Karen Booth's Their After Hours Playbook was an extremely enjoyable read. I loved the characters of Paige Moss and Zach Armstrong. This was an older woman younger man, rivals to lovers, supposedly one nightstand, sports romance.

Paige Moss has worked extremely hard to get where she is in the male-dominated world of sports management. She has to work harder for her female athletes than her male counterparts to even get just a tenth of what male athletes get. Her signing the latest female basketball phenom was no accident. But Alexis Simmons wants the one thing Paige has trouble producing, endorsement deals.

Zach Armstrong has worked at his father’s sport management company for a while now. Many within the organization feel he only became CEO because he’s the owner’s son. But Zach has worked hard. For years, his father has refused to represent female athletes. Now that Zach is in charge, he has plans to change this.

A chance encounter between Zach and Paige results in him wanting to get to know her better, not just as a woman but also as a colleague. Unfortunately for Zach, Paige has a history of disdain for Zach’s father and thus him by proxy. When the two find themselves together at a big professional event in Las Vegas, attraction and desire boils over. As the two work to keep their affair under wraps and feelings in check, a misunderstanding, and old wounds threaten to destroy what could be an amazing love affair.

Their After Hours Playbook encompasses everything I love about Karen Booth’s writing. She had me loving the characters and rooting for them to be together. She brought passion and wonderful banter to the story. This time around, the dark moment wasn’t as dark as she’s been known to write. The story was pretty straightforward. This was a bittersweet story for me to read, as Their After Hours Playbook marked Karen’s final book with Harlequin Desire, as the line has been shuttered. Without question, she ended on a high note.

This is a good book. It has two stories in this book. They both have two main characters who are opposite of each other. They both bicker with each other. They start dating. They each have issues but together they work them out and fall in love.

OVERALL SPICE: 🔥🔥.5

THEIR AFTER HOURS PLAYBOOK
RATING: ⭐⭐⭐
SPICE: 🔥🔥🔥

Zach Armstrong had big shoes to fill, having inherited his stepfather's sports agency. When he tried to expand the business to female athletes, his path crossed with Paige Moss, who would eventually become his rival. A night at the biggest sports expo in Vegas leads to passion. Can these two balance the thin line between love and hate?

This read had a great premise. Sports romance and enemies-to-lovers? Yes. Rival agents? Even better. But the delivery was just alright. I really liked the build-up in this read, but the end left something to be desired and felt rushed.

ONE WILD WEDDING WEEKEND
RATING: ⭐⭐⭐
SPICE: 🔥🔥
Daley Martin and Tristan Hamilton were about to become family. The business rivals were coming to their siblings' wedding, but the tension turned their truce into something more. It was only for a weekend, they tell themselves; they won't see each other much again. But when their companies merged, they cannot avoid the contact and the tension.

This read also held so much promise, but the delivery was not quite as good as expected. Again, rivals to lovers is totally my jam, and I really wanted to like this read. The pacing seemed off, and while I understand this was a short read, it just seemed rushed and gave two characters with so much potential not very much depth.

Paige is a sport agent with curves, an older woman and making moves for female athletes. Zach is a sexy CEO of a rival sport agency. Zach and Paige are rivals enemies and are attracted to each other. Paige feels that Zach is trying to take her clients. They meet up in Vegas for a sports event their feelings are known to each other. The two of them enjoy their steamy time in Vegas. When Paige and Zach return from Vegas trying to continue what they shared in Vegas outside inference from Zach’s dad rears its ugly head. Zach and Paige are great together, love their attraction, chemistry and love for each other.
Will Zach’s dad continue with his meddling in what he and Paige have going, will Zach and Paige work together to continue to make their companies successful, will the two have an HEA that they desire and deserved?

Oh wow, I can’t believe that the end of this line is coming for the Harlequin Desire Series. I have had such joy in reading this line. I surely hope that all of the authors of the Desire Line find homes so that I can continue to read the awesome fantasies that they put together for the readers enjoyment. Janice Maynard as usual brings her characters to life in “One Wild Wedding Weekend”. This is an enemy to lovers entertaining read that brought me hours of enjoyment. Daley has her own internet ad agency. Tristan is a sexy alpha playboy, CEO of his godfather’s advertising agency Lieberman and Dunn and according to him he doesn’t do relationships. Daley is the maid of honor in her sister Tabby’s wedding who just so happens to be marrying her arch enemy’s brother. An offer is made to Daley to buy out her agency from Tristan’s company. These two have to work together for the upcoming nuptials of their siblings wedding and pretend to like each other. As Daley and Tristan are working together they banter back and forth and soon learn that they have more in common than they think that they have. These two are such a cute couple.

