ADELAIDE AND THE COSMIC RESCUE SQUAD by Zoe Twitt is a wonderful spooky season read with a strong message of courage and navigating the feeling of fear. As a parent, I know that a lot of times my kids don't know how to self-regulate when they feel afraid, and books like this are so helpful for giving imagery and phrases to use and speak to themselves during those times. I also really appreciated that the core message is for us to help others AND speak truth to ourselves when we feel scared. I can't wait to read this book at bedtime with my child who loves witchy books and trick-or-treating.

This children’s book is a good read for Halloween and perhaps for kids who are afraid of the dark as they embark on trick-or-treating adventures. I liked the beautiful, whimsical illustrations and the glowing orbs of lights. Unfortunately, this book suffers a bit from an identity crisis as the point of the plot doesn’t really become apparent until halfway through the book. This is a quick, playful read but lands in the middle of the road for me.

How could I not get this book when the main character shares the same name as my daughter? Adelaide and the Cosmic Rescue Squad is a fun Halloween picture book that shares a story of overcoming fears and helping others. It is a sweet uplifting story that I think many children can enjoy even when it is not Halloween.

This is a cute book, but in previewing it, I think it is for older children. My child is not a fan of the dark and the shadows in the book may be a little scary for my child, but I think overall the story is cute for older kids.

This book is ADORABLE! Adelaide and her friends set out to trick or treat on Halloween, but at the sun goes down, Adelaide realizes she’s afraid of the dark. Good thing there’s a witchlet in a golden bubble who appears to help them! Together, they spread light to all of the children!

This book is beautifully written and illustrated, and is great for young kiddos who may be struggling with a fear of the dark, or perhaps they just love Halloween!

The QR code on the front takes you to the audiobook, which includes guided imagery and meditation at the end of the reading. It’s so peaceful and calming, that I closed my eyes and just let it soothe me!

This book publishes on August 31, and I’ll definitely grab a copy for my little 3 year old, Halloween-loving daughter!

Thank you so much to Enchanted Press and Netgalley for the ebook to read and review.

It’s Halloween and Adelaide is ready for trick or treating, but darkness gets too much so witchlet Zara comes to help, then the children all want to help others feel safe and not be scared of the dark.

I really loved that after Zara came and helped that all the children wanted to help, they listened to Zara and found ways together to make the world easier for all children struggling with the darkness. It was so sweet and gives children in real life a tool to use themselves if scared of the dark. I also really loved that it was set at Halloween, as it’s a fun night for children but can cause lots of anxiety so it’s great this story portrayed that and also what to do in those situations.

The illustrations were really cute, each child in their costumes and then seeing their golden bubbles growing and growing. I liked the colour tones used for the illustrations. I do recommend this book it’s a great book for helping calm a child that might be getting scared, helps them re-focus their minds on something safer and more fun. This book shares tools and advise in a really easy and fun way that children would enjoy.

Adelaide and the Cosmic Rescue Squad by Zoe Twitt - 4/5
Children's Fiction - Parenting & Families - Health, Mind & Body

This is book one in the Cosmic Rescue Squad series, and it was a delightful and easy read. I love that all the friends come together and help those in need.

When Adelaide and her friends are trick or treating and it starts becoming dark, scaring some. A tiny witchlet appears and helps Adelaide and her friends create a light to help everyone who is scared of the dark.
