Thank you for the advanced reader copy of this book. All reviews are of my own opinion based on the ARC copy.
🎧 4.5/5 ⭐️ I’m surprised this was considered a thriller. To me it felt more like a non fiction novel with a hint of mystery. Not the typical edge of your seat who done it, for me the other story lines took priority. I’m a sucker for the intertwined story lines and this book had them! The mother daughter relationship took a front seat compared to the who killed who. This may be my favorite Alice Feeney book, understanding it’s not quite the thriller you typically think.
It took about 15% to get into the book and understand where it was going but I listened to the last 60% in one sitting. I couldn’t wait to hear how everything unfolded.

4.5 / Alice Feeney nails it again. Twists on twists on twists. Wow. From the start I felt an overwhelming sense of confusion, like I’m walking in the dark. But slowly, one by one, the pieces start clicking into place. Alice Feeney creates such an intricate web of characters that tell such a wild story. While none of the women involved are necessarily “good people”, I was so entranced by their story and loved them as interesting characters. Though I considered a few of the earlier twists so they didn’t shock me, the few at the end left me shook. I had literal chills. I’ve listened to several Alice Feeney books by this narrator and always love listening to them. Such a clever telling of such a complex and crazy story.
Thank you to Alice Feeney, Macmillan Audio, and NetGalley for the gifted copy in exchange for my honest review!

Good Bad Girl" by Alice Feeney is a literary gem that seamlessly intertwines mystery, suspense, and the complexities of human nature. Having experienced this captivating audiobook, I can confidently say that it held me captive from the opening chapter to its gripping conclusion.
The narration is nothing short of exceptional, with the narrator skillfully capturing the intricate balance between tension and mystery that defines the story. The atmosphere of the narrative was palpable, effectively drawing me into the world of secrets and uncertainties that the characters navigated.
Speaking of characters, Feeney's ability to breathe life into her creations is commendable. The cast of "Good Bad Girl" is a collection of richly layered individuals, each carrying their own baggage of secrets, insecurities, and desires. Their interactions, often laced with hidden agendas, served as a driving force behind the story's progression. This intricate web of relationships added an extra layer of intrigue, making every revelation all the more impactful.
Feeney's storytelling prowess shines brightly as she masterfully weaves a tapestry of mystery, psychology, and emotion. The exploration of the human psyche, as seen through the lens of the characters, creates a thought-provoking narrative that lingers long after the final page. The pacing, for the most part, maintains a steady rhythm, though there are occasional moments where the story's momentum falters slightly.
The thematic depth and narrative complexity make "Good Bad Girl" a true page-turner. Alice Feeney's ability to delve into the intricacies of human behavior and emotion is commendable, and her talents are evident in the immersive experience she offers readers. If you're seeking a gripping mystery that challenges your perceptions and keeps you guessing until the very end, "Good Bad Girl" should unquestionably find a place on your reading list.
Many thanks to NetGalley and Macmillan.Audio for providing me with an advance copy in exchange for an unbiased review.

I love Alice Feeney. This book was written so well and I loved the different perspectives. Each character has great development and overall I felt that this was unpredictable. Great twist at the end and a unique story line.

Really more 3.5* I really enjoyed Rock, Paper, Scissor, and I was excited to dive into her newest. But it was just meh. Some parts were predictable, others were jumbled and confusing. I listened to it on audio, but wished I would have read it instead. I think that would have made it a bit better. The narrator was great!

I love Alice Feeney. Daisy Darker was one of my favorite books from last year. Her novels always leave me perplexed and hanging on. Though not my favorite of hers, Good Bad Girl is a worthy effort. This solid thriller had me hooked from the start. Feeney's trademark narration sucks you in and leaves you wondering how all the pieces will fit together. There is always a sense of foreboding and unease when I read her books. I loved being kept on edge and feeling uncomfortable. That said, this was also a family drama with themes of motherhood, abandonment, and what it's really like to love (or not love) a child. The complicated relationships between mothers and daughters in this book will be great for book clubs. Unfortunately, twists toward the end became kind of overdone and convoluted. I would have preferred a simpler ending.
The audiobook was stellar. I absolutely LOVED the narrators and will be looking for more books narrated by Katherine Press and Stephanie Racine. Overall, 3.5 rounded up.
Thank you to Macmillan Audio and NetGalley for an Advanced Reader's Copy in exchange for an honest review.

