An enchanting story of magic swirling around family secrets, doubts, and love. The will of Lillith, Mattie’s mother and Penelope’s sister, is full of riddles that baffle Mattie and Penelope. It draws them to analyze their choices and face a different reality. Along the way, Mattie reconnects with Jonathan-a boy she dreamed of long ago, now a man. Is everything that happens a coincidence or something magically orchestrated by Lillith? A truly bewitching novel.
I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

A cute little story full of magical and realism and mystery. There is a lot of books with magical realism that for some reason always adds some aspect of food as well. This was done well in this story. A new author to me and look forward to seeing more from her.

3.5 stars
Enchanting and heartwarming and magical. It read like a hallmark movie. I was hoping for more of a mother/daughter story (as it felt more advertised as that) rather than a romance, but it was still very good.
The writing was beautiful and I really enjoyed the characters. Perfect little cozy book for the start of my holiday season.

Encanto for adults! The Magic All Around was such a magical book. It's right there in the title, but I also felt so enchanted with the characters and storyline within its pages. The way everything comes together was perfectly done. I spent a chunk of time thinking about Lilith, especially, long after the book concluded. Pick this book up if you're looking to smile!

Jennifer Moorman's "The Magic All Around" is a heartwarming book with a healthy dose of magic. The story is told from the perspective of Penelope, her niece Mattie, and Mattie's high school sweetheart, Jonathan. Now grown up, Mattie and Jonathan reconnect when Mattie's mother and Penelope's sister, Lilith, unexpectedly passes away. Mattie expects to pop in for the funeral and disappear again, but she learns that Lilith planned a series of seemingly arbitrary tasks she has to complete before receiving her inheritance. As aunt and niece reconnect, they both rediscover love -- and themselves -- in a variety of ways.
There are no high-conflict scenes or shocking plot twists in this story, and that's the fun of it. It's like drinking a warm cup of tea: simple, comforting, and delicious. The characters are unique and believable and the story is engaging. I'll be buying a copy for my sister-in-law to enjoy as well. 5 stars!

The Magic All Around is a book that explores themes of family relationships, discovering one's self, and finding love. Set in a small town, two things bring Mattie and Jonathan back to Ivy Ridge: a family death and a major health scare of a parent.
While there were some aspects of this book that I liked, I don't think this was the right book for me. I don't have a problem with slower-paced books, but it took about halfway into the book for the plot to progress, which made the other half of the story, where things finally got moving, feel way too fast and rushed, which kept me from fully getting invested in the story and the characters. I did enjoy Mattie and Jonathan's interactions (the chapter where there's a flashback to when/where/how they first met was so sweet, and I loved it).
Another thing that threw me was the "magical" qualities of the house and of its residents. It didn't really fit the contemporary genre to me and felt more like fantasy. I think the story would have worked better had the magical quality aspect been removed from the storyline.
All in all, I think that this book would definitely appeal to some readers, so if the premise sounds interesting to you, then go ahead and give this book a try! This book just wasn't for me, and that's okay--not every book is :)
Thank you to NetGalley and the author for an eARC of The Magic All Around. A positive review was not required, only my honest opinion. All thoughts are expressly my own.

What a lovely novel about family, love and many other things.
I enjoyed this so much that parts of it made me cry. You'll definitely want a box of tissues.
For a long time I felt like Mattie after her mom passed away. Where was home? This was what Mattie was sent on her life's journey to find out what it meant. I loved how Lilith left many clues. In a way it's almost like a squavenger hunt for clues as to who Mattie really is.
In some ways I'm still questioning it. Is it where your heart is? Is it where you come from or where God is?
I liked to think it's where God is.
The author has done very well with this delightful novel. It started out slowly so I almost didn't finish it but now I'm glad I did. I really did enjoy this sweet novel of love and family.
5 stars for a job well done and for leaving my heart full and satisfied.

Thanks to NetGalley for the ARC. i really enjoyed this book. A feel good story with a whimsical touch. Perfect read if your looking to get caught up in a good story and escape reality for a bit

This book is so beautiful and heartwarming. I just wanted to be hugged by my mom after reading this! This book about mothers and daughters will just melt you!

