This was a fast listen and overall for me an ok story. I really did enjoy the narrators but the story line was just so far fetched for me. I'm starting to think maybe I'm just not a fan of this author's writing. I do like that her books are short and fast paced but the few I've read have storylines that are just really unbelievable.

Not much more I can say about Kiersten Modglin, other than read her books!
She is definitely the Queen of twists! This is another faced paced, page turner, full of twists thriller. I got through it in one sitting. I think this is best to go in blind, not know too much about it and be prepared to be blown away with a very clever storyline.
Many thanks to @netgalley @dreamscapemedia for a ALC 🥰

"Sometimes even when your relationship is strong...you have to wait for the dark times to come along and prove your strength."
The marriage of Willa and Hudson is put to the ultimate test in the domestic psychological thriller Wait For Dark by premier thriller author Kiersten Modglin.
Willa's an adoption social worker. Hudson's an OB GYN. They are in love. They have secrets. Someone knows everything. Will she break their marriage? Will she make them pay for their secrets? Or will they prove love can save them?
Once again, this writer, tells a nail biting, twist in almost every chapter, story. Narrators Kim Churchill and Andrew Eldin bring the nerve wrecking angst in their first person POV performances. Don't wait for dark to experience this well crafted thriller.
I received a free copy of this audiobook from Dreamscape Media via #NetGalley for a fair and honest review. All opinions are my own.

This was pretty good and a great read. Was able to fish out on one sitting. Not sure if buy it but it's definitely recommend it to friends

I feel like nothing really happened for over sixty percent of the story. The two main characters, a married couple, are being blackmailed into giving a wealthy woman a baby, by any means necessary. The concept seems so far fetched. At around ninety percent the story takes lots of twist and turns and the whole storyline is revealed. I actually like when the plot has substance throughout the book, not just towards the end. So while I do absolutely love Modglin's work, this one was a big dud for me.
The narrators were great and did an amazing job! I would definitely listen to more audiobooks read by them, separately or together.

Kiersten Moglin is one of my "always buy" authors. I am honestly so impressed with her writing and how she hits it out of the park everytime. Not only that, but it seems the woman writes books almost as fast as i read them!
I love going into my books with no previous knowledge, so this was not the tomb i was expecting for a book called "Wait for Dark". That being said, it was outstanding. Every character has just enough of an air of deaperation about them so that you understand their decisions, but not enough for them to be whiny or obnoxious. I was truly hoping everyone would win.
Thank you to NetGalley and the author for my advance copy of this audiobook.

Wait for Dark follows a young married couple, Hudson and Willa. Although they are happy together, Hudson and Willa are covering up big secrets that, if brought to light, could wreck their lives. A mysterious older woman enters the picture. She somehow knows their secrets and demands they give her what she wants...or else!
I liked that Modglin tells a comparatively short thriller that is quick-paced with evenly disperse developments and reveals.
The dual narration by Andrew Eiden and Kim Churchill, with POV switching each chapter, was fine.
What I did not like... there are believability issues with a number of plot points. Also, given the length of the book, the story does not bother to address these issues and flesh out details. Finally, I strong disliked the ending. I did not feel that it was a deserved or dramatically engaging conclusion.

WAIT FOR DARK by Kiersten Modglin is narrated by Andrew Eiden and Kim Churchill.
Another quick, twisty, and suspense-filled read! ⭐⭐⭐💫
I know that I can count on Modglin to deliver a snappy suspense, and in the midst of reading another heavy tome, I needed this.
I don't like giving much on a story like this, so I'll just say it involves a married couple with sketchy pasts and an interesting side hustle, a blackmailing older woman, and a best friend caught in the middle. If you've read one of her books before, you will be prepared for the fast-paced action of this story!
Having dual narrators for the voices of the Ashleys was a great way to listen. It kept the story moving and easy to follow. Both narrators gave the emotions and clarity of the characters.
While I enjoy these popcorn thrillers, this one felt a bit less thrilling to me. The original premise was outlandish and fun, but a bit of a stretch for me. I also wasn't sure how I felt at the end. I can't say why, but that one threw me a bit for a thriller.
Thank you to @netgalley & @dreamscape_media for this fun advanced audiobook and the opportunity to share my thoughts! July 18th is the Pubday!