This was my favorite book by the author so far. I have also read Daisy Darker & Rock Paper Scissors.
This worked great as an audiobook! Great characters, great narrator and a twisty storyline. I loved that Feeney ends most chapters with great cliff hangers and twists. While some were predictable twists there was still a few I didn’t see coming at all.
This is an audiobook you really need to focus on as there are a lot of different characters, timelines and intertwining stories to follow.
The characters are a bit unlikable, but they grow on you and are definitely unique and memorable.
I didn’t love a couple turns the book took and that was my only major issue. I felt like it wasn’t too believable towards the end and a few things didn’t line up. But in the end they address one of the issues.
A quick fun read that a lot of people are really going to enjoy. Definitely more of a mystery than a thriller. 3.5/4

I’ll admit, the first half of this book was a bit complex and challenging to keep up with at times. You can expect multiple POVS and jumps in timelines. But I highly suggest you stick with it. They don’t call Alice Feeney the queen of thrillers for nothing. The twists are worth it, and i found it intriguing how these storylines intertwined. 😍
I'd rate this one 3.5 stars!
Side note: i listened to “Good Bad Girl” as an ARC gift from NetGalley and adored the narration. Well done, cast & crew!

This book confused me for like the first 50% and then it was wildly unbelievable. It’s definitely a who-dun-it - pretty unputdownable, honestly, with all the twist and turns… and tied up into a nice, tight bow, but very very far-fetched. IMO.
The audio narration, which is very well done, helps with the confusion. The whole concept of vague-for-the-sake-of-mystery storytelling bothers me and Good Bad Girl is definitely told that way, but I feel like Feeney books are often written like that, so fans of her work will probably like this one.
It was too unbelievable for me, but I love London and all the scenery and I love dual narrations and mysteries, so I still enjoyed it and would recommend - definitely in audio format.

4.5⭐️
I love Alice Feeney, so I was delighted to get an advanced copy of her new release and I was not disappointed! It took a minute to get into it and get all the characters/POVs straight but once I did, I couldn’t stop listening! I just had to know what was going on!! It’s different than her previous works, but it definitely packs an emotional punch and delivers quite a few unpredictable twists! I actually felt like starting it all over again after all the reveals, just to find all the clues I’m sure where there all along!

“It’s not who we are; it’s who we think we are that holds us back in life and stops us from being who we could be.”

Listened to this book in one day! It was my second Alice Feeney book. I love how she weaves her story from so many different angles and perspectives. Then you get to the end and think, WHAT??? I mean this one has a twist I couldn’t have even imagined.
If you like mystery, this book is for you! Thank you NetGalley and the publisher for my ARC!

I always enjoy Alice’s books. She has a great way of intertwining un seemingly connected characters and story development. I did figure out a few of the twists due to me knowing Feeney’s writing style, but there were a few extra tricks under her sleeve with this one. All in all, I quite enjoyed it and the story kept me interested. The audio was done just as well as her previous books. I would definitely suggest this book.

Thank you to NetGalley and Macmillan Audio for the early listen!
Alice Feeney does it again!
I really enjoyed this audiobook. What an amazing roller coaster of a ride this book was. It will keep you guessing and hanging on until the end!
The narrators did a wonderful job telling the story. They were able to give each character a voice of their own. Which is great makes it easier to follow each character.

