I love the back and forth between the stories of Linda and Anthony! Also interesting to me is the life of an exterminator in the city, and the love connection between someone who is criminal adjacent and an officer of the law.

Linda and her father have a pretty uncommon job as they both work as exterminators. While working a job, Linda found one of their long-time client dead. Both Linda and her dad were called in for questioning. And this is where the troubles, twists and turns start!
I ended up preferring Linda's father to her but still enjoyed this story narrated by David Bendena and Cara Swingline. This was a perfect combination!
Thank you #Netgalley #Dreamscape Media for this audiobook

Her Father's Daughter was an intricate dark story that weaved together perfectly! I had the pleasure of listening to the audiobook version and I'm so glad I did. The narrators were great and did a fantastic job capturing and holding my attention. Even when when the chilling storyline was hard to listen too. I'll definitely be looking out for more work by T.M. Dunn!
Thank you Crooked Lane Books, Dreamscape Media, NetGalley and T.M. Dunn for the opportunity to review the audio version of this book

Could not get into this book and gave it a grand try, unfortunately I found the father bazaar from following his victims to becoming the person the victims use to be, and then just leaving them to rot as he takes over their life.

Absolutely 100% could not stop reading this book.
The actors and their justification for their deeds.
The need and codependency.
The love and acceptance.
The drama.
The dual POV and dual timelines.
All perfect. Will definitely read more by this author.

I thought this book was overall pretty average. The plot was plain and boring, despite the story it was trying to tell. I tried to be interested but ultimately failed. The characters were written so stiffly, and I think that was the biggest drawback. I understand that the father was a very stiff character - like that was his whole personality - but it just didn't fit for everyone else in the story.
The best part of the book was the ending, not because it was finally over but because it seemed to be the only part that had any actual tension. And then so many loose threads are summed up so quickly that I honestly felt like the author forgot about them until the editor reminded them.
Despite all of that, the narrators did amazing. A worse narrator and I probably would have DNFed it.

A dark listen that made housework and yard work a breeze to get through. Great narration that supported the vibe of the storyline.

Holy buckets of crazy!! This book was just wild. It's not rare for an occupation, business or skill to be passed down from generation to generation. In this case, it's acting but with a twist...
The whole time I was listening to this audiobook, I was trying to figure it out and sort out good from bad. There's a lot going on - all of it super entertaining. I loved the serial killer vibe and the whole crematorium/exterminator angle was so well thought out. Overall, a great story and awesome narration!

"A rat ate a woman and she's dead"
With that call Linda's life is forever changed in the masterfully plotted domestic psychological thriller Her Father's Daughter by ingenious author T.M. Dunn.
Linda and Anthony are Donovan and Daughter Exterminators. She enters an apt and smells "Chanel No.5 and death" as a rat is chewing on a dead woman. Crazier one of the detectives is her ex-girlfriend. Her father visiting her mother's grave can't be found. His story is told through his notebooks in 5 acts, much like a play; which is appropriate since he considers himself an actor who's willing to sacrifice it all to hone his craft. That's it. Everything else is a spoiler!
I finished this unsettling, shockingly twisty tale in one night. Narrators David Bendena and Cara Swingline shine in their first person dual POVs roles. In the end Linda may be too late and become her father's daughter.
I received a free copy of this audiobook from Dreamscape Media via #NetGalley for a fair and honest review. All opinions are my own.

This book is such a unique and refreshing look at the serial killer trope. There’s also a dysfunctional family and some NYC rats which gave this book some surprising twists! I listened to this one in a day because it’s completely bingeable and the narrators, Cara Swingline and David Bendena, are truly captivating.
Told in dual points of view and dual timelines, HER FATHER’S DAUGHTER shines a light on how a psychopath can truly see how their actions are necessary and conscripted. Linda and Anthony are two completely different people. Anthony, Linda’s father, has been running the “family business” ever since his father passed away and now it’s time to teach Linda the ropes. His POV is told through notebooks he’s written for her describing his life, his infatuation with her mother, and how everything changed once she entered the picture. Linda’s POV is present day and follows her through her search for Anthony after his recent and sudden disappearance. She thinks their family business is the pest control service they run together but once she finds the notebooks, her entire world changes.
I thoroughly enjoyed this fast-paced twisted tale. The ending was a tad rushed but it was solid all the same. This one releases TOMORROW and I hope you pick up a copy to enjoy as much as I did!

