Cormac Stockwell, Marquess of Burness, experiences the magic of the moonstones. Miss Phoebe Killgrew gives him what for because of his scandalous guests. This is nothing but a bad influence on his nieces. Stunned by her set to, he immediately asks her to marry him. Phoebe doesn't trust him, but his sweetness to her and the girls makes it impossible not to. He never can resist his little ducklings. A slow journey for two people to trust in each other and believe in love. Some heat, but mostly hot kisses.
Very sweet and very funny.

Brilliantly written by Meara, this book is absolutely spellbinding, I couldn’t put it down, every page had another touching moment or funny predicament.
Cormac the Marquess, what’s not to love about this guy, even when he’s drunk he’s awesome, funny, breathtaking or downright hilarious.
Phoebe, she’s a lioness protecting what is hers, defending her self, or Cormac, even if it’s from himself, or an Ex.
The kids, wow so adorable, they make this book in parts, so cute, and there is no telling what will come out of their mouths next, a funny comment or lunch.
You’re in for the best treat, enjoy!
I received an Arc copy of this book and chose to post this review

The Moonstone Marquess by Meara Platt is a historical romance novel that tells the story of Lady Phoebe Killigrew and Cormac Stockwell, Marquess of Burness. Lady Phoebe is appalled by the scandalous country parties their new neighbor, a war hero marquess, is holding at his estate in Moonstone Landing. She has every intention of keeping well away from him until a governess arrives at her door with his two orphaned nieces. When she storms over to demand he reform his ways or she will not give them over to him, she is unprepared for the feelings he stirs in her.
It’s a heartwarming story about love and redemption that will leave you feeling satisfied, I loved the epilogue and Cormac may be my new favorite book hero, he is hot. I received an ARC from NetGalley and Dragonblade Publishing, and I voluntarily read & reviewed this book; all thoughts & opinions are my own.

What an absolutely original and lovely story this is! Phoebe is a spitfire who takes no guff from anyone, especially a drunken neighbor whose nieces she has. It was truly interesting to get to understand the problems an amputee has to go through. I never thought of some of the things the author created and it was very eye-opening. To watch Cormac grow in his relationship with himself as well as Phoebe is a testament to what love can do. I loved the secret visitors as well. Well written, well paced and well thought out. It was hilarious how the villain got theirs too!
I received this ARC copy for free and these are my own opinions

The rake, the lioness & his wee ducklings!
There's always a magical quality about Platt's romances that suck you in and make you believe wholeheartedly in the wonder of love at first sight...or should that be love at first hearing. And Phoebe blistering Cormac about his disreputable behaviour, in the defence of his newly arrived impressionable little nieces, was not only priceless but instantly radiated with tangible chemistry. That sang with smile inducing, blush rising, heartmelting and gut-wrenching undertones, that built and matured delightfully throughout, from that first heady setdown and recognition of finding 'the one'.
Although, it wasn't the enemies to lovers tale I was expecting, after reading book 1, as the enemy predominantly manifested from within...in their own doubts, or depression...it felt right for the characters and became a really fun spot of, in the moment, escapism that really put a smile on my face. As they fought to conquer not just the internal demons that plagued our war hero due to the loss of his arm, but in the overwhelming, deep, attraction he sparked in Phoebe that scared her witless due to his rakehell, scoundrel, reputation and fear she is nothing more than a passing fancy. Adding a fun, emotionally engaging undercurrent to the witty banter, sweet playful moments with the girls, teasing flirtation, heavily-loaded-heat-packed looks and honest anguish that pushed and pulled them together in such a sweet, they even made me cry, way. As we focus more on the emotional, character driven, change evoking, journey the pair embarked upon, with a spot of manipulative scheming and questionable friends interwoven within to add to the insecurities, uncertainties and internal conflict afoot. To make this an emotionally entangling path to salvation, love and happiness with a stop off to seek and nurture much needed trust along the way between two strong personalities that grow and flourish to become the perfectly imperfect balance for each other.
I really am enjoying my time in the idealic village of Moonstone Landing, with its in each others pocket, well-meaning meddling community feel, that the place resonants so clearly. Where I really do hope for a match between Chloe and Lieutenant Brennan next, two too young at the minute but with so much potential to be perfect for each other as they grow into their own. Fingers crossed the magic continues!

