I'm an Alice Feeney fan, but this one wasn't a huge success for me. The reader is led through multiple points of view, multiple timelines, and multiple motivations which ultimately are too muddy to make for a good story. I honestly think I would have enjoyed this story more had we had fewer timelines and just learned about the involved and accessory characters through those timelines. I usually enjoy intertwined stories that don't come together until the end, but this one was too much for me. From an older woman in a nursing home, a mother grieving the loss of a child, a young girl working in the nursing home, a mother who has her baby vanish from a stroller, and a few more, it was just too much for me that were too similar. One of the connections became pretty clear early on, which felt like Alice Feeney throwing us a bone! After finishing this book, what struck me the most was that there was no atmosphere. We were dependent entirely on character studies, with no mood or suspense based on environmental description. It made it very homogenous. So, not a huge success for me, but I'll still always give Alice Feeney a read.
As an audiobook, the lack of atmosphere made this just a sea of dialogue and descriptions of a single person going through their actions and choices, before switching to the next person to do their tasks. The narrator was fine but was left with nothing to create an environment or mood.

Alice Feeny is a magician. And this book is no different. She can write in such a way that you never ever see the twists coming. It's unnerving in the best way

Alice Feeney has become one of my absolute favorite authors of reading Rock, Paper, Scissors. I’ll absolutely pick up anything she writes, and therefore I always look forward to her new releases. I was so eager and excited when Macmillan Audio granted my permission via audio on NetGalley.
At this point, I’ve read all of Fenney’s books aside from one. Unfortunately, this one was my least favorite, which is such a bummer.
The premise of this book sounded so interesting. A baby is stolen from a stroller in a supermarket on Mother’s Day. Twenty years later, we are introduced to multiple characters who end up resurfacing the long-awaited mystery.
Unfortunately, the narrative was such a struggle. I’m glad I had the audiobook to help, otherwise, I would’ve been all over the place. The characters were so far-fetched, especially the complicated mother/daughter relationship in this book.
The twists were also way too predictable, I caught along with what was going on from the very beginning. Throughout the book, I was hoping I would be wrong, but unfortunately, I wasn’t. The pacing was also so slow, that I felt the book dragged on and on, and I kept finding myself uninterested in the story.
I will say, I once again ended up enjoying Feeney’s writing. There’s just something about it that always has me fascinated and wanting more.
While unfortunately, this was not for me, I’m still just as eager to pick up the next book by this author.
Thank you so much NetGalley and Macmillan Audio for the ALC in exchange for my honest review!

Think Alice Feeney meets cozy mystery. It wasn’t a cozy mystery REALLY but it was close. Think old folks home, small town detective, small cast of suspects, and a few jokey jokes! I looooved Edith, she gave dashes of Vera (iykyk) and I miss her already.
Look, I have not a single clue how I feel about this one. It’s confusing because the best part of cozy mysteries are guessing who did it but the way this plot went you couldn’t really do that? Since everything was clearly interconnected from the start, we needed LOTS of info all the time to sort out who was who and what was what. Aka information is coming at you the entire time so you kind of just sit along for the ride like you would a thriller that had 0 mystery.
This def was no His & Hers (which is elite) but I think this one sits high on my Feeney ranking!!!! I need to sit with it a bit longer though … Feeney author ranking coming soon.

You know with an Alice Feeney book what you’re getting - it’s likely to be on the dark side, very twisty and leave you with your mouth hanging open. This was no exception! I thought I had it figured out, but I was way wrong!

Good book! It kept me on my toes! The narrator was great to listen to. I look forward to future Alice Feeny books!

This book is a great twisty turns book full of amazing characters you can’t trust, or maybe you can! I felt like I had no idea who had an alternative motive and who was being a good person - then I remembered this book is by Alice Feeny and anything goes with these people - weirdly enough I think they’re are realistic, I am sure some of us say, holy cow, but honestly motive is why people do anything bad or good!
I can’t tell you a lot about the story because that will ruin it but know this - there is a a lot of dynamics around mother daughter relationships, a dog you will fall in love with, some Agatha Christie vibes, library and books play a part in the story, a missing person - or two, and a dysfunctional family full of crap!
Best yet you can be assured that this story is a good one from Alice Feeny and I throughly enjoyed the narrators, Katherine Press and Stephanie Racine are fabulous in this book and it keeps you straight who you’re hearing from.
Thank you to NetGalley and Macmillan Audio for this fantastic read. My options are my own! if you like books that are twisty and you now its going to blow up soon, so you keep listenin, or speed up, so you can hear faster, yes thats thing, this is a book you’ll enjoy!

