I’m not sure if I really liked the Earl of Stannis at the end but during his forgetful m period he was very sweet. His relationship with Georgie was tumultuous and towards the end very much in his favor. However, I did like the story! Georgie was a wonderful sister and she was a strong character.

A fresh, historical take on the classic 80s movie Overboard – I’m all for it!

The Earl of Stannis is the spoiled entitled aristocrat, Miss Georgianna Heyford is the put upon caterer cheated out of her money and wanting revenge. The Earl falls off his yacht and washes up in Georgie’s small town of Crandell.
“I am irrevocably certain that I do not live here” the Earl says aloud when seeing Georgie’s modest rundown manor house she shares with her three younger sisters. Payback time!

Stacy Reid does an excellent job of paying homage to the movie’s concept, making her story familiar but not predictable.

An Earl of Remember was delightful

I'm not a fan of the amnesia plot, but wanted to try to read this one as I saw it highly recommended by a fellow Bookstagrammer.
Unfortunately, it was not my favorite from Reid. To start with, I get that the MMC was being portrayed as a debauched and scandalous rogue, however to me it was icky. The scene where he was planning to sleep with 3 women at the same time? Completely lost me there.
Tbh, I generally skimmed through the whole story. The plot is nothing new; it's been done before and failed to retain my interest.

Thank you to the publisher for the ARC via Netgalley. All opinions are my own.

HUGE thank you to Entangled Publishing & NetGalley for this ARC!

I... loved this book. I always have so much fun reading Stacy Reid's books - this one did not disappoint! Georgianna & Daniel were DELISH; their feelings leapt off the page. 5 stars, no notes, LOVED IT!

I am a really simple woman at this point I see Stacy Reid has written something and I must read it. Her stories are always steamy, endearing, and romantic and this story did not disappoint. Daniel is swoon worthy while Georgianna has spunk and her family's escapades made me laugh. Hetty in particular and I loved the relation between Daniel and her younger sisters. I am excited to read the first in the series and hopefully Daniel's friends get their own stories I want more details from the epilogue. Thank you NetGalley and to the publisher for allowing me to read this ARC for my honest opinion.

Another amazing read from Stacy Reid. Daniel and Georgianna HEA was one fraught with many emotions. There were times that I was irritated about Daniel ‘s and Georgia’s actions but they were able to work it out. I enjoyed reading this book.

I love this trope, and Stacy Reid did an amazing job bringing us this wonderful story.

I loved Georgianna, she was your typical sweet, kind and self sacrificing Heroine, with the added bonus of a temper to go with it. And Daniel, he truly was a Rake, a very well written one. It's was amusing that the whole ordeal began because of the scandalous things his was saying about Georginna. In an effort to protect her reputation she blurts out that they're married. Rake that he was, I loved his sense of responsibility when he thought that they were married, his protectiveness and his wish to better their lives.

This was definitely enjoyable, it actually didn't click that this was kinda a sequel to A Matter of Temptation until I saw Mina and Simon, that was a nice surprise. Now I look forward to Moncrieffs story.

Thank you Netgalley and Entangled Publishing for this ARC, opinions are my own.

Rating: 3.5/5
Summary:

After being stiffed and nearly seduced by Daniel, the Earl of Stannis, Georgianna is shocked to see the same man wash up ashore in her small town, claiming not to remember who he is.... except he does remember Georgianna. To save her reputation and extract her revenge, she claims they're married and subjects Daniel to labor around her home and farm. What she does not count on is falling for a man she swore to hate... and someone who still doesn't how they actually met.

My review:

First off let me say, I appreciate that Stacy Reid made Daniel an unrepentant rake. You see the word thrown around a lot in historical romances, but very few HR heroes are actual rakes. Daniel here however has quite the reputation ("I heard he got three women pregnant from kissing alone!" one 21 year old said in a splendid imitation of me pre-5th grade health), is getting ready for a foursome when Georgianna accidentally walks in on him naked, has no qualms about seducing The Help (though it is a bit ham-handed of him to immediately ask Georgianna if she likes being chased lolol), and perhaps most importantly, has no issues asking Georgianna to be his mistress RIGHT AFTER he announces he will marry a more appropriate woman. I'll admit, a lot of what made Daniel an enjoyable hero for me is a) his natural sex appeal even when he was being taken advantage of by Georgianna and b) his more "problematic" behavior.

I'm equally appreciative of Stacy Reid making the heroine Georgianna problematic in her own way; the premise that she took advantage of an amnesiac and made him do farm labor definitely qualifies in my opinion (it also reminded me of the plot of Once More, My Darling Rogue by Lorraine Heath). And sure, I did sympathize with her because she was stiffed by the earl (though there's a careful distinction that is made in that the earl's vengeful mistress had a hand in this... but why Daniel believed her to begin is questionable; maybe he really is that dastardly to begin with), because of her family's financial situation, and her inability to make her catering dreams realized while still being seen as "respectable". But ultimately, Georgianna did a questionable thing. Did this detract from me liking her as a heroine? Nope.

A lot of the plot is mostly character-driven: Georgianna feels guilty about her actions even as she's very attracted to Daniel, and Daniel is experiencing character growth via farm work and being around Georgianna's sisters, all while struggling to regain his memory. Things pick up in the last quarter once Daniel regains his memory, which interestingly, happens earlier than I thought it would, and I actually think that made the plot more compelling (especially since Daniel's not done making questionable decisions regarding Georgianna; see: their "you'll be my village wife only" era).