I had very high hopes for this book and found myself disappointed in the end. I did not expect this to be a romance novel. I wanted it to be about mothers and daughters, about legacies and family and magic and finding your own path. Instead, it was pretty much a Hallmark Christmas movie, but it took place in the fall instead of December. There was a picturesque small town full of endearing side characters, the rekindling of lost love for all three POV characters, and a kooky scavenger hunt that brings them all together. Extreme eye-roll that Mattie's journey to identify and connect with her birth father was given less emotional weight than her relationship with the HIGHLY arrogant "boy next door". No thanks.
Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for access to a digital ARC in exchange for my honest review.

What a lovely book! For fans of light romance, magic and small town goodness. If you enjoy books by Heather Webber and Sarah Addison Allen, you'll enjoy this one.

Magic all around!!! The first half of the book was a very slow burn for me!! I def got way more into the second half of the book. I didn’t love how slow the book was and there was little magic. I feel as though the book being so slow in the beginning made the second half feel very rushed. I loved the idea of Mattie going on this big hero quest!!!

The Magic All Around is a perfect, cozy read. Almost like a Hallmark movie but without all the cheesy dialogue and rushed production. I seriously enjoyed this book- it was a mystery without the nail-biting edge of being a thriller, a romance without the vulgarity of scenes better left unwritten, magical without being overly paranormal, a book about a family women without pettiness and unnecessary drama to fill the pages with contention. It was like taking a Sunday stroll that reliably and faithfully takes the reader from point A to point B; there were surprises, but the unexpected plot twists were more like looking up and marveling at a hummingbird who’s come to say hi than the fall out of your seat kind of startling. This book was cozy and delightful, and if you’re looking for a book that is entertaining and enjoyable and not at all triggering, this is the one.
The book is told from three different perspectives and opens as one of the Russell women, Lilith suddenly and unexpectedly passes away. Her daughter, Mattie, returns to Lilith’s childhood home to pick up the pieces with her aunt Penelope. After the funeral, we find that Lilith knew more than she let on and she left a trail of signs for the Mattie to follow while meeting friends, learning to trust in love and people, the meaning of family, and what it means to be planted and grow roots.
I’d like to thank Harper Muse and NetGalley for the eARC in exchange for my honest review. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

This is a great book. It touches on magic, family and love. It's so whimsical!
Thank you to Netgalley and the publisher for allowing me to read this arc in exchange for an honest review!

The title of this novel is so aptly fit because it is so magical. As I was reading this book I felt both my heart and mind expanding. I didn’t want the beautiful story to end

The Magic All Around is cozy, comforting, and of course full of magic. Its one neck of an enjoyable read.
Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for the advanced digital copy.

I have never read a more accurate description from a publisher than this, "This enchanting and whimsical tale of mothers and daughters, home, and love will open readers’ eyes to the magic all around them." I absolutely adored this novel of family and magic. The small town atmosphere and quirky characters held my interest long after the last page. As a person who lost their mother too young myself, this book really touched me and I more than enjoyed watching Mattie learn to engage with the outside world in a new way and reframe what her future could be.

Would've appreciated having had the option of looking at an excerpt for this—the writing and it's pace weren't for me.

I enjoyed this novel even more than Jennifer Moorman's previous novel.
"The Magic All Around" is an enchanting story that highlights the transformative power of love and family. All of the characters are super entertaining, and you can tell Moorman crafted their characteristics with a lot of forethought and planning. I especially enjoyed following along Mattie's journey. The tasks she must complete keep the story moving in a lovely way and she really changes as she unravels various family secrets. The romance storyline is sweet and heartwarming.
Recommended for fans of the wonderful Sarah Addison Allen.
I look forward to more from this author.
I received a complimentary e-galley from the publisher and NetGalley in exchange for my review; all opinions are my own.

The Magic All Around was sweet, hopeful and captivating, exploring family, love, and secrets.
When Mattie’s mom unexpectedly passed away, she returns to the town her mom grew up in, for the support of her family, with no intention of staying. As she begins to discover their extraordinary talents, she’ll face the biggest question of her life. Where is home when home was always wherever her mom had been?
This novel hit the sweet spot between magic and reality that many miss. It had childlike wonder with Mattie always having believed her families “gifts” were an exaggeration to tell a good story and never being aware of her own particular talents.
It was beautiful and sweet, emotional and hopeful. My favorite character might have truly been the house.
Thank you sincerely to NetGalley and Harper Muse, as well as Jennifer Moorman for this beautiful tale. I received a complimentary copy of this book in exchange for an honest review. Opinions expressed in this review are completely my own.