I really liked this audiobook. There was a very interesting couple twists. It was definitely a quick read (listen) I finished it in a night. The two narrators are great and I’d like to hear more with them.

I loved this book! It strikes me as a romantic thriller. I not only enjoyed to storyline (very creative) but the real life adversities the author wove in. The characters are very realistic and relatable. Not often do you find a "Feel good" thriller. The ending made my day!

I received a gifted audiobook for WAIT FOR DARK by Kiersten Modglin for an honest review. Thank you to Dreamscape Media and Netgalley for the opportunity to read and review!
Rating: 3.5 / 5
WAIT FOR DARK follows an unconventional couple. On the one hand, they are a couple of professionals (he a doctor, she a social worker) in a very strong relationship. On the other hand, their life has been expensive and he’s working a side job you might not expect to help make ends meet. When something goes wrong when meeting a new client, the pair soon find themselves blackmailed with a steep price. The woman holds their entire future over their head and everything is on the line.
I have heard good things about this author, so was excited to pick this book up when I saw the audiobook on Netgalley. It was a quick read (just short of six hours on audio) and it did catch my attention quickly. The synopsis was pretty vague, so I didn’t quite know what to expect going in.
This was an interesting one! I think for me it felt a bit more family drama than true thriller, but it definitely caught my interest. I think that the author did well at developing everything in a relatively short period of time and kept twists coming as more comes to the surface to challenge our central characters. There is a lot of moral grayness happening here and I think that was done well.
I think this is one worth picking up if you enjoy a domestic thriller with a lot of moral ambiguity. I had a good time with it overall!

Loved this unique storyline! It was a quick read/listen. I enjoyed the narrators voices and ability to add some wow to the expression while reading.
Love supporting Kiersten Modglin’s - they never disappoint!! Please continue to have her books available on NetGalley!

What would you do to keep your old secrets buried and your current secrets hidden? Not the typical storyline which I appreciate. I didn’t love the main characters but appreciated their love and trust for each other given the circumstances they chose to start their relationship. Every time there’s a new unveil I just want to scream kill her, that is your only option. 😂
60% the book really takes off but I wish it would have moved a little faster from the beginning. Twists and turns coming front after that point!
The narrators were great and easy to follow.
Trigger: The book was adoption centered, there were very positive aspects about adoption. One thing I will add while I loved the main character’s enthusiasm to build famlies the one part missing was the trauma that also is experienced.

I enjoyed this story, but it wasn't what I have come to expect from KMod. Usually she gives us these twists and turns that have me gasping, but this felt like a general domestic thriller. Am I glad I listened? Absolutely! But I probably won't be picking this one up again.
This story was definitely wild and crazy and had me cringing at the characters deceit and manipulation. She is just so dang good at writing villains and even "good" guys I love to hate. There was a twist or two there that I enjoyed, and as always with KMod her stories are really fascinating and pack a punch in a relatively small amount of pages.
This was probably her most stable of her married couples I've ever read, which was refreshing. But they really were the worst too lol I couldn't decide how I wanted things to play out in the end to be honest, but it really was a well told story.
Teddy Hamilton, er, Andrew Eiden... and Kim Churchill narrated this one and it was seriously amazing. I've really enjoyed all of KMod's narration choices, but this is probably my favorite by far. It definitely helped ease the blow of this not being my favorite from her.

