ARC REVIEW:

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Summer Knowles is struggling to see her happily-ever-after (HEA). Watching her prime baby-bearing years slip away and still very much single, she decides to take proactive measures-freeze her eggs. Shortly after undergoing the invasive procedure, she finds herself at her identical twin sister’s wedding. Confronted by her loneliness, she does the unthinkable, entering into a no-stings attached relationship with the best man, Archie Hill. Will Summer and Archie be able to keep things strictly physical, or will emotions creep in?

The Love Proposal by Camilla Isley is the sixth book in her First Comes Love Series. While this is written as a standalone, I highly recommend reading books 4 and 5 prior to beginning this book. They contain important plot points and character developments that are key to Summer and Archie’s story.

As much as I enjoyed this book, I must admit to being a bit surprised. Traditionally, Camilla Isley is a clean/ closed door romance author. However, this book definitely pushes the boundaries of what it means to be clean/ closed door. There are a lot of scenes referencing or containing intimate moments between Summer and Archie. Thankfully, Isley did not cross the line and the majority of the scenes played into the story ( ie. features forced proximity and hookups with no strings attached).

Special thanks to Netgalley, Camilla Isley, and Boldwood Books for allowing me to read this book in exchange for my honest review.

*I appreciated the epilogue. Isley’s decision to jump ahead decades into the future made this love story so much sweeter. I literally swooned reading the final pages!!!

Overall, cute but not my favourite. I didn't really feel the chemistry between the couple as much as I wanted to, so this was overall cute but lacking in that department.

Isley does it again with a well written, steamy romance. The Love Proposal is a quick read with funny characters and a story that will tug at your heartstrings. I would have liked a bit more character development, but the lighthearted nature of the book made it an easy read. Definitely one I’d recommend to fans of the genre and author.
Thanks to netgalley and the publisher, boldwood books, for giving me the chance to read and review this book!

DNFed at 15%

I hated every minute I spent reading his book. The FMC is the exact copy of her twin sister, and the MMC is just a disgusting typical toxic playboy who will be a soft boy only for her and I am not in the mood for that.

a lovely light hearted book to read telling you that anything can happen at a wedding even between bridesmaid and best man summer and archie in particular and following up 30yrs later still married with kids and grandkids too

The Love Proposal combined all of my favourite tropes, but I felt that it did sometimes rely on them heavily to pad-out the plot. While the characters are likable and their witty banter was WONDERFUL, the overall development felt rushed at times and I didn't 1000% connect with them as a couple.

The writing style was light-hearted and easy to read, and I had a fun time!

This was a fun read that was well written and really steamy. This is the perfect weekend escape and summer get away.

The story was fine, the writing was bearable, and I liked the characters. I hated the epilogue. Anyway, I'm not mad I spent 7ish hours here, but I'm not sure I'd recommend it.

Sweet book, a little predictable and a bit too steamy but a good tale.
Enjoyed reading it. A new author for me.

This cover is FIRE and would have drawn me in on its own if I didn't already know I wanted it since it's Camilla Isley. I love all her books and this one definitely did not disappoint!

Perfect read when you just need to get away from it all. Loved the characters and the setting of the book.

I wish this book had more dialogue, more connection and I just think that was a personal issue for me. Overall, a very cute read.

3.25/5 stars! Umm...fans of contemporary romance will probably find this to be a decent read. I don't like cheating tropes and it made me feel icky for the rest of the book. I do tend to like books by this author however, so this could be a one-off for me.

3.75/5 stars! I do not like hipster men in books. I'm sorry, but I don't. I fully own that that can be slightly affecting my opinion of this story. Summer was a well-developed character but I just didn't like Archie at all. The story felt a bit predictable but it was still satisfying.

Summer Knowles committed a shocking act by engaging in a past affair with her best friend's boyfriend, causing her to lose friends and strain her family ties. Vowing to remain single forever, she faces the challenge of a week-long wedding celebration for her twin sister, Winter. The situation becomes more complicated when Archibald Hill, a philanderer and the best man, proposes a no-strings-attached week together as a distraction. What begins as a week of fun transforms into something deeper.

Despite feeling undeserving of forgiveness for her past mistakes, Summer undergoes remarkable personal growth, leading to redemption and a second chance. Archie, previously a noncommittal individual, experiences love and desire for something more. Although their connection may seem like instant love, unfolding rapidly over the course of a week, the story is filled with intense tension and chemistry. In the end, the author skillfully crafts characters that feel genuine and relatable, eliciting empathy and encouragement from readers. The captivating narrative kept me engaged from start to finish.

I didn't realise how inter-connected all her books are so I was a bit shocked to see returning characters. I liked this book better then the Love Quest. I prefer summer romance to winter and I like the banter more. Did Summer need to cheat with her best friends boyfriend? I feel like that was a bit too much for the plot.
