Emily Austin is one of my top three authors of my life. He writing resonates with me so deeply no matter the character and I feel like we’d be such great friends if we could. Lol. But with the review …

EFAS is about Enid, who is a half deaf, anxiety induced, neurodivergent, autistic(?), lesbian who is just trying to get through life. This story has a lot of family themes and exploration into how childhood events affects one as they grow older. The inner thoughts of Enid’s parasite was alike to mine. The dad issues Enid has are alike to mine, and she deeply cares about her mother, just like I do.

There isn’t much of a plot in this book other than self realization character development, which I’m totally fine with.

Funny moments, but not as much as her previous novel. Probably cause I felt like I wrote this book and my thoughts are alike to Enid’s and we’re just struggling over here. Lol.

Thank you Atria books for the galley. 🖤

Emily Austin is THE author for stories with lesbian main characters struggling with mental health issues! Her writing is so funny, relatable, and makes me want to absolutely devour every word she’s written. I love Enid and I know queer women everywhere will too! I can’t wait to hand sell this book!
