Wonderful magical realism and I loved the atmospheric, ethereal quality of the setting at times. I will definitely be reading more by this author in the future as I couldn’t put this one down. Thank you so much for the ARC!

I am always a huge fan of Adrienne Young and this book did not disappoint. The characters and setting were extremely vivid and I loved the mix of mystery and magical realism. It was an exquisite blend of genres that will intrigue many this of readers.
My only qualm with the book was that I wanted it to be longer and I wanted some flashbacks from other timelines to help flesh out the romance a little more. That being said, I will continued to read anything and everything Adrienne Young writes!

i knew nothing about this book other than the author before diving in, and let me tell ya, I WAS SHOOK. so feel free to stop reading this post here and go in blind when you’re ready to have your brain….shaken. aggressively. would recommend.
i read Spells for Forgetting last year, so i was anticipating a similar atmospheric, more savor-the-journey type of story. instead, it’s this twisty time-travely murder mystery with a low key unreliable narrator and a secret-keeping family situation. which makes no sense but somehow is exactly it?
this story drops you directly into the farrow family curse: the farrow women all go mad. and june’s next.
i have decided my favorite emotion to read about is angst. in this case, june farrow DELIVERS. this book bridges an odd gap between sci-fi, fantasy, and murder mystery, with a splash of family drama and side of romance.
if you’re looking for something to binge, to get you out of a slump, or just for something different, JUNE FARROW.
thank you to @netgalley and @delacortepress for providing a digital ARC of this book for review.

The Unmaking of June Farrow by Adrienne Young was a surprising and twisty book. The characters were well fleshed out and I couldn't put the book down. I look forward to more from this author.

Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for this arc in exchange for my honest review.
The timeline was SO confusing.
Bits of this book were good but others were really disappointing and sad.
This wasn’t for me- but I could see others enjoying this one.

This was a little out of the norm for me to read and enjoy, I usually don't love romance and/or magical fantasy types of books. But, this one got me! The author composed a masterpiece. Period.
Go. Read it. It's amazing!!!!

I got sucked into this book right away. This was the first Adrienne Young book I ever read, and I regret not discovering her other works sooner. This one has such atmospheric magic realism and is so wonderfully done. The mystery and time travel were fascinating as well. By the end of this book, I was sobbing. I loved how the Farrow women's curse was lifted. My only regret is that June and Eamond's romance was not thoroughly explored. All things considered, this is a worthwhile book, and I will most certainly read more about Adrienne Young's other works.
Thank you to Netgalley and Random House Publishing Group for the e-arc in exchange for an honest review.

I loved this book so much!!! So glad she is writing adult novels now. This was intricately plotted and mind bending—the second I wanted to turn around and reread it, just to see and understand all the foreshadowing. Give me more books like this, please!!!

No one can craft an atmosphere like Adrienne Young. I want to crawl inside her books and live there. This was phenomenal and I want to forget I read it so I can read it again for the first time.

The Unmaking of June Farrow by Adrienne Young is a poignant and atmospheric novel that delves into themes of identity, resilience, and the pursuit of freedom in a richly imagined world. June, our main character, is a compelling protagonist, strong-willed and determined yet vulnerable beneath her outward strength. This author explores June's internal struggles and growth with sensitivity, portraying her journey from fear and uncertainty to empowerment and resilience. Overall, this story is a captivating and thought-provoking novel that will resonate with readers who enjoy immersive world-building, strong character development, and themes of self-discovery and empowerment.

It's so refreshing when you begin a story and are immediately drawn to the writing and the beauty of the story set up. There wasn't a part of the book that I did not completely love. The characters were relatable and genuine. I thought that their interaction with each other were done well and never felt forced. The world building was great and I really felt both the connection and the distance between the two timelines. This is such a hot new take on the time travel trope and I thought it was well thought out and executed. The plot itself had me glued to pages, and to be perfectly honest it had me guessing until the very end. I loved all the twists and turns and found myself routing for June and praying that everything was going to turn out in her favor. This book is a serious contender to my favorite of the year!

I absolutely loved this book. It was really dynamic and interesting and I loved the characters, Adrienne Young has a really good writing voice in my opinion.

I am a huge fan of Adrienne's writing and she did not disappoint with this one either. It was complex, twisty, immersive, and just grips you from the early pages. I love how her adult novels have been genre-bending and we're left with elements of women's fiction, speculative, and mystery. She's a master storyteller and that is showcased in this one.

I don’t think I’m smart enough for this book but it was brilliant! Hooked me from the very beginning. Love everything Adrienne writes.

Such a fantastic story. I have recommended this to many of my friends who love it just as much as I do. Epic characters and epic love story.

Such an interesting, unique, and atmospheric story. Truly like nothing I have ever read before. I was absorbed almost immediately and until the very end. Would recommend reading in the fall for optimal vibes.

Oh, this book is so sweet. It's a wonderful exploration of family, love, and choices. Honestly, I'll read anything Adrienne Young writes, so I expected to like this, but I really enjoyed this one. I also flew through it. I think it took me maybe three days to read because I didn't want to put it down. Some of the stuff with the timelines get a bit confusing at the end, but I think it still works. I'm going to be recommending this one for a while.

Wow...this incredible story kept my. mind working the entire time, trying to figure out how the pieces of the puzzle fit together. Magic Realism is not my go to genre, but this story kept me engaged and I couldn't put it down!

I was nervous about this one but I ended up absolutely loving it. This story made me cry at the end, which is indicative of a story I love. I will say, this is a time travel book so it had some plot holes, but the story was just so beautifully told and written that I was able to suspend my disbelief to enjoy the ride. I highly recommend this one!

The Unmaking of June Farrow is a tough one to review. The novel is intricately plotted, and without giving anything away, tough to describe. It centers on June Farrow, they last of the Farrow women, living in Jasper, North Carolina. It's a novel to lose yourself in, atmospheric, mysterious, and consuming.