KM writes the most bizarre and twisted couples! And I love it.
This one sucked me right in. We meet Willa, who works for an adoption agency, and her husband, Hudson, an OB/GYN. They seem to have a wonderful life.
But then . . . we learn about Hudson's other job. And that is what leads them to some trouble.
His wife knows about the job, but what it brings them, no one was expecting.
Secrets are about to be exposed unless they can fulfill the blackmailer's demand. This one will keep you on the edge of your seat.
Many thanks to NetGalley and Dreamscape Media for an ALC in exchange for my honest review.

I thought the pacing of this one was a tad bit off but other than that, I really enjoyed this. I've read a ton by Kiersten Modglin now and have enjoyed every single one and she somehow manages to make every new release totally different from her past novels. This one has a really unique storyline and characters. I thought the lead male character was especially intriguing and I really wish she had included more about him. Overall thought I think the characters were all really great. I would have loved a little more development of all of them because they were all interesting in their own ways. Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for this ARC in exchange for an honest review.

Happy Publication Day to the #WaitForDark audiobook, even though I'm not a big fan of audiobooks I had a great time listening to it and the narrators did a great job at giving life to the characters I was immersed in the book.
Our novel is a jaw-dropping one full of suspense, secrets, and twist and turns.
It follows the lives of Hudson Ashley and his wife Willa.
Hudson is a successful Gynecologist who worked hard to get here but the road wasn't that easy coz he had to be an escort/sex worker to afford college. However, this double life continued after the marriage coz they have a lot of debts to pay, and when Willa made peace with Hudson's double life they agreed to continue with it following specific conditions.
However, when a client of Hudson turned the tables on him and started blackmailing him to get her a BABY!!! Everything started downhill from this point and the Ashleys have to figure out a way out of this mess or else JAIL is the destination.
It was a good, fast-paced, small-chapters kind of novel. I skipped through it very fast and it was a change from all the romances I've reading lately of course, Kiersten's books are always a treat so that was a bonus.
Thank you to @netgalley and the publisher for granting me an ALC of #WaitForDark in exchange for my honest review.
Xoxo

As always - another 5 star read by Kiersten Modglin! The delicious plot, creepy vibes and twists are always spot on - ones I never see coming. I loved Wait For Dark and highly recommend it to any mystery and thriller lovers!

I recently had the pleasure of listening to an audio that truly captivated me with its intriguing storyline and a web of secrets. The narrative centered around a couple faced with a challenging situation, forcing them to confront their hidden pasts before they came together. What ensues is a thrilling tale where a third person emerges, demanding retribution for past mistakes. Although the twist wasn't my personal favorite, it added an unexpected element to the story that kept me engaged throughout.
One of the aspects that truly stood out to me was the pace of the audiobook. It flowed smoothly, allowing me to effortlessly immerse myself in the plot and characters. The author's ability to maintain a brisk tempo heightened the sense of urgency and kept me eagerly turning the pages. It's always a joy to come across a book that can be devoured quickly, while still providing an enthralling experience.
The author skillfully crafted an air of mystery, shrouding the characters and their pasts in secrecy. This added depth to the overall plot, keeping me guessing and eager to unravel the truth behind their hidden histories. I found myself completely engrossed in their journey as they navigated the tangled web of their own past actions and the arrival of the enigmatic third person.
While the twist introduced in the story wasn't my personal favorite, it certainly had its merits. It injected an element of surprise and complexity, serving as a turning point in the narrative. Although it didn't resonate with me as strongly as other twists I've encountered, it still managed to add an intriguing layer to the overall plot.
In conclusion, the audio I listened to successfully captured my attention with its engaging blend of mystery and secrets. The fast-paced nature of the book made it an enjoyable and effortless read, allowing me to become fully absorbed in the characters' world. While the twist may not have been my favorite, it nevertheless brought an unexpected twist to the story. If you're a fan of mysterious narratives with hidden pasts and a touch of intrigue, this audio is certainly worth exploring.

It was a fun thriller with a lot of twists that I didn't see coming. I don't like reading about cheaters so it was an uncomfortable read in that way so overall it was an okay read.
