Zach and Olivia get engaged after meeting in Italy. However, things aren’t as simple when they discover that their parents have a messy history together.

If you love 90s/2000s wedding romcoms you’ll love this one.
It has the right amount of drama and comedy with messy family dynamics, friendships and love.
it’s one of those books that I think is better as an audiobook, it was fun to listen to and narration made it enjoyable.

Paging Nancy Meyers!!! You need to write a screenplay based on this delicious, fun novel. This would make such a good movie! I loved the well-told story about a likable engaged couple with parents who had been intertwined years before. I really needed a fun book to read after finishing some depressing ones. I highly recommend this yummy, fun novel. I believe Liz Fenton and Lisa Steinke are the dream team of our day.

An enjoyable but predictable read. It was familiar, as if I had read the story before. The characters were likable but weren’t written with much depth. A solid addition to the duo’s collection.

I received an advance audio and digital copy. All thoughts are my own

It feels like kismet when Zach and Olivia meet in Italy, fall in love and quickly get engaged. They only grew up thirty minutes apart from one another in Southern California. But when they get back home and go to brunch to introduce all of the parents, a whole dramatic history unfolds and the mothers are immediately at each others throats. It was a promising family drama/second chance romance that I enjoyed but didn’t love.

This is not my usual genre (a little light – but everyone needs light sometimes) but this was a fun listen for me. Zach and Olivia meet on an Italian vacation, fall and in love and decide to get married. First coincidence – they are both from the LA area. When they come home and start to plan their lives together the romance doesn’t lessen and it’s time for the parents to meet (both couples are divorced) – and this is where the story takes its turn. Zach is the product of Amy and Troy’s one night together after betraying Troy’s fiancé June who was Amy’s best friend and who happens to be Olivia’s mom (second giant coincidence). The story takes on wedding hijinks from there.

It’s fun and lighthearted and a great beach read for the summer. I listened to the audio and it was perfect for me at the airport waiting for my delayed flight – I didn’t even notice the extra 2 hours go by. I wish Olivia’s dad played more of a role in the story but it was fine the way it was. The characters were fun, the story was exactly what you expect and I enjoyed it.

3.5 stars (this is one of those times I wish that there were half stars bc I hate to give it three stars)

Thank you to NetGalley and Dreamscape Media for the audio to review

This is the perfect book for pure escapism. It's full of romance, silliness, and surprises. The short list of characters are imperfect, interesting, and delightful. The plot is so unbelievable that it probably could happen and at the end I defy anyone to not have a smile on his/her face. The book starts in Italy, but ends in California; somehow the authors were able to get the sunshine of those locations into the book, even when a space heater must be "borrowed" in order to keep warm. This is a perfect book to fall into, suspend disbelief, and just enjoy.

I devoured this book as an audio book! It was perfect for the long drive I had. If you are a lover of romcoms this book is for you!

I loved how everyone’s relationships overlap. At first I was intrigued to see where the two mother’s perspectives were taking us. I definitely did not see that twist coming!

I love how pure V and Z’s love was. The parade scenes were great!

Olivia and Zac just so happen to meet in the beautiful, Positano Italy, where after a few weeks of being together traveling they decide that they belong together forever. Once back in the states, both sets of parents are less than thrilled to see their children getting married so quickly. Not to mention when they all meet for the first time, the history between them comes out. Now the parents have to put their past behind them in an effort to support their children in their marriage.

Overall, this was a very cute and enjoyable audiobook. The narration was great, and easy to listen to... very binge-worthy. Although this is not a story that will make me think, or "stay with me" after listening, it was a great light-hearted read. A perfect beach read in my opinion.

When Olivia and Zach get engaged after a whirlwind romance abroad, they are excited for their parents to meet and start wedding planning. However, it turns out Zach and Olivia's parents (both couples divorced) already have a past and secrets of their own. When a secret of Zach's comes to light that threatens the engagement, the older couples must put their past behind them to try and save Zach and Olivia's relationship.

This book was very reminiscent of any 90's/early 2000's movie about a wedding. Couple falls in love, there is a barrier to the happily ever after, some fun grand gestures happen, the end. The story overall was enjoyable enough and I appreciated the theme of forgiveness throughout.

I enjoyed the narrator of the audiobook. While this wasn't my favourite read by these authors, I still enjoyed it and would recommend it for an easy, light-hearted vacay read.

