Actual Rating: 4.75 — this was definitely my favorite out of the series, there was just so much build up between Sloane and Lucian and I was looking forward to it. The only reason it’s not quite a 5 star is because Lucian sometimes was just too frustrating with how he acted and his unrealized feelings. Other than that I liked how we saw into the past and got to experience it rather than just be told what happened (even though it was tough to read). I liked the build up and tension between them and all the banter (Lucifer, not today Satan, etc.). I loved how all the loose ends were tied up completely and we got answers to all things surrounding Nash’s shooting, Lucian’s mom, the list, and Anthony Hugo. I LOVED the ending and all the emotions it evoked. I loved the bonus content and extra insight into their futures. It was overall a really great book and I highly recommend this series for those who love small town interconnected romances, with good plots and amazing chemistry!

An absolute perfect end to one of my favorite series of all time. Lucian and Sloane's romance was exactly what I wanted it to be with the tension and the spice and the angst. And the way Lucian just switches and the end and how he acts for the rest of the book? I was absolutely swooning. I am going to miss the Knockemout series more than I thought possible and I hope in the future we get Waylay's book!!

Thank you #netgalley for a copy in exchange for my honest review

I was so excited to read this book early. I’ve loved the other two Knockemout books and the build up to Sloane and Lucien’s story has been intense! I was looking forward to banter, angst, and the reveal of the couple’s emotional backstory. Unfortunately the buildup didn’t meet my expectations. I also found the book to be unnecessarily long with portions that seemed to drag on. Glad I read it but not my favorite of the series.

I’ve had this series on my list and was so excited to read it! I gobbled it up as soon as I began The Things We Never Got Over, and while that book still holds first place in my heart, I loved getting Lucian and Sloane’s story. Their chemistry was so
good, and I loved the way they sorted out their past issues and gave it a chance. Their banter was top notch that had me laughing so much!

WHAT TO EXPECT
-grumpy x sunshine
-childhood friends to lovers
-small town
-emotional
-spicy

*thank you Bloom Books and Netgalley for the gifted copy for review

The best book in the trilogy! The build-up for this couple was so great throughout the series and the story didn't disappoint. The duel timelines gave a plausible reason as to why they were "enemies", so the journey to lovers was even sweeter.

I really enjoyed the first two books in this series, so I wanted to love Things We Left Behind as well, but unfortunately this book just wasn’t for me. There were too many unnecessary plot points that dragged on that had me feeling bored and it felt 200 pages too long.

I absolutely adore the Knockemout series and this may be my favorite of the three. This is Lucian and Sloane’s story and the chemistry was absolutely sizzling. They both have a lot to deal within their past but they eventually find their way back to each other and learn to love despite the difficulties they faced. It’s definitely GrumpyxSunshine with some childhood friends and a second chance romance. This story was both heartbreaking and satisfying and it was nice to finally see their story after the snippet from Book 1.

Finally, we get the scoop on Lucien and Sloan's backstory – something I've been curious about, and I bet you have too!

Their dynamic is so intriguing, especially since they have a shared history growing up in neighboring houses. Throughout the first two books of the Knockemout series, we've been left wondering why they can't stand each other. And yes, that means the Morgan brothers and the rest of the gang are back in action in the last of the series..

If you're a fan of the series so far, "Things We Left Behind" is an absolute must-read. Lucy Score nails it with Lucien and Sloan's story, and she ties up the whole series beautifully.

A big thank you to NetGalley and Bloom Books for giving me the chance to read this novel in exchange for my honest thoughts. Trust me, you won't want to miss it!

The Facts: Enemies to lovers, grumpy vs sunshine vibes, touch her and d!e, flashbacks, oodles and oodles of sexual tension, suit daddy.

A regret that I have? That it took me SO long to read this. However, I'm really happy that this was my first read of 2024 (yes, I'm really late on my reviews.) I wanted to read this so badly when it first came out, but my brain refused to let me because y'all, I'm SO sad that this series is over.

This book was perfection. It's definitely my favorite out of the books (but Naomi and Knox will always have a special place in my heart.) This book was funny, sexy, sad, and had action. There was never a dull moment. I am living for Suit Daddy AKA Lucian. He was the moment. The sexual tension between Lucian and Sloane was sexual tensioning, and I went wild over it. The banter was amazing.

This is a series that I will reread every year. It feels like home.

