Overall, I give this book a 3.5/5! The characters were definitely very witty and sarcastic, and at times it felt very Star Wars-esque to me. A group of random people collected on a ship and traipsing all through the galaxy while unnamed villains chase after them. The plot definitely kept me guessing and there were some big twists in there that surprised me. It did feel like some aspects of the romantic relationships were forced, and there was a lot of chaotic back and forth of emotions that didn’t make the characters feel too complex. I feel like I still have a lot of questions left unanswered, but hopefully those will be cleared up in a sequel!

Thank you so very much to NetGalley, Red Tower Books / Etangled publishing and the authors Tracy Wolff and Nina Croft for an advanced copy of this eBook in return for my honest opinions.

What can I say? This book should be number one on everyone's must read list!

Everything about it says best seller!

The cast of characters is a diverse cast of misfits! They are all so very different, but lovable. I cried, I laughed, I yelled and screamed at them all. Just an overwhelming emotional rollercoaster.

The mystery elements were a plus. So many secrets revealed. No spoilers here, but wow!

The setting was spot on for this book.
Became emersed in this world. Still reeling!

Prayers we don't have to wait a whole year for book two!!!

Highly, highly recommend!!!

I'd just like to thank while simultaneously curse Tracy, Nina, and Entangled Publishing for this absolutely brilliant work of art. This book made me and broke me all at once. I'm in love and heartbroken. It was amazing, I need to go buy the hardcover immediately. I'll be over here curled up in a ball crying and laughing while I await the next book. I don't know what I'm going to do in the meantime.

Whatever is in these Red Tower books is GIVING! I don't usually read Sci-Fi, but this one had me hooked. I loved the idea of a band of misfits coming together for the greater good. It felt like the Breakfast club meets space odyssey which was so fun. I liked each of the characters and thought the alternating POV's really added to the story. It was a little slow for me at points, but overall I appreciated all the background information to round everything out. The LGBTQ+ rep was cool and Beckett is an absolute bad-ass—so let's be real, I loved her. I didn't predict either of the twists and was definitely thrown when I read them. I was rooting for these characters on their quest and I loved the two romance sub plots. I can't believe the cliff-hanger were left on and I'm excited to read the rest of the series! Thank you to Red Tower Books for sending me an e-ARC to read and review.

At this point, if Tracy’s name is on a book I’m going to read it. I don’t even care what the genre is, I’ll read it. She’s such a phenomenal writer and all of her books are absolutely amazing. We have a great cast of characters in this one (seriously, they were absolutely amazing and I loved them), and multiple POVs for our MC’s that I flew through with a vengeance.

As I’ve come to expect from Tracy the writing was incredible and the pacing was perfection, and it put my poor emotions through the damn ringer. I’ve not read anything else by Nina Croft but I certainly will be now!

After the rollercoaster ride and an ending like that I’m in desperate need of book two.

Thank you to Red Tower and Entangled Publishing for the e-arc.

Thank you to Entangled for an e-arc of this book!

As many of you know, I'm not a sci-fi girlie. Every once in a while I get into the mood to try a sci-fi book, and I think in this case it was a "me" issue, not the book. Because the book is fantastically written. Croft and Wolff are amazing coauthors, and this book had a tight plot, interesting characters and a dynamic enviornment.

I think the two biggest things that got me were the fact I started zoning out when it got more sci-fi like (I'm a mood reader, so I may like this better at some other point) and the pacing.

This book is 600 pages long. A LOT happens in those 600 pages, and to me, I think more than the sci fi, it was the pacing that got me. I struggled with it, because some parts felt super drawn out, and others went so quickly.

Overall, I did like the book, but I'm just wondering if my mood wasn't the best when I read it. I'm certainly not opposed to reading it again, and I am interested to see what happens next.

In a world where the sun is dying and threatening the lives of people on many planets, the Empress sends her only daughter off planet to a space station that just might have the answers to save everyone. Cue some mayhem and now an unlikely group is escaping the damage. No one trusts each other. You have a princess, a priestess, a bodyguard, two mercs, a prisoner, and a corporation member. The devastation and hilarity that ensues is nonstop. A super quick read for 600+ pages. Add a little bit of spice and it’s a solid 4.5 stars. Because no one likes half stars I gave it a 5 because it’s certainly not a 4.