Forever Hold Your Peace by Liz Fenton and Lisa Steinke is a fun, quirky big hearted novel about family, marriage, and soulmates. It was really giving Mamma Mia energy in the best way - family drama, a quick wedding, and a cast of colorful characters.

Olivia and Zach met by chance encounter (more on that) in Italy and fell in love quickly. So quickly that they got engaged in just a few weeks. When they bring their families together back in the states to celebrate and meet they are shocked to find that their divorced parents all know each other and have history that goes way back.

This book is loaded with cultural references which honestly took me out of it a book - it was almost like a competition to get the most touch-points of our current culture in every scene. But overall, it was really enjoyable and a fast read.

The audio was fantastic - highly enjoyable performance that navigated the changing points of view seamlessly. Highly recommend!

Thank you to NetGalley and Dreamscape Media for the ARC - Forever Hold Your Peace is out now!

A fun, heartfelt women's fiction novel that readers of Grant Ginder and Jenny Jackson will love! I always love anything Liz Fenton and Lisa Steinke write, but I enjoyed that they broke out of their thriller mold to create a story unlike their others. The audiobook was phenomenally portrayed.

Thanks to Dreamscape Media for the ALC.
This is a perfect book for summer and wedding season. It was so much fun reading a book set around a mid-twenties couple who get engaged after six weeks and all the family drama that ensues. The authors pulled me into the story right away with this engaging plot. It never felt outrageous, but it was highly entertaining. I liked the perspective into the different parents thoughts about how their handling this situation. There's lots of conflicting ideas, the right amount of drama, and growth and forgiveness found between these characters. They were all distinct enough to keep straight, and I had some frustration and empathy for all of them.
Nan McNamara did wonderfully with the narration. The characters came to life and she was able to capture their tones and personalities so well in her performance.

The story premise is a possibly a little far fetched but it was light and fun. I wouldn’t use the word hilarious to describe the book but it certainly does contain lots of humour. I chuckled out loud many times while listening. A perfect summer/beach read!
I enjoyed the audiobook version of Forever Hold Your Peace. The narration, by Nan McNamara, is clear and well paced; a very easy listen.
Thank You to NetGalley and Dreamscape Media, for the opportunity to enjoy the audiobook version of this this ARC.

Your children getting married should be an exciting wonderous event to be celebrated with joy and happiness. That isn’t exactly what happened when Amy and June received calls from their respective kids that they were getting married. Both mothers thought their kids were too young and didn’t get what the rush was all about. Amy and June were under the impression that they could somehow still cajole, control, influence their children. That was what was running through their minds when the two women look up and realize they were each others former best friends who hadn’t spoken since one betrayed the other in the worst way. They moved on with their lives heartbroken I many ways. Then it turns out that their lives once again collide when their children fall in love and get engaged. Can they make their friendship whole again? Turns out planning a wedding can sometimes bring out the best and worst in people. Old feelings, old betrayals, new ones, acceptance, forgiveness, understanding and learning to let go all lead to the an interesting and mostly enjoyable listen with terrific narration. I upped the rating to 4 stars, but would have given 3.5 had half stars been available.

"Goin’ to the chapel
And we're gonna get married
Gee I really love you
And we're gonna get married
Going to the chapel of love" - The Dixie Cups

Olivia and Zach a.k.a. V and Z, fell in love after meeting in Italy. Sure, it has only been 6 weeks since they met, but when you know you know. They are excited and slightly apprehensive to share their news with their parents. Both sets of parents are divorced, so there will be a lot of telling involved.

They plan a brunch so everyone can meet and celebrate their engagement. They were not expecting the dropped jaws, shock, and uncomfortable silences. Their parents share a past, a very messy past. Olivia's mother June and Zach's mother Amy are former best friends. UGH! Drama enter stage left....

Now the two former friends throw themselves into planning the wedding. There is drama, tension, and catty remarks. They become over the top trying to up the other to becomes the most supportive and to get her ideas used. But, what about what Olivia and Zach want?????

Reminiscent of several zany wedding movies, this book is dramatic, full of secrets, eye rolling moments, and love. I had both the book and the audiobook which made for a very enjoyable reading/listening experience.

I enjoyed how this book was entertaining, a little over the top, heartwarming, dramatic and zany. It's the perfect book for summer reading. Another enjoyable read by Fenton and Steinke. I look forward to what this writing duo writes next!

Well written, entertaining, dramatic and heartwarming!

