This was a great sequel and a nicely read audiobook! The narrator was pretty breathy and soft-spoken, which took me some time to get used to, but it was fine after a while.

Avatar, the last air bender: the legacy of Yangchen was an interesting insight into the past lives of the avatar before Aang. However, I found the story a little bit harder to follow than the previous titles in this series. The narrator is one of my favorite, and I found it easy to listen to.

I had a hard time with this one. The story is good, but I did need to go poke around for refreshers on the earlier one. It was hard to have it stand by itself. Maybe if I had *just* finished book one before starting this it would've been fine. I actually had an easier time following the various political machinations than I did the fight scenes. It took me about two thirds of the way through to really get into it.

*Thank you NetGalley for the advanced reader e-audiobook of this novel.

This is the second of the Yangchen books in the Avatar the Last Airbender series. I have loved all of the books in this series thus far and Yee has done it again. It is well-developed and invigorating the whole way through. Very rarely do I find a book that has action scenes where they are as interesting as a film. Yee is able to expertly write out the scenes so that they unfold in your mind perfectly. Yangchen is a fun adventure that continues the narrative from the first book, The Dawn of Yangchen. I am very excited to see more in the Avatar series from Yee.

Excellent conclusion to the Yangchen saga, continuing an excellent Avatar series by FC Yee. The narrator does an excellent job making the series come alive and differentiating the characters and making each feel unique. I'll be buying our library a physical copy, and recommending our system get a digital audio copy.

While I loved the Kyoshi novels, I didn't love the first Yanchen book. This one stayed along those lines. It was an interesting look into Yangchen's time as the avatar, but I just didn't love it as much as I wanted to. It was hard to keep my attention, there were a lot of political things going on, and I understand that's a lot of the avatar's job, but it just isn't interesting to me. I have a hard time with any book that has a lot of politics in it.
In the first book, Kavik betrays Yangchen for his brother. In this book they are forced back together. Yangchen has to decide if she can trust him or not.
Honestly, the only part of this book that stood out to me was the end, and even that was a little chaotic. Kavik was with his brother and some other characters (who I will not try to spell, I listened to the audio) doing their thing (no spoilers) and Yangchen is with Zongdu Chaisee doing their thing. But the story line kept jumping. Something would happen and then it be one day earlier. Then something in the present would happen and it would be 2 hours earlier. It was just a little all over the place. I was invested in the end, but the rest of the book was kind of bland.
The narrator was not my favorite, but I've definitely heard worse.
If there are more books in this series about different avatars, I will 100% read them, I just hope future ones have a little bit less to do with politics.

I requested this one because it might be an upcoming title I would like to review on my Youtube Channel. However, after reading the first several chapters I have determined that this book does not suit my tastes. So I decided to DNF this one.
