3.5 stars rounded down to 3.

Ever since his discharge from the Army, Tristan has felt lost. But a job offer is about to change everything. Mark needs a bodyguard, someone who can be with him nearly around the clock as he takes meetings and makes appearances at his BDSM club. Lyonesse deals in secrets, and Tristan soon finds himself dangerously in over his head and falling for his boss. When he's sent to escort Mark's fiancé across the Atlantic on a yacht, Tristan is determined to hate Isolde, but she works her way under his skin and into his heart.

There were so many things I liked about Salt Kiss, but a few things I didn't, which I why I rounded down when I landed on 3.5 for my rating. I really enjoyed how the kink served the story. A pet peeve of mine is when kink is used to make the story 'edgy' rather than actually serving the plot. Kink served as an anchor for Tristan, a way for him to take pieces of himself back after suppressing them for so long. There was a lot of kink, but not so much that I lost sight of the plot. I also really liked the parallels between Tristan and Isolde. They are both very lonely people and I am interested to see what happens between them in the rest of this series.

But I didn't enjoy the insta-love. Salt Kiss was a fast burn, and while that's not a bad thing, I feel one or two more chapters of Tristan working through his attraction to Mark and Isolde would have better served his character arc.

Overall, I liked this book and I'm very excited to continue with this series.

Thank you to the publisher and NetGalley for the ARC of this book. All opinions are my own.

This was really good! I loved Sierra's voice and I was pulled in from the very beginning. I couldn't put this down. I love the development of the story and characters. There was so much going for it, and I would highly suggest grabbing this one. Especially if you enjoy romance! The romance is so well done!

This is my fourth Sierra Simone book and it's safe to say that this one definitely jumps right into the deep end of things.

Looking for something soft and romantic? This is probably not quite your jam. The book is spicy, it's loud, and it's definitely messy. It's also a lot of fun and the ending definitely leaves you wanting to know what's going to happen next. Tristan is a great character to follow, he's haunted by his demons and has no clear way to exorcise those feelings so he seeks refuge in both Mark and Isolde, which is sure to have some very intense consequences in the next book. I also liked both Mark and Isolde as separate characters, they worked for me in a way that the main trio of New Camelot didn't quite work. Maybe because Mark, Isolde, and Tristan are a little less noble.

ARC provided by Netgalley in exchange for an honest review.

Many thanks to NetGalley and Bloom Books, as well as the author for this advanced reading copy in exchange for my honest review.

This is not my normal kind of read and so I will attempt to be as objective as possible. I appreciate that with a book this incredibly spicy, there was still a story that wasn’t alley driven by sex.

This was a lot of sex. A lot of different types of sex. A lot of sexually charged moments of foreplay and kink. Again, not my typical type of book so I’m out of my element here.

I did enjoy Salt Kiss, and would recommend it to someone if I knew this was their type of read but for me, it made me feel almost prude. I totally get why people enjoy dark, erotic reads, but they’re not my jam.

“She makes me a different Tristan, a new Tristan. With Mark, it was like floating, like breathing, but this - this is like burning.”

Tristan, I love you.

I’m not surprised I loved this book as much as I did. I felt so confident in this book I preordered a signed copy and it was the best decision I could’ve made.

Bodyguard of a kink club owner who is then sent to deliver his fiancé to him… Need I say more? There’s angst, there’s broken boy, there’s the virgin trope. There’s just something about the way Sierra Simone writes tortured characters that I can’t help falling for them. It kind of felt like going to some place familiar with it being set in the same world as New Camelot. So if you loved that series, you’ll absolutely love this one too.

It does end on a cliffhanger so fair warning but I just know the wait will be worth it. I can’t wait to see where their story takes us.

Thank you Net Galley and Sierra Simone for giving me the ARC for this beautiful story! I’m so grateful.

Thank you to netgalley and the publisher for the ARC!

This was my first Sierra Simone book and I’m officially a fan. This was deliciously dark and I couldn’t put it down. Lyonesse is a club for elite sinners. It’s essentially a kink club. This was one of my first MM romances and it shook me to the core. But the MF parts to this had my eyeballs popping out of my head.

My heart was pounding and I was shocked to the core reading this. There was depth to all the main characters that both excited me and broke my heart. This ended on a cliff hanger and I NEED the next book. Like I needed it yesterday.

I didn’t expect to be so obsessed with this. This book is so wrong and so right. Spice level is 5/5 for sure.

After reading American Queen and Priest, I was interested in Salt Kiss. The story is intriguing, decadently tortuously erotic, and I was completely enthralled the whole time, but then it ended, and it ended on a cliffhanger! This is not a standalone and it will leave you unsatisfied, craving more, and wanting to read the second part of the series right now.

Ok wow! I went into this book blind. Not familiar with Sierra Simone and not a reader who reads much in the ways of smutty romance! Well let me give you fair warning, it left me blushing, and embarrassed to read while my kids were in the room even though they can’t read!

I really did enjoy the story line and the characters. The only down side was I felt like Isolde’s part of story was a bit rushed, and I would’ve liked more of that story as there was for Mark, but I also understand this is a series, so assuming with the ending, they’ll definitely be more story in the next book(s).

Overall a good book, I’m looking forward to see what happens in the sequel. And if you like spice, then this author is for you!

After finishing this book I can’t tell you if I’m feeling flushed, annoyed, or eager for the next one. Let me start by saying, this book was a super quick and interesting read. The spice was definitely SPICY and the plot was well thought out.