You know those books that you pick up and you just know they're going to stay with you for a really, really long time? Yeah, Star Bringer is that. Tracy Wolff and Nina Croft have crafted an absolutely enthralling story that is sure to leave you addicted to turning those pages. I wouldn't have ever classified myself as a sci-fi lover but this guaranteed that I won't be so closed minded moving forward with the genre. Now, onto the stuff you really care about as a reader wondering if you should pick up this book-

In a time where life as they know it is set to be doomed if a fix for the sun dying isn't discovered soon the last thing anyone expected was an explosion trapping a "Breakfast Club" style group of mismatched people on would can only be described as space junk in the shape of a ship. In a delicious premise of nothing and no one is what you believed, this is one story that keeps the punches rolling. Wolff and Croft wrote in a style that flows and ebbs so incredibly flawlessly that the story full surrounds you from page one.

Kali, daughter of the empress, doesn't quite fit the mold her mother so desperately is trying to shove her in. Facing the 'real-world' for the very first time in her life and looking to her memories of her father as guidance, slowly the darkness of life starts to brighten reveal that the monsters her mother has painted all these years, might now be the real enemies. Rain, high-priestess, and her bodyguard Merrick are quite the confusing duo as lessons in blind faith can lead to true salvation. Ian and Max are two peas in a pod who come to captain and dominate the ship, holding quite the close secret and refusing to stop for anyone on their mission to save Milla. Last but not least, to complete the pack of misfits is Gage, a former member of the Corporation and Beckett, an escaped prisoner turned pilot of the space junk.

With no shortage in tension, drama, near-death experiences- Star Bringer offers more than just action packed pages. Somewhere along the way, the reader falls in love with these characters and are able to find the humor in this solar-system excursion they've started on. With laughter, banter, love, and sacrifice, this multi-pov story offers some personal insight into how our born circumstances doesn't always paint an accurate picture of the type of human we are. Wolff and Croft lead the readers through twists, turns, and betrayals like never before bringing you close to the edge of chaos before snatching you back to safety.

If there's anything this team has learned on their journey though, it's the comfort of safety doesn't last long when the corrupt are hunting you down. An ending that leaves you running through every emotion in the book, now the only thing to do is wait for the announcement of a book two.

The description of this book is pretty much spot on, breakfast club meets firefly in a really fun intriguing way. The story follows a group of 7 people with quite a few hidden secrets as they escape on a stolen spacecraft and figure out how to align their interests and accomplish their goals. There are aliens, evil mothers and quite a few high speed chase scenes.

I thought this book was really fun, the characters were all complex and extremely likable. At times I felt the narrative was a bit too young and the use of modern day slang felt a little off but overall I enjoyed it!

Thanks to Net Galley and Entangled Publishing for the eARC.

I really liked this book and can see it being made into a movie! I laughed, cried, squealed with joy, and could not put this book down!

Star Bringer is an action packed deep space fantasy adventure with romance sprinkled throughout. The book takes place in the Senestris Solar system, which is currently suffering from a dying sun. The crown princess of the nine planets in the system along with representatives from other planets gather on a space station for the unveiling of the solution to the dying sun problem. Things at the station go left and suddenly the princess and others are fighting for their lives and to get off the station. Those that escape come to form a rag tag group and this begins a sequence of space adventures. I quickly found myself adoring this band of misfits and loving their different personalities as they came together against attackers.

I especially love Rain and Beckett. Rain is the most pure and adorable character and together her and Becket are a cute pairing. It was nice to see a female/female couple in addition to the traditional male/female couple in a romantasy. There is some spice in the story, and it is a slow burn that develops over the course of the book.

As a whole, this story has many twists and turns and touches on themes of class divides, coming of age, and learning to question situations that do not seem right.

Star Bringer was fantastic, and I can’t wait for the next book in this installment and to get some answers to my burning questions! I highly recommend this book to fantasy lovers!

Thank you Entangled and Red Tower for my complimentary eARC. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

What a super fun and exhilarating read ! When I started this book I faced a huge dilemma; binge or savor? I heard such great things about Star Bringer and I could not wait to jump in and enjoy the ride. But the further I got in the book the more I set it aside after each chapter. I did not want the adventure to end.

I loved seeing how all the characters adapted and changed during the story. The multiple POVs was not all confusing. Though I see everywhere mention of the 7 misfits/characters, I believe there should be 8! The spaceship should be able to tell her POV. She is a pivotal character. I would love to know more about her.

The love stories are perfect for romance lovers. The adventure and intrigue are perfect for Star Wars and SciFi fans. The ending leaves you wanting more and I cannot wait to see what happens to our merry band of misfits.

Star Bringer is a book so many people will enjoy !

This was absolutely amazing!

