Let's Just Be Friends is a fluffy, light-hearted romance full of heart-warming moments. I wasn't blown away by this and sadly I didn't fall in love with the characters but if you need something easy to read for a boost of serotonin I recommend this as it's a fun easy reading sweet romance.

So sweet! I loved the multiple POVs, but the main characters were Holly and Greg. Holly goes to Scotland as a favor to her mentor to work in a veterinary clinic with a total curmudgeon. She meets a local “serial monogamist” Greg, and she thinks that she should just be friends with him. The vet clinic has an amazing group of friends. This was funny and sweet; absolutely no spice at all. Just darling.

I absolutely loved this book! Holly is ready to start her new work adventure and then is sent to a small Scottish town to aid their vet. She ends up meeting her amazing coworkers and they become fast friends. Her boss is a grumpy old man and he leads her to believe that she is not doing a great job and doesn't want to leave her a great reference letter. I loved the main characters and how Greg comes into her life. I would definitely recommend this book if you are looking for sweet friends to lovers story. Thank you NetGalley for the audiobook and the opportunity to review this amazing book!

Thanks to Netgalley and Dreamscape Media (Audio). This book was just not for me there was nothing wrong with it but I did just not vibe with the characters I felt like the MFC was repetitive and didnt show any growth. I actually enjoyed the side characters more to be honest. I did enjoy the audio I love a accent that was probably the best part of all

2.5 stars!
Holly is a veterinarian who becomes a fish out of water in this small town, friends-to-lovers romance. She's moved to the Scottish highlands in this present day tale. She's excited for the picturesque views, but not quite as much for the farm animals. On her first night she's shocked to find a handsome gentleman in her cottage. After an initial misunderstanding, they become friends...or is it something more? This story features an ensemble cast. Holly's two new best friends, Chloe and Paolo, share much of the narrative in this book. Each is looking for love, sharing successes and failures at the local pub.
I found this book to be absolutely what I needed at the moment: light, fluffy, and easy to follow. Although, I found it a little odd that there are three characters with different love interests taking turns narrating this. (I'm probably just used to the hero/heroine dual narrations.) This book is the definition of "cute." We have three friends, each of whom is very sweet, and we follow their own potential love matches. Back stories abound. There's cozy and pleasant scene after...cozy and pleasant scene: on the job with cute animals, dancing, at a dog show, etc. It felt like the setting itself was almost a character. Holly discovers the beauty of the Scottish highlands for the first time, and we're right along with her, experiencing pubs, gorgeous views, and even a castle! Much of this story felt like a series of situations strung together. Sweet, but not terribly compelling. However, the third act offers up a perilous event that brings all of the main players together in a very satisfying way. The end left me smiling!

I'd like to thank Dreamscape Media and Netgalley for the e-ARC of this audiobook. All opinions expressed are my own.

Dammit! I did it again. I fell for the cartoon cover with the charming village and the adorable dog. Although this time, it may not necessarily be all my fault. Let’s Just Be Friends is billed as the perfect feel-good romance and follows Holly Anderson as she is forced to leave her London veterinary career behind for work as a large animal veterinarian in a small Scottish village in the Highlands. Greg Dunbar may be slightly drunk when he let’s himself into her cottage to crash on her couch, but all great meet cutes should have a standout moment, that moment which leads to THE SPARK and honestly, this moment did not spark like it should have. The romance in this novel is minimal with the primary focus being on Holly and her two co-workers and the friendship they form. While I am not saying this book was bad in any way, I do feel it should have been marketed differently. Thank you to Netgalley and Dreamscape Media for providing an advanced copy of this audiobook in exchange for an honest review.

All the characters were all very lovable, but my only dislike would be there was way too much going on for me in a romcom, there was about 3 live stories at once, and that she lets a complete stranger stay at her house was a little unbelievable for me. The main vet was just angry for no reason was a little too much, working at a vet office for years I can attest that some are like that, but feel it may shine a bad light on veterinarians. I still give it 4 stars because it was still a great story.

This is a book that is in the women's fiction category, similar to Jill Shalvis. I don't know why they gave it a rom-com cover, I think this will lead to disappointment for some readers looking for a spicy read. Having said that I really enjoyed this book, and following our protagonist Holly, who is a vet, sent off to a small town in the Scottish Highlands to work with their cranky vet to gain rural experience. Along the way she befriends Chloe and Paulo from the practice and we follow their romantic journeys.
Let's Just Be Friends has wonderful small town vibes, and listening to the audiobook is a delight hearing all the different Scottish and British accents. The narrator Mhairi Morrison did a wonderful job.
Thank-you to Dreamscape media and Netgalley for the advanced listener copy.

This was a sweet, cozy book. It wasn't what I expected, it is really about three main characters instead of just one. I liked the story, and the supporting characters added to the plot. This is a low-stakes story, but had some angst to it. I liked the following these characters and watching their stories wrap up. The imagery was wonderfully done, I felt like I could smell the sea when reading. I listed to the audio book version, which I highly recommend. The narrator was fantastic, and it really adds to the scenery to hear the accents. I don't think I would have liked this book as much if I had read instead of listened to it.
I did receive an advance copy in exchange for an honest review.

I wanted to like this book more I really did.
Overall the story was cute and I loved the premise, however there were so many different points of view that I found my self lost so many times as to whose point of view it was that it took me completely out of the story and I feel like I lost huge parts to what was going on. I wish they would have done a dramatized reading so that there would be different people for the characters to help sort it out!