This story is told from a multi narrator perspective, between Linda telling us about present events, and letter entries from her father to her detailing past events, and through both of these we learn how the two timelines and stories intertwine.
Neither main character is easy to like, and Linda in particular comes across as selfish and obnoxious. The ‘acts’ and past history sections are intense and a little confusing with so much information included, jumping from one thing to the next quickly, and talking a lot about characters and acting, I found them difficult to fully grasp what was happening. The amount of information and different narratives we are exposed to becomes a little overwhelming at times.
The story did have prospects for lots of suspense and intrigue, with themes of stalking, abuse, murder and lies, but falls short of delivering on this sadly. The past history sections reveal too much too early and leave you with no real twists or surprise moments further into the book.
Personally not keen on the narrators, neither voice engaged or gripped me enough or I found my mind wandering on several occasions. An solid 3* read, but not my favourite book.

3.5 Stars
This was hard to rate. I love the dad's POV but didn't care for Linda's.
Linda and her dad are exterminators. While working a job, Linda found one of their long-time client dead. Both Linda and her dad were called in for questioning. Instead of cooperating with the cops, Linda's dad ran away! Why?! Read to find out!
I love the dad's POV. He explained his past, Linda's mom, and his master plan. It was fascinating to see things through his perspective and thought process. Linda's POV, on the other hand, wasn't that memorable. She was either whining or confused. I wanted more from her character.
Overall, good but not perfect.
***Thank you to NetGalley, T.M. Dunn, and Dreamscape Media for graciously sending me the audiobook to review. As always, all thoughts are my own.***

This was truly a wild ride! I really did not see him trying to make his daughter into what he was. How did he really think that was going to turn out for him??? This was my 1st book by T.M. Dunn but will most definitely not be my last, I was hooked and couldn't put it down!

Thank you Dreamscape Media, T. M. Dunn, and Netgalley for this audiobook in exchange for and honest review. Loved the narration amongst both narrators. I love multiple narrators in the book and the two POVs. The storyline grips you right away. It was a fast paced book and I finished it within 2 days of listening to it. A solid 🌟🌟🌟🌟 from me!

What would you do when you find out your entire life is built upon a lie? This is exactly what happens to twenty-something Linda Donovan. Linda has spent her entire life being raised by her father, Anthony. They are so close that Linda even followed his footsteps into the family business, extermination. When Linda finds a deceased woman on one of her jobs, and subsequently finds notebooks her father left telling the true story of his past and hers, her life is changed forever. This book is a race against time to find Anthony and figure out of the wrongs of the past can be righted.
I liked the premise of this book. I enjoy books that have multiple narration to tell a fuller picture of what is happening. For me personally, this book fell short in a few areas. I never quite developed an interest in Anthony and Linda. I love a book where you are really rooting for the main characters, and I was not able to get there with these characters. Towards the end of the book, the author discloses information about Anthony and Linda that helps you better understand their choices. I wish this had been disclosed a bit earlier because I think it would have helped me connect with the characters more. Thank you NetGalley for an advanced copy of this book and allowing me to give my personal opinions.

Thank you NetGalley and Dreamscape Media for the advanced listener’s copy in exchange for my honest review.
Loved this dark and disturbing domestic suspense! The narrators, David Bendena and Cara Swingline were excellent narrators! Both kept me on the edge of my seat.
The pacing was excellent and I was especially drawn to Anthony Donovan’s chapters, which were journal entries for his daughter, Linda, explaining his life. He had one crazy life!!
So many twists and turns in this book. Had me guessing what the heck was going to happen next! Really enjoyed Linda’s POV and her interesting love affairs.

