I was infested in this middle grade romantic comedy, It had everything that I was looking for based on the Cupid mythology. It was a unique premise for a really fun story. I enjoyed that I got to read it. The characters were fun and interesting and I could understand the use of Greek gods in the story. Nashae Jones has a great writing style and look forward to read more from the author.

Thank you to #NetGalley, Nashae Jones, and the publisher of the book for the eARC copy in exchange for an honest review.

Erin's 13th birthday starts out like any other day. Soon though, she discovers this comes with a special gift. Erin learns her mystery father is Cupid and she has inherited his gift of romance. Erin decides to use this power to make her rival, Trevor, fall in love with her, so he won't run against her for president of the Multicultural Leadership Club. Will Erin start to have real feelings for Trevor?

A cute and fun middle grade read! I loved Erin's passion and drive. I will definitely be recommending this book to others.

Oh. My. Word.
Is this one of the cutest books I've ever read? Did it make me laugh out loud? Did I tear up? Did I wrinkle my nose? Did I smile? Did I get stressed out? Yes. Yes to all of the above.

If you like light fantasy, middle school, romance, mistakes, growth, BIPOC representation, Korean food and sweet books, read this one. Read it more than once. Tell your friends to read it. Like I am right now.

Middle Grade is definitely lacking in enjoyable modern rom-coms. And Courtesy of Cupid helps fill that void! It was a cute & and definitely funny little rivals to “first love” story! I do wish we would’ve gotten a little more of Cupid himself, and also felt that the characters maturity level was more towards 6th grade vs 8th grade, but overall, it was an adorable read that I think many middle grade girls will like.

Erin Johnson is not your typical student. She's on track to cure cancer and win a nobel prize. It's too bad that Trevor Jin, her nemesis, is also on track to take what she wants the most: to be President of the Multicultural club. So when EJ comes into the Cupid powers she inherited from her dad, she decides to make Trevor fall in love with her so he drops out of the race. Of course, things don't go as planned leaving EJ with a huge mess.

I thought this was a cute story. Predictable, but cute. EJ is very believable, and I enjoyed reading it. I find it a fun contrast to other demigod stories, but not in the same genre as Riordan.

Erin has big plans to become a scientist and find a cure for cancer. Her motto is "What Would Marie Do?" referencing Marie Curie. She doesn't believe in magic or that the ancient gods were real. When her mother throws her a surprise 13th birthday party (which Erin hates) and then drops the bomb on her that her father was Cupid and Erin now has magical romance power, Erin doesn't want to believe it. But she sees the scientific proof herself. She decides to use her powers to take care of Trevor Jin who has been her competition at school since kindergarten. Of course her plans have unintended consequences and she has to figure out how to repair the friendships that she damaged. A good book about relationships and how our perception of people may be based on our own biases and not who they actually are. For grades 5 & up.