I loved Sierras writing style and despite not liking the MMC, I still devoured this entire book in less than 24 hrs. The only issue I had with the book, was just how repetitive the mmc got with his obsession. Sierra did an incredible job explaining why Tristan gets obsessed, but it still felt almost strange for someone so conditioned from war to kind of show zero sense when it came to the man and female he was attracted too. Like this man is the absolute best of the best, but didn’t stop to think about there being cameras on the boat?

With that being said, I do plan on reading book two and seeing how I feel after that one. Just because I personally wasn’t a huge fan of the mmc, doesn’t mean y’all won’t be!

4/5 ✨ 3.5/5🌶️

(Spoiler Free) 4.5/5 Stars. This was a book I couldn’t put down!

Spice, a MMC any reader will easily fall in love with, a morally gray love interest, a SECOND possibly morally gray love interest, forbidden romance, bodyguard romance, this book has it all!

This was my first Sierra Simone book and she did not disappoint! I fell in love with Tristian and his ability to fall so deeply for the other characters in this book. His use of the name “honey” had me absolutely swooning. He’s the bisexual switch I didn’t know I needed in my life and can’t stop thinking about!

Isolde and Mark have completely captivated my interest and there is still so much to learn about these two characters and how they connect. Not only were the spice scenes well written and frequent, there is an interesting plot happening in this series. Not to mention the action scene that kept me on the edge of my seat as to what will happen next.

This isn’t just any erotic romance, it is a deeper story of 3 characters and how each of them loves told through the point of view of Tristian Thomas. The amount of romance in this book was a pleasant shock. That along with the cliffhanger it ended on has me counting down the days until the release of book 2!

Page turner alert!

Wow, can Sierra Simone write an excellently written and wonderfully smutty novel!

I was immersed in this from the first and didn't want to stop reading. The characters are intriguing and Simone's writing style is terrific.

Given that this is book #1, I didn't think to look for a prequel but there is one and I'll read that while I wait for the third title in this trilogy. Because I'm already looking forward to reading ((title #3); I can’t wait to see what’s in store for these characters.

Thank you to SOURCEBOOKS Bloom Books and NetGalley for the DRC

I have loved a good fun spicy book since a friend of mine handed me the New Camelot series couple years ago. Sierra Simone is my type of writer and Salt Kiss is a great read. I think if you loved American Prince (my personal fav) you will adore Tristan.
I can’t wait to read the next in the series!!!
Thanks to Netgalley and SOURCEBOOKS Bloom Books publishing…and Sierra write faster ❤️

The inherent Catholicism of Sierra Simone books... I don't really know how to describe this book considering it felt much like a fever dream. It kind of blurred with the novella preceding it to me. In terms of the POV character, I kinda hated him. And Mark. But I liked Isolde!!! She's so queen. It's kind of hard to capture the same gravity of American Queen in a book about a sex club rather than the presidency, but I'd say the vibes remain. Would I read more? Sure. Did I love it? Nah. Most of the books in this universe are too similar to be that beautiful or anything even though they're all somewhat captivating.

This book was not for me! I had such high hopes for this and I ended up DNF-ing it at 50%. I felt like if I’ve read half a book and nothing had happened I can’t struggle through the rest. I was 50% in and we hadn’t even met the woman yet!

Sierra Simone keeps everything interesting, I was intrigued by the dyamic of these three characters cannot wait to continue their story

I truly appreciate how this book hasn't the cliffhanger I was anticipating because I wouldn't have known what to do with myself for the next nine months if that were the case.

So, onto the book. I loved it, every minute of this read, every line, every word, it is magnificent, this is all my New-Camelot-starved mind wanted and craved.
I am now left with SO. MANY. QUESTIONS!

The plot is classic Sierra Simone, you've got BDSM, you've got catholicism, you're got deep reflections on life and past choices. There isn't a lot happening here, but this is the perfect base upon which to build the next two books. I strongly suggest reading Salt in the Wound before reading this.

The characters are GREAT! I loved Mark, I can't wait to see more of him; Tristan is such a sweet boy, I can definitely see myself in him, and finally, we got little bits and pieces of Isolde and I need to read more about her as a wife!

“Playful cruelty and utter possession, and I am at the center of it all.”

If you like the following:
• morally grey, rich, mysterious, sex club owner
• his bodyguard with a breeding kink
• his fianceé, who knows martial arts and has an incredible backbone
• New Camelot world
You have to read this book!

I ate every moment of it up!! It was such a page turner and no part of me ever wanted to stop reading, so imagine how sad I was when it ended. I need to next book STAT! Oh my lordy the spice was so so so good. Anything Sierra Simone writes is delicious and spicy gold. All the MM lovers, you are not ready. This book was something so unexpected and yet amazingly good.

Thank you, Sierra, her publisher, and Netgalley for the chance to read this ARC.

I was very excited to receive this book in exchange for my honest opinion, mainly because I love Sierra Simone’s writing and I knew this would be good. The release date came and I didn’t get it, but a few days later it was on my inbox and I couldn’t hide my happiness. 😊

This is a Tristan and Isolde retelling, and I wish I had known this before I started reading it.

I found this book a bit sad, mostly because although everything is consensual, I felt sorry for Tristan and how he was yearning for love and connection after everything he had experienced in life. He believed he could find this in Mark, but their relationship was heartbreaking. 💔

It wasn’t until very late in the book that Isolde appeared and brought out a new side of Tristan that I loved completely. And then the book ended, so I am hoping there is more to the story because I need it very much. 🙏
