Kiersten Modglin never ceases to amaze me. She has time and time again come up with suspenseful, shocking stories that I can’t put down. I’m really in awe at how well she delivers a story. I was immediately shocked and upset? Maybe upset not the correct word here but I was feeling something crazy. And then she did it like 5 more times in this book. Great writing and delivery!
I chose to listen to this and let me tell you, it was GREAT! Andrew Eiden and Kim Churchill were the narrators and they were perfect. I loved it! I highly recommend listening to it.

This was a fun quick listen! I liked the dual narrators and felt like the short chapters kept me listening and thinking, just one more chapter. Her novels are always fun and take twists and this fun book is no exception. I received a free copy of this book from netgalley and the publisher in exchange for my honest review.

I enjoy this author and this book is no different. I enjoyed the suspense and even some family drama. Who doesn't like that?

A couple finally setting in: one a doctor, the other a case manager at an adoption agency. (an unusual profession for stories like these)
But someone knows about things they did in the past and is determined to use this against them, if they don't act as demanded.

This is a bit different than Kiersten's other books and I think that is why I liked it a bit more! Although I enjoy all her books. But this one has the certain thing and it isn't as popcorn-y as usual!
Thank you #NetGalley #Dreamscape Media for this early audiobook

The book really did not turn out the way I expected it would; in a lot of ways, it was a very different kind of story than I’d initially thought and, likewise, felt different to a lot of other novels from the writer. I enjoyed it, though, and some parts about the ending stuck with me. No matter what the narrative type, there’s something about the author’s writing style that almost always works for me.

Wait for Dark is loaded with suspense, debauchery, blackmail and hidden past secrets. It’s a face paced, page turner your want be able to put down!
The Ashley's marriage is something to make others envious. Their love for each other is the type one can ever dream about. They share their secrets with each other, and don't hide anything from each other..or so they both think! They had only one rule: no new clients. When Willa and her husband, Hudson, break their one and only rule the consequences might just tear them apart.
Many thanks to @netgalley @dreamscapemedia for a ALC

I love KMod, I love the premise of this book, and I never thought I’d say it, but this one fell a little flat for me. Willa and Hudson were pretty well adjusted I think that sort of killed it for me? I was waiting for a huge bomb to drop the entire time and well, it didn’t really. We got a little fireworks but they were quickly resolved and no major pieces of my mind were blown to smithereens like I’m used to when reading KMod thrillers.

That being said, this was still a gripping read from start to finish and I can’t say I’ll ever regret reading one of Kiersten’s books. She’s the master of writing plot lines and characters that I love to hate and this was no different. And while the big plot twist reveal wasn’t to her usual standard, there were plenty of smaller twists I didn’t see coming to keep me invested along the way.

I listened to this one on audio and the narrators were fantastic. Kim Churchill did such a great job with Willa and if I’m being honest, I’d listen to Andrew narrate the phone book and stay invested. KMod continues to get fantastic narration for her books and I will continue to listen to every single one.

Another edge of your seat domestic thriller by KMod! This one kicked into high gear right from the first chapter. I never know what to expect with a KMod book but I always know it’s going to be some kind of crazy ride. As usual, I hesitate to give any details because the spoilers start early and keep on coming. Do yourself a favor— go in blind and buckle up!
*Thanks to Dreamscape Media and NetGalley for this advance audiobook copy for review.

Hudson and Willa are happily married - he a doctor and she a case manager at an adoption agency. Though, when his side job puts them in hot water, they are scrambling to fight their wrongs.

What a hit!! Such a bingeable, thrilling and twisty read! I had such a fun time reading this one and absolutely loved how all of the threads slowly unwound and revealed themselves. I was a little annoyed at how dumb these MCs became once they were clouded with emotions but overall this one had me guessing the whole way through. Also highly recommend the audio, the cast did a fantastic job on this one (about to go listen to some more books narrated by Andrew Eiden!). 4.5 ⭐️

This is my 3rd Modglin book and once again she has managed to keep us entertained and guessing. The story follows the Andrews, a successful couple established in their careers, and living the American dream. That is until a mysterious opportunity comes knocking at their doorstep; although its's an opportunity that gives them pause, the offer is far too sweet to refuse.

What happens next is that Modglin gives us hours of entertainment that isn't easily anticipated. I thought to myself what is going on here, I didn't see that coming and how did she think of every detail like this?
I finished this book in a day! I really loved that we had more than one Pov and loved that the first chapter started from Hudson's voice. I also loved Adrew Elden as the voice of Hudson. It was my first introduction to him, and he did an amazing job! I can't wait to read more by this narrator.

I am so happy I got the chance to read this book. I really like Modglin's style of writing and can't wait to read more by this author. Thank you to Netgalley and Dreamscape Media for the opportunity to read this ARC for my honest review.

Thank you to NetGalley, Kiersten Modglin and Dreamscape Media for an advance audio galley of Wait for Dark in exchange for an honest review. This review is wholly my one, except for any quotations, and may not be reproduced.

“The Ashleys are determined to build a future detached from the issues of their pasts, and it seems to be working: they’re happily married, in love, established in their dream careers, and closer than ever to being debt-free.

But when a mysterious opportunity arrives with an offer they can’t refuse, everything changes. Soon, they meet her: she’s rich, powerful, single-minded in her goals, and not used to being told no. Worst of all, she knows about the dirty deeds they’ve done in the dark…

If they don’t do exactly what she wants, the ramifications of their secrets being exposed are endless. In a battle of wits against a woman who knows too much, the Ashleys find themselves with an impossible choice to make. Whom do you trust when the only person who can save you is the one who might bring you down?”

I am a fan of Kiersten Modglin. Her suspense/thrillers are always enthralling and always a quick audio listen, which I LOVE. Bump that speed up to 3x & I’m done in 2ish hours. This one is fresh on my mind since I was able to start & finish while I got ready for work & drove to work this morning.

As always, I was captivated by the plot and actually really enjoyed the two main characters, which a lot of times I don’t, in these shorter novels. But man, I DEFINITELY could not willingly allow what Willa did in her marriage. I honestly don’t know, realistically, any wife who could. But, I guess Willa & Hudson had such a deep love that they made their situation work.

It was a fairly predictable story. Except there was one detail that I didn’t figure out & thinking back now, I SHOULD have figured it out, but it was kind of a side issue, so I didn’t really put any thought into it. The author snuck that little twist in under the radar!

Was this the best thriller/suspense I’ve ever read? No. But it was what I expect when reading a Kiersten Modglin story. She is consistent with compelling plots & characters and sometimes I don’t need or want a “mind blowing” story and want to KNOW that I have a “go to” safe author who will give me an intriguing story.

I will definitely promote on my Bookstagram with a great review!
