to her previous book, Rural Diaries, this gives you a look into the people, places & things that helped shape Hilarie into the wife, mother, friend, and person she is. It also encourages you to make your own grimore!
Thank you NetGalley for my ARC.