A huge thank you to Dreamscape Media for granting me access to this title. I have truly been enjoying reading my books by alternating between the text and the audio. It allows me to keep reading uninterrupted by...well, life.
Holly's life feels like it's all about to fall into place after working so hard to get where she is. However, when her placement is changed Holly struggles initially to adjust. Instead of her day to day being in London, Holly is being sent to a tiny fishing town in the Scottish Highland. Everything is so different. Fortunately, Holly's predecessor is letting her use his home in his absence and it's a beauty. Other than that, Holly is dealing with a curmungeonly boss who thinks she can do no right. With her future in the balance, Holly is determined to prove her boss wrong.
I liked the budding romance between Holly and Greg, but I really really loved her friendship with Paolo and Chloe. What a fun trio. This book is perfect for a rainy day to snuggle up on the couch and sip some tea.
I ended up having to listen to the audiobook on 2.5-3 speed, because I found the narration a bit too slow. I did like the narrator quite a lot.

Three friends following their hearts in a little, seaside Scottish town.
This book is beautifully narrated by Mhairi Morrison. She is narrating the voices of all of the characters, clearly differentiating the English accent of Holly and the Scottish accent of her friends. I loved that this narration was not monotone and felt more like a dramatic reading during intense dialogue between characters. I specifically loved that when a character is whispering to another character, the narrator actually whispers so softly as I imagine the character to be doing so.
This is the first audiobook I’ve listened to with these accents which took some getting used to. I felt like the first 20 minutes of the audiobook was a slow and didn’t grab my attention.
I loved the setting of this book which is a small fishing village in the Scottish Highlands. It was very easy to imagine a little cottage by the sea and the nearby farms. I loved the feeling of a small community where everyone knows each other and goes to the only local pub to spend time together.
The description of this book discusses the predicament Holly finds herself in when Greg Dunbar lets himself into the cottage she is renting. The book begins with this storyline however it goes into more detail about the romantic relationships of the first two friends’ Holly meets upon her arrival in Eastercraig. I think more effort went into developing the relationships of Chloe and Paolo than Holly’s relationship with Greg.
I was interested in Chloe’s relationship with Angus much more than Holly’s with Greg and Paolo’s with Hamish. I think the romance and tension between Chloe and Angus was written clearly and made me want to keep listening. I loved their small moments together and wanted to keep reading/hearing more about them than the other couples. I wish I would have gotten to hear Chloe’s conversation with Angus in the hospital!
By the end of the book, I felt as if the small-town romance story lied with Chloe and Angus. I loved the friendly relationship Holly and Greg created however, I didn’t feel any romantic vibes between them and actually think they make great friends.
Thank you to NetGalley and Dreamscape Media for the opportunity to listen to this audiobook.

Thank you to Dreamscape Media and NetGalley for the ARC of Let’s Just Be Friends.
Let’s Just Be Friends tells the story of Holly Anderson, a vet who left her previous employment after some work disappointments, she is once again disappointed when a job she was promised falls through. She is placed at another vet surgery in a remote, quaint, coastal Scottish village. There she immediately becomes friends with her coworkers, excepting her boss Hugh, who is a curmudgeon. Her first night in her provided house a surprise guest let’s himself in as he was friends with the owner and still had a key. Despite their irregular meeting, Holly cannot get him out of her head.
I loved this book! The story is so cozy and the village delightful. Holly is a great character focused on her career goals. While I don’t enjoy insta-love stories, I did love her fast and deep friendships with her coworkers Chloe and Paulo.
I wouldn’t classify this as a romance. It is more of a friendship story with some crushes thrown in. The characters sometimes felt a little one-dimensional but were lovable enough.
The narrator was ok. The story abruptly switches between Holly, Chloe, and Paulo’s POV and greater differentiations in their voices would have helped.

A cute story following a Holly, a vet going to a little sea town in Scotland for a year. Her boss is a grump, her colleague at work, Bea one great friends, and the first night in town an stranger crash her little cottage for the night. The relationship between the different characters are meaningful but the book let you wondering about their future. Good audiobook.

This is such a sweet romance story’ I really enjoyed listening to them falling in love and the their journey along the way. Would definitely recommend if you want a sweet happy love story

Thank you NetGalley and Katy Turner for the free advance listener copy of Let’s Just Be Friends. I liked the concept of the book but had a hard time keeping focus.

Let's Just Be Friends by Katy Turner gave me the feels. I loved loved this story. I haven't been reading romance lately and this book makes me want to read all the romance.

This was a cute story but fell a little flat for me. While I loved the premise of a vet going to a small Scottish seaside town to work with a curmudgeonly old veterinarian it just didn't live up to it's expectations for me. The secondary characters had their own little romances and stories but they had no conclusion. Maybe Turner will do some more novels in the same universe and explore them further but they just seemed to have been forgotten in this one. Over all, a cute, quick read.

A cute story but a little boring. Ultimately, I wasn't able to finish it because it didn't grip me enough. The scenery was enjoyable and the accent make the story fun but it was so slow and details were shared that made the story move more slowly than needed.

Sadly this ended up being a miss for me.
My thoughts on the story: This story was kind of... well, boring. I was a bit jarred by the third person POV that follows all of the characters instead of the two main characters. There are other relationships forming throughout the story, but none of them are at all steamy or all that interesting. This story would make a great women's fiction for those interested in a Scottish small town's goings ons.
My thoughts on the narration: While the narrator's accent added authenticity to the story, she read very slow and I had to bump the speed to 1.25x for it to be normal enough to enjoy. Her character voices were okay when differentiating between all of them. I have more diverse voices for reading children's books to my daughter than this narrator does.