Thanks Dreamscape and NetGalley for the audiobook copy of this novel in exchange for an honest review.
And honestly I do not know what I think of this book. In one part we have Linda, a younger woman who works for her father’s company as an exterminator. She’s also dealing with the heartbreak of losing her girlfriend. I wasn’t overly crazy about her narrator but I did like her storyline. Aside from the dead body she found. I can handle a lot of gore but a rat chewing on a body was my limit.
The other half of the book (back and forth between chapters) is the long tale of a serial actor (?) While this man is falling in love with a woman he is also explaining how he stalks people, kidnaps them in order to study to become a train conductor or an exterminator or whatever role he finds intriguing. Because this isn’t bizarre enough, he kills them afterward. Many, many people. I struggled with this character but chalked it up to a sociopathic serial killer is s bit hard to relate to.
The stories did weave together well enough by the end. I still didn’t like it by the end, but again, that might just have been me not meshing with characters or narrators. A lot happened in the book and characters were pretty well developed and memorable. The setting was very vivid - I like when I can picture a book and this was clear. I give it a three out of five as while there were good things there was a bit too much chaos and not always a clear explanation in Linda’s world for pieces.

Her Father's Daughter by T.M.Dunn was a wonderful unexpected surprise all around. The story had a little bit of a slow start, but once it got going, it REALLY got going. Here is a description from the publisher:Twenty-five-year-old Linda Donovan has spent her life working for her father, Anthony, at Donovan and Daughter Exterminators in New York City. On the anniversary of her mother’s death, her father makes his annual visit to his late wife’s grave while Linda heads to a Park Avenue apartment building to work solo. When she arrives, she finds the body of an elderly resident, partially eaten by rats. The gruesome death not only speaks poorly of the Donovans’ exterminating services—it also points to foul play. When the cops show up, they demand to speak to Linda’s father. But despite her efforts to contact him, Anthony has gone off the radar. As he evades a possible murder charge, Linda’s father records in five notebooks—and five damning acts—the story of how he met and fell in love with her mother, a previously untold history of familial abuse, tormented souls, and true love gone terribly wrong.
As someone who enjoys audiobooks, I can be a little bit critical of the narrators as they can unfortunately make or break the experience. I appreciated that there were two distinct narrators for both Linda and Anthony. Both were very good but David Bendena truly stole the show. T.M.Dunn created a complex character in Anthony and Bendena's narration was phenomenal. This character was fascinating, unique and frightening. I believe this is Dunn's first publication and I look forward to more well-developed plots from this author in the future.

3.5 stars, rated up to 4. I listened to this as an audiobook. The narrator did a good job and kept my attention for the most part. It is the story of Linda and Anthony, a father/daughter extermination duo. One day, Linda does the job by herself and discovers a dead body in one of the apartments. To her surprise, her father is soon a person of interest in the case. Linda’s story was interesting but Anthony’s story captivated me. I love how it was told like an autobiography. I have always been fascinated with serial killers and their motives and this book touched on that a bit.
I enjoyed the book and would recommend it to thriller book lovers. It is so interesting, disturbing and creepy, but I could not put it down! Some of the graphic descriptions are a little too much.
Thank you to @netgalley @crookedlanebooks and @patriciadunnauthor for the arc copy of this book! My opinion is my own!

I enjoy dual and multiple POV'S and storylines and this book did it nicely while not being confusing. This is a skill specifically when their on audio since you dont have the physical copy to refernce. The narration was engaging and the story well paced. While some of it was predictable, there were enough additional details sprinkled in that kept me second guessing myself! I haven't seen books by this author before, so if this is the first, well done! I'll be on the lookout for TM Dunn in the future.