Will Tristan and Daley band their companies together, will they give into their feelings and have an HEA that they both deserve and desire?

Spot on with a side of steam....

Karen Booth delivers a spot on fresh and edgy book about sports agents. As a global producer at a certain footwear company, the insights to the systematic problems of sports agencies, endorsements and female athletes are absolutely spot on. Paige Moss is 42 and a highly successful sports agent focusing on female athletes. We need more Paige Moss'. Do we need more Zach Armstrong's? Zach is 30, just taking over his stepfather's successful but extremely misogyinstic sports ageny. Everything comes easy to Zach, women, athletes, endorsment deals (he is NOT a woman). He does want more female athletes, and of course his stepfather wants him to steal Paige's new client.

I did like that Zach was a yellow lab for Paige. She makes him very eager, for anything she throws his way.
Recommend.

Wild Wedding Weekend.
A steamy, enemy to lovers weekend. Daley hates Tristan, but they have to play nice for the wedding. They agree for a hot wedding fling.
Recommend.

* Reviewing Their After Hours Playbook by Karen Booth *

Fast paced and addictive! Karen Booth delivers a high octane, dramatic finish to her Harlequin Desire career when she delivers a powerful female heroine in her final novel that is sure to delight all. I loved this unique and fresh plot idea and really enjoyed both characters. We didn't get to delve into Paige's background a whole lot, but the story felt complete and rewarding so it didn't feel lacking in any way. I really loved Paige and Zach together!

Paige is self-assured and ready to take on the world to accomplish all of her hopes and dreams in life and I was there for every minute of her sass. I really enjoyed watching her not give up on her passion, and watching her soften enough to recognize love when she least expected it as well.

I highly recommend this book to anyone that enjoys drama wrapped up in your romance with strong characters, intriguing story lines and a rewarding happily ever after.

I liked Paige and Zach individually and together, and they had great chemistry. I cried at the break, but wasn’t sure how this was going to resolve. I’m not sure I believe the ending would really happen, but I’m glad they figured out a way to be together.

Daley and Tristan were rivals, who just happened to have siblings that got married. They both had some baggage to overcome, but they had some great chemistry that helped propel them into lovers and finally HEA.

Their After-Hours Playbook by Karen Booth

Paige and Zach are both sports agents working for competing agencies. Not only that, but Zach's father, who owns his agency, and Paige are not on good terms. They are fighting the instant attraction they feel when they meet but when they are at a trade show in Vegas, the flame of attraction becomes a 4-alarm blaze. Paige is scared to risk her heart again after the loss of her first marriage and the death of her mother. Zach has recently been appointed to head of the agency by his father at the age of 30. Zach wants his hard work to be respected and to be taken seriously at his profession. Can they overcome the obstacles and find their happily ever after? I enjoyed both Paige and Zach and their journey to love. It is a charming story that will leave you with a smile. I also loved the younger man/older woman dynamic; it's refreshing to see.

I admit to not being so much a fan of the sports romances, but this book won me over. Zach will melt your heart. He is the kind of guy we all hope to find.

Wild Wedding Weekend by Janice Maynard

Daley Martin and Tristan Hamilton both run ad agencies; Daley with one that focuses on social media and Tristan is CEO of a large established agency. Daley sees Tristan as the enemy thinks he is poaching her clients. Now he is about to become her baby sister’s brother-in-law!

Daley and Tristan will have to play nice as they are the maid of honor and best man at their siblings’ wedding. Playing nice becomes giving in to mutual attraction, no strings and trying to keep it from the bride and groom. Tristan’s boss and Godfather/Honorary Uncle has offered to buy Daley’s company. Will they be able to keep at no strings attached or will they find that life is better together. Read the book and enjoy Daley and Tristan story.

I have to admit that Janice Maynard is one of my favorite authors and she did not disappoint with this one. She crafts the story that is heartfelt and slightly steamy. We get to know Tristan and Daley and what has made them both leery of relationships. It was also nice to get to know the siblings John and Tabby as well.

Thank you NetGalley and Harlequin for the chance to read this story.