What a bingable, merry band of misfits story with some wonderful romance & sci-fi/space elements. This would be a great book for readers wanting to dip their toes in the SFF genre. It has the classic elements without being overly technical or scientific.

I really enjoyed this and it was truly an honor to be an ARC reader as I read and adore Tracy's 'Crave' series.
TYSM for the ARC, this will definitely be featured in one of my weekly book giveaways on tiktok to help promote it around release date.

The intricate and brilliant plot left me speechless and the suspense was everything, I was on the edge of my seat with my heart in my throat. The characters are so unique, different and so interesting, love them, and the way in which they created strong bonds of friendship, they are a quirky crew but so amazing, they took me on a journey of action, adventures, secrets, and the romance is off the charts, slow burn, so perfect, I was so enraptured reading, I never wanted it to end. It's phenomenal!

This book kept me up past my bedtime not once, but twice. I was totally consumed by the story.
It has everything you could possibly want in a story.
-Action
-Romance
-Political intrigue
-Amazing sci-if elements
-Forced proximity
-Found family
-Enemies to lovers
-Grumpy/sunshine
And so much more.

But the thing that captured my attention even more than the story was this ragtag group of characters.
“A princess, a prisoner, a con artist, a warrior, a priestess, a mercenary, and an asshole in charge of us all.”

-The Princess, Kalinda: Kalinda is relatable for anyone who grew up sheltered and was suddenly thrust into the real world. Her character growth is amazing and I thoroughly enjoyed reading about her becoming who she was meant to be.
-The prisoner, Beckett: Beckett had a really rough go of things through most of the story. It was so sweet to see her try to open up and become part of the group, as well as open herself up to love.
-The con artist, Gage: He felt like comic relief a lot of the time. I enjoyed his character and the goofy things he got into.
-The warrior, Merrick: Merrick is like the grumpy uncle of the group. I absolutely loved him. The way he protected everyone throughout the story made me love him even more.
-The priestess, Rain: Rain was the absolute cutest. She was a little bundle of sunshine and her enthusiasm for being out in the world (after staying at a monastery her whole life) was infectious.
-The mercenary, Max: Max was the voice of reason for a lot of the characters and the friendly face they could all count on when things were tough.
-The asshole and captain of this little adventure, Ian: Ian was exactly what you would want in a morally grey, tall, dark, and handsome kind of character. He was fiercely protective of the people he loved and eventually even had a soft spot for his new friends.

Thank you so much to Entangled Publishing for giving me an ARC copy via NetGalley. All of these thoughts and comments are my own. Possible spoilers ahead.

This was so good. I really loved everything about this. The characters were fantastic. It has a great plot. I was literally laughing, gasping, crying, and swooning during this whole book. I had very high expectations because I really love this author and I wasn’t disappointed. There was even spice and like good spice!!!

I’m really excited to see where she takes this series from here. I’m praying Beckett is still okay. She’s crazy but I really love her. Also, I don’t know if I can take losing anyone else, so please don’t harm my little group of misfits. I also really love the love interests in this. I need me an over protective “Ian”.

5 stars!!!

Logistics: I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

To the real business at hand: Wow. This book really wowed me. Tracy Wolff’s Crave series was never my thing but her and Nina Croft really put their foot into this Sci-Fi New Adult novel.

The book holds multiple perspectives all of which are from the band of misfits that are tasked with saving their world and themselves. Each character compliments the others in their own way. Not one person in this story felt unnecessary.

There is very intricate world building, language, and overall plot throughout. Character development and arcs were *chefs kiss*. I absolutely could have gone without the cliff hanger because how freaking long do I have to wait? But I loved this story. I love Kali and Ian - and Beckett… and Rain… and well you get the picture?

I highly recommend this book to sci-fi and fantasy lovers. The action does not disappoint.

If you love space adventure, morally gray characters, naive characters who have yet to see the universe plus some crazy twists, you will love this book. This is in my top reads for 2023. And I need everyone to read it so I can talk about it.

I think marketing at Entangled/Red Tower was spot on with their tagline: Firefly meets the Breakfast Club.

A princess, a priestess, a warrior, a prisoner, a con artist, a mercenary and an asshole who is in charge of them all. Forced proximity at it's finest on a piece of junk spaceship. One this spaceship is lack of trust, hate, sarcasm, definitely some secret pining (and lots of tension), drinking and explosions.

The chemistry between Ian and Kali was the best. He fell first (and hard). Loved that Beckett and Rain got some action as well.

This adventure was so much fun. I need more of their of story, please.