Sidenote, I'm really hoping for a Waylay book in the future.

this was such a fun end to the knockemout series and honestly might be my favorite of the three! things we left behind follows sloane and lucian who we get to see a bit of already in the previous two books and I was already intrigued in their storyline before even starting this book. this book is childhood friends to enemies to lovers which was SO GOOD and I loved getting to see the occasional flashback to their teen years in between to get some more context into their complex relationship. I am a sucker for a second chance romance and so I absolutely ate this story up.

one of my favorite parts of this book was the banter which was actually top tier. their jabs at each other were so funny but you could also simultaneously see just how well they knew each other and cared for each other throughout, even when they didn't quite get along. their relationship was so deeply rooted and it was so special to see them find their way back to each other. each character was also really well developed and I loved seeing their individual personalities shine through beyond the romance which was of course at the forefront. also loved getting the conclusion to the action/mystery from the previous books because it kept me hooked throughout and added another layer to the story beyond just their relationship.

ultimately, I really enjoyed this book and honestly flew through it despite it being 600+ pages! it is definitely VERY spicy which is not necessarily my cup of tea so keep that in mind when going into the book but I enjoyed it regardless. the little reveals and moments where you just realize how much they care for each other despite their tension and troubled history was just so fun and had me squealing at times. definitely recommend this one because it's a great end to the series!

thank you again @read_bloom & @rick_283 for sending me a copy of this book. this book had me kicking my feet and giggling, lucian and sloanes banter is everything EVERYTHING I tell you, ugh I love them. I absolutely enjoyed this book and I would have given it 5 stars but a few too many moments that made me cringe, frustrating or mad so I knocked it down a star but regardless this was probably my favorite book from the series. I’m so sad it’s over but ugh I love them & this series. I really enjoyed this one!

I did not realize when I signed up for this that it was not a stand alone, so I had to go back and start from the beginning. It is a time commitment, not going to lie, but so worth it! There is a reason Lucy Score is on the New York Times best seller list! This book (this series) was so well written, the characters so well developed, its addicting. And after reading all 3 books, all that time, you're left feeling, now what? in the best way. Don't be intimidated by the length, but make sure you start with Things We Never Got Over!

I love Lucy score so much and this was such a highly anticipated read that absolutely didn’t disappoint!! Sloane and Lucian had me on my knees for them at every moment, I was so obsessed!! Their chemistry and Lucy’s signature slow burn made this book unputdownable!!

MY THOUGHTS:
First things first. Can we take a moment to appreciate this Goodreads rating?! This book published in September 2023 & has maintained a 4.45 rating 🤯😮‍💨 Clearly I’m not the only one who LOVED this romance! 😍

Sloane and Lucian’s story was one I was DYING to read!! I knew dark & mysterious Lucian mixed with sassy & stubborn Sloane would bring insane chemistry… and whew, it sure did! 😩🙌 These two had such a strong magnetic pull and angst that made this an addicting read. ❤️‍🔥 Understanding the characters’ backstories really brought so much emotion. I love Score’s writing because she always finds humor, found family, and emotional tension in every story she writes. 🥺 I am so pleased with how this series ended. I can’t wait to see what Score writes next! She’s an auto-buy author for me 🤓

RATING EXPLAINED:
This book was a lot of dang pages you guys 🥲😂 Don’t get me wrong… I still ate this romance up, but every book in this series was sooooo looong. (Book 1 remains my FAVE. That one actually didn’t feel long & I flew through it!) In the end, I feel so happy with Sloane & Lucian’s story being the perfect “cherry-on-top” to wrap up this series!! 🥹🍒 Highly recommend!

Oh My Gosh LUCY SCORE!!! What a wonderful end to this series. This childhood friends to enemies to lovers story was masterfully done with some of the best tension I've read this year. The PINING the YEARNING the WANT I just can't. And the scene after Sloane gets hurt??? TOP TIER.

In summary, I love with book with all of my heart

Thank you Netgalley for this ARC! I have really enjoyed the Knockemout series but book 2 fell a little flat for me. I almost didn’t read book 3 but I’ve had a thing for Lucian Rollins since book 1 so I’m so glad I read this one! For anyone disappointed in book 2, read this one! You won’t regret it. Lucian and Sloane Watson have been best friends since childhood. They were next door neighbors so they knew each other’s secrets and kept them from everyone else. That is until Lucian’s secret threatens to harm his future, and Sloane has no choice but to intervene. In doing so, she breaks a promise to him that he never forgives her for. Fast forward to the future and Sloane and Lucian are frenemies. They tolerate each other for the sake of their mutual friends but bicker and fight nonstop over mundane issues. When their bickering turns to foreplay, they decide that a one night stand is the only way to put out the flame they have for one another once and for all. In order for these two to have a future, they must reconcile with the past. So steamy, so sweet, everything I hoped for to end this series!

While I don't love how long the books are in this series I must admit I can't help falling for the incredible cast of small town characters with lots of traumatic histories. This latest enemies to lovers, dual POV, second chance romance is between the town Librarian, grieving her recently deceased father and the grumpy boy next door who got away after he believed she betrayed him when they were kids. Another slow burn, with great banter, some suspense and lots of hot sex plus an incredibly satisfying epilogue! Good on audio too! Many thanks to NetGalley and the publisher for an early digital copy in exchange for my honest review!