Very cute Summer women’s fiction - maybe not for a beach trip with your bestie - about love and family, when former friends face the instalove of their adult children.

I found all the women relatable and believable.
Would definitely make a good Netflix miniseries – let me speak it into existence!

“Father of the Bride” meets “You Again” in this delightful and humorous novel. “Forever Hold Your Peace” is a fun and lighthearted romantic comedy to add to your summer reading list.

After a whirlwind romance in Positano, Italy, Olivia and Zach surprise their parents with their sudden engagement, just six weeks after meeting. Back home in California, the newly engaged couple asks their four divorced parents to meet over brunch. Their skeptical parents reluctantly agree, each secretly hoping someone will say what they’re all thinking: this wedding is too much too soon. Their quick engagement is not the only surprise, however. As it turns out, June, the mother of the bride, and Amy, the mother of the groom, are ex-best-friends who haven’t spoken to each after their falling out more than twenty-five years ago. As old secrets and rivalries come to light, their history threatens the happy couple’s future. Can June and Amy put their past behind them to give their children a happily-ever-after?

This book was so much fun! I am such a sucker for wedding movies, so I was really excited to listen to this audiobook. From the first chapter I was hooked, and I spent every spare second listening. It’s not often that I call a fiction novel a page-turner, but that’s exactly what this book was. It felt like I was watching a 90s rom-com, and I just couldn’t wait to find out what happened next. Overall, a very enjoyable read about love, betrayal, and second chances.

I listened to the audiobook narrated by Nan McNamara. Her performance was fantastic, and I found any and every excuse to listen to this book. My house has never been cleaner!

Barely out of college, Olivia and Zach meet on vacation and after a whirlwind romance, they get engaged and it's time to meet the parents! Little do they know, their parents have History (yup, with a capital H). The story that follows is about love, redemption, soulmates, friendship, and the gray areas of adult life.

This book struck me as a mashup of 90s/early aughts romcoms - Father of the Bride, The Wedding Planner, Meet the Parents, and My Big Fat Greek Wedding all come to mind, and I could totally see this becoming a movie! Admittedly, the drama became a bit tiresome for me about half way through, but the characters were endearing and the ending was satisfying. The narrator of the audiobook did a nice job covering the range of this broad group of characters. I would classify this as more Women's Fiction than Romance and recommend it for a fun, family-filled, drama-tastic, wedding themed. summer read!

Thank you to Dreamscape Media via NetGalley for gifting me with an ALC to review. I enjoyed it!

This is such a wonderful story about love, friendship, forgiveness, and growth. I got an early ARC but listened to snippets of the audiobook because that is my preferred way to read. I love the narrator! She does such a great job.

Lisa and Liz have such a knack for writing about that close bond you feel with your best friend. I think it's amazing they are able to write books together. Talk about trust and talent!

June and Amy were best friends in their younger years, but after one horrible decision made by Amy and June's fiancé, Troy, their relationships are all destroyed.

Fast forward to their 40's, June and Amy both have kids of their own. They unknowingly meet during a trip abroad and fall in love. Chaos ensues when they return home to announce their engagement and discover the hidden past and the secrets of their now divorced parents.

This story definitely has Father Of The Bride vibes, which is one of my favorite 90's movie. I loved the way Liz and Lisa told a story about falling in love while also having the shadow of heartbreak looming the whole way through. I even imagined myself as most of the main characters and tried to figure out how I would feel if this were happening to me.

Could I forgive my parents for being dishonest?
Could I accept my future in-laws for hurting my mother?
Can I forget the past and rekindle a friendship?

I loved everything about the wedding planning and the cattiness of June and Amy trying to make their opinions heard. This read so well and I enjoyed every chapter as it alternated between every character. I loved getting the insight behind everyone, including Oliva and Zach. And for once, I didn't get ANYONE confused. My reading toxic trait is never keeping track of who is who. Not with this one, friends! Very easy to distinguish everyone and their quirky personalities.

Two quotes that stood out: [Might be edited in the final version]
“I truly believe some of our worst choices lead us to things we didn’t know we needed.”

“Being a mother is the hardest job on the planet. You try your best, but it isn’t always enough. The secret is to keep trying.” (Can I get a freaking amen?)

Cannot wait for this to release to the public. It's out July 11. Thank you to Netgalley and Alcove Press for letting me read it early in exchange for an honest review.
