This bittersweet story takes place in Locksburg, PA. Once a prosperous coal town that is now struggling and it’s residents abandoning. We follow three flawed characters. Nathan is a volunteer firefighter who finds a large sum of cash in a burning building and decides to take it. Callie is an overworked but dedicated nurse who decides to grant a wish to a dying patient. Andy who is a suicidal recovering addict is focused on vigilante justice for a child predator. All of these people’s decisions have far reaching consequences.

Such a wonderful debut novel. The characters were well written and the three storylines that loosely intertwined were all compelling. The multicast narration is excellent. Thank you to @netgalley @macmillan.audio for an advance audio copy.