Delightful.
Cormac transforms himself from a rakehell to a decent, upstanding gentleman in order to win the love and trust of Lady Phoebe. Cormac is rather on the spoilt side and used to getting his own way but the loss of his arm has dented his self-confidence and arrogance and it was nice to see how Phoebe changes him for the better. I adored the epilogue.
I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book from NetGalley. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

Before reading this book, I invested in the first of this series The Moonstone Duke. I loved the characters of Hen and Cain and by extension Cormac whom we meet briefly in the first book. This is Cormac and Phoebes' story and is a lovely continuation of the Killigrew family story. Platt makes it impossible not to love her characters, the sisters Killigrew are funny, kind, a bit naughty and their heroes are slightly imperfect even though they are rich and titled. These are lovely stories, easy to read in one sitting. My grateful thanks to Netgalley, Dragonblade Publishing and the author for a really nice gentle read.

Meara Platt is one of my favorite authors. There isn't a book yet that I have read written by her that I didn't absolutely adore. I was extremely fortunate to receive an ARC of The Moonstone Marquess from Netgalley. Cormac Stockwell, Marquess of Burness has recently purchased a home near one of his friend's (a duke) home in Moonstone Landing. Phoebe Killigrew is said Duke's sister in law and is horrified when she first meets Corman, reeking of alcohol, with his debauched lady friend's hanging out of his home windows barely clothed. Fantastically, all Cormac does is kiss Phoebe and tell her to marry him. Ever since Cormac lost one of his arms, he has been a grumpy grouchy fella to say the least. However, after meeting his little lioness Phoebe, he now has the desire to become a better man for her sake. This story is a beautifully written tale about living with one's faults, trying to correct them as well as misunderstandings that arise because of what appears to be true rather than what actually is the truth. I also adored Cormac's interactions with his two young nieces. A great read!

A lovely story and engaging romance. I was taken by Phoebe and Cormac, both wonderful characters. I am so enchanted by Moonstone Landing.

Thank you to NetGalley and the author for an ARC. I was in the mood for a regency romance and this was such a great read. It was an engaging and quick read. I read it within 2 days. I really enjoyed the banter between the main characters. I also enjoyed seeing how Cormac matured and healed after his war trauma. The characters had a great love story. Also the side characters in the story and the whole town were developed pretty well. I could really imagine the town and all the different people in it. I personally would go live there in a heartbeat. :)

When love finds the damaged rake, Cormac, Marquess of Burness, in the former of Lady Phoebe, she knocks him for a loop, quite literally! Although he has been hearing about her from her brother-in-law, he is completely unprepared for the spitfire he finds in person who transforms him immediately. Given the circumstances in which she first discovers him, Lady Phoebe is in no hurry to open herself to the rake in Moonstone Landing. She is a compassionate, gentle soul, she takes no guff from Lord Burness, putting him in his place time and again, yet encourages him to heal. Can they overcome the obstacles of the past and the squatting houseguests to finally find their way together? Will his responsibilities to others prove to be too much? Will he return to his rakish ways? Find out in this fabulous novel by Meara Platt!
Oh this novel is truly a page turner! I didn't want to go to work or sleep, I wanted to finish it that quickly. It is engrossing and Meara has such talent in creating the characters she is writing. She brings them to life on the pages engaging her readers with her work in such a way that we become invested. Her characters feel like friends by the end of her novel. Another fantastic finish!

Phoebe is incensed when her neighbor’s young nieces arrive for the summer and he is too drunk with his guests to notice. She scolds Cormac and takes his nieces to her cottage until he can send his wild friends away. When he sees how beautiful Phoebe is, he decides to straighten up his life and settle down with her. Now he just has to convince her to trust him. I received an ARC from NetGalley and Dragonblade Publishing for my honest review.