The sex:

Daniel gives classic rake sex; he has this sensual presence and he's also very persistent, particularly when Georgianna is perpetually waffling between guilt and attraction. Daniel really does the most in terms of smooth seduction. For me, this meant well-written sex scenes with a decent amount of dirty talk, with nothing extremely unique or "weird" in terms of sex. Here's what worked for me:

a) Daniel's general confusion about how him and Georgianna haven't had sex if they're married. Like, this is the man who wakes up after being knocked out by the sea and the FIRST words out of his mouth are "I've tasted you" to Georgianna. He may have forgotten who he was, but he knows in his bones that he's a slutty man and therefore, how has he not... fucked his own wife? Right?

b) Daniel has what initially seemed like amnesia-induced headaches except he realizes they happen a lot when he's hard so..... they're horny headaches? blue ball headaches? I don't know but I found that hilarious.

c) The inexplicable (and yet somehow inevitable) wife kink Daniel develops, to the point where he's rejected any idea of marriage in his and Georgianna's future, but he's STILL calling her his wife while they fuck.

Overall:

I enjoyed this An Earl to Remember for the most part. Stacy Reid did a solid job with the main characters Daniel and Georgianna, who did a lot for me in terms of bringing the drama, and I'd overall recommend the book.

I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own. Thank you to Entangled Publishing for this ARC.

I will read anything Stacy Reid writes, even if it's a grocery list.

An Earl To Remember is a takeoff on the movie Overboard, but that's just the initial set up that really gets things going. Georgie first meets the titular earl on a yacht party that he is throwing for his mistress' birthday and they quickly develop an interest in each other. That being said, in a series of misunderstandings, Georgie gets fired by the earl, Daniel, and he ends up in the freezing water with no memory.

But where this book truly shines is once it is beyond the initial plot of Overboard and the characters have to face what they truly mean to each other and how they operate throughout the world with each other. Georgie is educated and talented, but she's not part of the ton that Daniel moves in, and Daniel has no concept of romantic love and how to express or handle that. The characters each have to grow and evolve in order to work with each other to create their love story.

I also adored Georgie's family and loved their dynamics with each other. My only sadness is how Lizzie's life plays out - though I know it's meant to be a happily ever after, I just wasn't a big fan of how things go for her. She deserved way better.

I adore Stacy Reid books, and An Earl to Remember may be my favorite to date!!! I loved it so much that I could barely put it down-- it was one of those books that I stayed up all night reading, and it was so good I had to slow down and read the last couple chapters in the morning after taking a little nap. A great weekend read!
The book is like a reverse-gender 80s movie, Overboard. Georgianna is an impoverished gently raised young woman, who is in charge of her late parents estate and three younger sisters. She is a brilliant cook, and has ambitions to write cookbooks and create recipes, and has no interest in marrying, like her aunt encourages her to do. She is hired to work at a yacht party that Daniel, Earl of Stannis is throwing. Through some miscommunications, pettiness and hijinks, Georgianna is let go on day one of the party, thinking that she is not going to get paid for the commission. Daniel is thrown off the yacht, while falling is injured, and is found at shore and only somewhat recognizes Georgianna. She takes the opportunity to say that he's her husband, to get recompensed from being fired.
At the beginning, I thought I may not like the main character, Daniel from first impressions. But he redeems himself pretty fast, and improves through the book where you love him as much as Georgianna does! Their chemistry is fantastic, and their times together make for a great story. The romance is palpable and so sweet! And you love Daniel even more with how he treats Georgianna's sisters-- especially little Anna, who is a gem and adds a lovely sweet, humorous note to the story. I love cute, precocious little kids in books!
If I had one quibble, I think some of the writing is a little stilted, but that may be ironed out at time of publication. The dialogue is kind of a choppy read, at parts-- mostly at the beginning and in a couple of places in between. It in no way takes away from the story or the emotion of it. It may have been because the last couple of books that I have read were not ARCs and a whole different genre of novels. I really, really enjoyed reading this one and can't wait to read more from this series! Loved this book.
I received An Earl to Remember as an ARC from Netgalley for my honest opinion, and I can't stop raving how much I enjoyed this one!

This is one of the really few times where I wish for a book to be longer.
There were many parts that I felt needed to be expended upon. I wish their life together at the manor were more extended, the scenes where Daniel was being protective of her and her sisters were true perfection, it made my heart warm to him after he was presented at the beginning as a bad man with no morals or values.
Both characters were super vivid and interesting, the author's writing is extremely easy to love, and I found it natural to envision how every character would look like. So far, Stacy Reid is one of the best in writing love interests that make readers swoon, you can't help but love them.
I would have loved more push and pull toward the end, maybe extra drama, too. However, the last quarter felt rushed, for a story this beautiful, I needed everything to be top notch.
But, overall, this is definitely one of the best I've read this year.

Stacy Reid always delivers spicy romances with characters that are flawed and unforgettable, this book was no exception! Daniel and Georgie come from two different social stratospheres but that doesn't stop them from falling in love. I read this book in one sitting!

Georgianna is fired from the Earl of Stannis' yacht party. He was thrown overboard and lost all his memory. The only thing he remembers is Georgianna. Eager for revenge, she claims to be his wife and makes him work off the money he owes her.

Like all the Stacy Reid books, this book is sensual and sexy. It's also fun. Reminds me a bit of the Goldie Hawn/Kurt Russell overboard 80s movie... Love all characters in the book. Great fun!

Thanks to the publsher for the arc.

I devoured this book, a fascinating story with two characters who are alive and flawed, but who you will come to love in the end.