This book was ... okay. I really really loved Rock, Paper, Scissors, so I am always game for an Alice Feeney novel. However, both Daisy Darker and Good Bad Girl came off a little cheesy and weren't my favourite. I think I would probably prefer Feeney's books as physical reads, versus audio versions, as I'm not super keen on the narrators of Good Bad Girl and Daisy Darker. I still really like this author and still have His & Hers on my TBR because I've heard such good things about it!

You know with an Alice Feeney book what you’re getting - it’s likely to be on the dark side, very twisty and leave you with your mouth hanging open. This was no exception! It does have slightly more “family drama” vibes to it compared to her other books but this is definitely not any cosy, happy family.
I really thought I’d figured out where this one was going (for once!) but she still managed to shock me with an extra twist and I love that so much! I thought this one translated so well to audio and loved the narrators, they did an excellent job!

Good Bad Girl
A Novel
by Alice Feeney
Narrated by Katherine Press; Stephanie Racine
Sometimes bad things happen to good people, so good people have to do bad things.
Alice Feeney can write anything and I would absolutely enjoy it. This one was fantastic and the audiobook made my reading experience even better. The nation was phenomenal and really captured the tense moments. I highly recommend this one to everyone that reads thriller.

Amazing, fast paced well written thriller by Alice Feeney. This one had me guessing up to the very end. The author takes you on twists and turns right up to the very last page. Highly recommend.

This is a very slow burn that I wanted to put it down multiple times. The beginning was confusing until the pace of the book started picking up. Adding to this confusion was the fact that there are multiple POVs and timelines. I figured out the twist well before it happened, leaving me a little uninterested in what was going on. Once everything came together I felt it was a little far fetched and unbelievable. Some plot points are underdeveloped and it was frustrating.
The narrators did a very good job portraying each character, and for the most part they kept my attention well.
I want to thank Netgalley and Macmillan Audio for an advanced listening copy of this book.

I’ve read a couple of Alice Feeney this year and she has become an author I will continue to read! She develops such great characters and never ceases to surprise me with her twists and turns in her storylines. I really enjoyed this one! I tried to figure out where the storyline was going and poof! it surprised me! What a great twist! Thanks #NetGalley for the advance audio in exchange for my review!

I’m always excited for a new Alice Feeney book. This one definitely held my attention. I did not expect the twists. I love it when a book slowly reveals how things are connected and this one did just that.
If you enjoy a thriller with multiple POVs and nonlinear timelines then you need to pick up Good Bad Girl.

Good Bad Girl keeps you on your toes. A story told by many characters. I found it slow to start but when it hit its stride I was invested. The plot twists many times, and all is not revealed until the end. Honestly, I wasn’t sure what was happening most of the time but that felt like part of the plan. To say there is a lot going on here is an understatement. The mother-daughter relationship is at the heart of it. An enjoyable listen.

Interesting family suspense. This author always has one more twist up her sleeve whenever I think I have it all figured out. I enjoyed the narration but did get confused a few times with the many pov.

4 1/2 out of 5 stars
All the books that I have read by Alice Feeney have been incredibly enjoyable and this was no exception. I enjoy the premise of these three women with a connection. I do feel that this felt far more like a suspense than a thriller but that is what I expected from it. A good read.

Finished this one in a day and whew! What a fun ride it was. Everytime I think I know what's happening in Feeney's books, I'm wrong and I love that! Will continue to read and enjoy this auto-buy author!

Good read. I always enjoy this author’s writing and this book didn’t disappoint. Although, I figured the story out early on in the book, I still enjoyed the journey. I really enjoyed the narration as well.
Thank you MacMillan Audio and NetGalley for the opportunity to listen this book!

Alice Feeney does it again with another blockbuster thriller. Most people think in black and white. People are either good or bad, but the MC is so relatable as she is a good bad girl.
Awesome narration by Stephanie Racine.