The Moonstone Marquess by Meara Platt is the long-awaited sequel to the Moonstone Duke, well, OK, it hasn’t been that long. Platt has a way of infesting a story with whimsy whether it belongs there or not. Such is this story when Cormac Stockwell, the Marquess of Burness and Lady Phoebe Killebrew meet on front of his house. Anyone near, thankfully few, were enthralled by the dressing down she gave him has he greeted her in a half-dressed, drunken manner. She did not hold back. He as fascinated and he proposed to her on the spot. He had been hearing about her for years, and was already half in love. She was aghast. Another example of how irresponsible he was. She rode away to her cottage where her sister, and his two young nieces waited her. He was to arrive later in the day to greet his nieces but she was not at all certain of the outcome of that meeting, if he came at all. But arrive he did, sober, well-dressed, and incredibly charming.
Cormac was resurfacing after years of drunkenness and depression resulting from losing his arm. It wasn’t bad enough that he lost it but that it happened after the armistice had been called. He had been a poor sport about it all but now he was ready to re-enter the world. His friend, the Earl of Crawford, had asked that he help his younger brother, Richard, become a man and an earl. That was the reason those drunken, half-naked people were at his house. They were Richard’s friends, not his. Now Richard had been introduced to one facet of manhood and it was time for them to move on. Lady Phoebe was not interested in excuses, but he would win her over. She was beautiful. She was perfect. She would challenge him. Both good characters, this character-driven novel is one of personal growth and coming together as only people meant to be could. Great job, Meara Platt!
I was invited to read a free e-ARC of The Moonstone Marquess by Dragonblade, through Netgalley. All thoughts and opinions are mine. #Netgalley #Dragonblade #MearaPlatt #TheMoonstoneMarquess

This book was so good. It captivated me from the first page and I did not want to let go. It has great characters and exciting chemistry. I felt like I was in the book.

A sweet story about a fiery Heroine and her rake-turned sweetheart Hero.
I enjoyed the little aspects of this story, the ghost, the young children and an unbelievable love-at-first hearing (the hero was first attracted to the girl he heard about in stories). But altogether it was a little boring, nothing really happened and when it did it resolved quickly. I liked it but I didn't love it.
Thank you to the publisher and Netgalley for this ARC, opinions are my own.

A hero who is turning over a new leaf and keeping a promise vs a lady who is not easily persuaded that he is sincere. Adorable girls and intriguing secondary characters add dimensions to the story as well as a jealous ex who can’t let go. Plus a little ghostly magic makes for a very engaging read.
I received an ARC from Netgalley and leaving my review voluntarily.

This was a quick, sweet romance. I did not read the first book so I didn’t know any of the characters. However, this didn’t stop me from enjoying the book.
It was an unrealistic-love at first sight-opposites attract romance. Even though it was unrealistic, I still really enjoyed it. I loved the male character who had a lot of redeemable qualities. The female character was also lovable and a firecracker.
I do wish there was a bit more drama that lasted longer. It seemed to be resolved quickly. Also, always more smut is appreciated. I do wish the magical/ghost aspect was more developed as well.
This book was a good introduction to the author and made me want to read more by them.

Love at first sight? Phoebe believes it is not likely and is stunned by Cormac the Marquess’s proposal. Cormac is a rake and a scoundrel, a war hero who has lost one arm, and in their first meeting he is hungover drunk and disheveled. Phoebe gives him a well deserved piece of her mind on behalf of his nieces who need protection. Cormac is fascinated by this little lioness protecting her cubs. Cormac attempts redemption by visiting and caring for his nieces and Phoebe continues to challenge his self pitying and indulgent manners. She wants to love him but her heart remains guarded. Cormac wants her but is unsure of the required commitments. Let the romance begin!
From beginning to end, the storyline draws you in as well as the irresistible setting of Moonstone cottage.
Don’t miss any books in the Moonstone Landing series, can hardly wait for the next one.

3.5 stars
I'm sure I liked the novella's more. I think this was a bit too long and there was just one theme: Phoebe was a paragon and a lioness, Cormac was a rake with a big chip on his shoulder about his disability. All the other characters IMO were a bit two dimensional.
I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