If you love the challenge of figuring out a puzzle... Good Bad Girl IS your next read!
THOUGHTS:
- Falling into the minds of the severely deranged who are pathologically lying with ultimately unreliable thoughts is a fun puzzle!! The first 30% of this book completely threw me off, and I enjoyed the intellectual challenge of figuring out where everything was going and how everything was connected.
- Set in London and definitely gave me those moody fall vibes I love during this time of year! (I'm already over summer, my friends!)
Audiobook Rating: 5/5 --
Here's the thing about audiobooks. Even when the characters are well done, and the narrator does a fantastic job(which they did! - I didn't even have to think about which character it was because the narrator's voices were so different), some books you need to hold in your hand to grasp.
Good Bad Girl is one of these books. The narrator can do as amazing of the job as they did, and you'd mostly likely still need to go back and rewind because there are so many details that become important.
In the end, Good Bad Girl is a psychological thriller to throw on your TBR!
**Thank you to Macmillan Audio & NetGalley for the advanced reader copy. I received this book for free, but all thoughts are my own. – SLR 🖤

I was provided an ARC of the audiobook version of Good Bad Girl by Alice Feeney in exchange for an honest review.
An octogenarian, a prison librarian, an estranged daughter, and a nursing home worker's individual lives become brilliantly intertwined in this new psychological thriller by Alice Feeney. If you love character development and have the patience for a slow burn that gets incredibly twisty at the end, this one's for you!
This story revolves around four dynamic women: Frankie, a unique prison librarian; Edith, an 80-year-old currently residing in a mysterious nursing home; Patience, an 18-year-old nursing home worker; and Clio, Edith's enigmatic distant daughter. Once I understood what makes these characters tick, I eagerly turned the page to learn more! This story included some of my favorite themes: strained mother-daughter relationships, murder, lies, and deceit.
The audiobook narrator can make or break a book for me. I fell in love with Stephanie Racine after hearing her audiobook version of another Alice Feeney book, Daisy Darker. I was so excited to see she was also brought back to perform the narration for this book. She does a fantastic job of emphasizing enough that it feels natural without feeling super-theatrical and over the top.
Make sure you grab this psychological thriller once it is released this August!

I listened to the audiobook. It was slightly confusing at first, but once I figured out who was who it was way better. Some of the twists I figured out, some I didn't see coming! Overall good book! I've read/listened to all of her other books, Alice definitely has the twist and turns in this book!

I thought this was a great book! It was filled with twists and surprises especially towards the end! I thought the ending was very clever how it all tied together! It had multiple points of view and time periods. I enjoyed all of the characters and thought that they were built well!
I had the audiobook version and thought both narrators did excellent! Having two definitely added to this story!
Thanks net galley and Macmillan audio for this Arc!

I was beyond excited to be approved for the audiobook of Good Bad Girls.
I've read a couple of Alice Feeney's books and while I have enjoyed them, there hasn't been one that has really captivated me.
With Good Bad Girls, I felt pulled into the story almost immediately. Feeney excels in getting the reader invested in this story right from the first page.
While the story switches character perspectives and timelines, there's never a lull. The story flows so effortlessly between each character and between our present timeline and the past.
I do think that listening to the audiobook really enhanced my experience. I enjoy a British narrator, which this has. But more importantly, I feel like the narration allowed the desperation of the story to come through in a way that I don't feel it would have if I had just been reading the words on the page. I don't know that I've ever had a better audiobook experience.
There are certainly aspects of this story, of the mystery, that the reader will be able to discern from early on, but the big twist is one I did not see coming. Not only is the twist surprising, but it actually makes sense for the story, not falling into the trap of a twist that's just for shock value.
I had a wonferful experience with Good Bad Girls and would definitely recommend it if you're into mystery/thriller.
Rating: 4.5/5 stars

DNF @ 21%. This book was definitely not made for me on audio. I couldn't keep track of the characters and it wasnr holding my interest at all... might try reading it instead once it's out.
Thanks to NetGalley and MacMillan Audio for an advance copy in exchange for an honest review

Good Bad Girl was not a win for me.
I couldn't patiently wade through all the coincidences and double-crossing to get to the big twisty reveal of like five different "yeah, that makes sense" items in the last 15% of the book. I did power through, but I'm a little resentful that the payoff wasn't bigger.
Perhaps it was asking too much for me to engage with all the characters who each had something not-so-attractive about themselves to hide?
