When I read the brief synopsis for this book on Netgalley, I thought I'd be getting a mild thriller, a sort of palate cleanser after my last intense read. Just something to listen to during my very early mornings.
Wait for Dark was an all-consuming thrill ride that I couldn't stop playing long into the night. The synopsis was a little ambiguous about the Ashleys and their personal lives, and at no point did I expect their particular 'professions', nor their connection to the black mailer. I never had a clue what was coming and I could not put this down. I was sure their was no way out of this for them and the ending was extremely satisfying.
The two narrators definitely made this story for me. Their voices were engaging and made it very easy to differentiate the characters.

This was unlike any KMOD book I’ve read so far. I feel like these characters were the most well adjusted and sane with the best marriage out of all of her books that I read. But of course this is a KMod book so nothing is that easy.
To say that Willa and Hudson have a unique marriage would be an understatement. But they seem to have a lot of love and trust between them so it works for them. Until one day when everything goes horribly wrong and they are being blackmailed into doing the unthinkable.
This was a pretty romantic book for KMod and while it was definitely still a domestic thriller this one fell a bit flat for me. Maybe her characters were too well adjusted or something. Because I kept waiting for the other shoe to drop in their relationship and it only kinda did. Especially because I feel like there was a giant plot hole with it.
KMod writes these situations that I love to hate and she definitely did that here. But I just feel like the twists weren’t at her usual level and that was a bit shocking. But that being said, I have never felt I was wasting my time reading one of her books and I still feel that way.
The narrators did a wonderful job. I don’t know how she always gets these amazing narrators but she did it again.

Another great Psychological Domestic Thriller from Kiersten Modglin! Such a quick listen and the narration was superb! As with most of her books it keeps you on the edge of your seat waiting to see what happens next. Absolutely enjoyed this one.

I usually love the author’s books but this one wasn’t it for me. It had a promising storyline but I didn’t like the characters and some of the scenarios they got into were just odd. I listened to the audiobook and the narration was excellent! I will definitely read more by this author but this one wasn’t a favorite.

An intense and unpredictable listen that grips readers from start to finish. LITERALLY!
A must-read for fans of gripping and evocative storytelling, where not everything is as it seems, even in what appears to be a perfect couple.
The narrators, Andrew Eiden and Kim Churchill kept me glued listening till the very end! Before I knew it the story was over.
Are the Ashleys willing to do anything to keep their dark secrets safe?

Quick and easy popcorn thriller, great narration. This was my first K Modglin listen....will check out more in the future!

This book was not for me.
I enjoyed the narrator, and had no issues with that at all.
This was my first book by Kiersten Modglin, and I think overall, the book was a little too Lifetime Movie like for my taste.
Hudson is a respected doctor, and his wife Willa works for an adoption agency. On the side, Hudson works as an escort to supplement their income. The one rule was - No new clients. When Hudson breaks the rule, the couple finds themselves being blackmailed by wealthy woman, June. Produce a baby in a week, or risk losing everything.
I have heard a lot of great things about this author's books. I just found the whole thing to be slightly over the top for my liking. It was super unrealistic. I found June's character to be whiney and demanding and unreasonable (yes, even for a blackmailer). It all just kind of culminated and ended with some weird plot twists. Overall, the idea was there, but it felt rushed and over the top.

Firstly, I am thankful for the opportunity to have received a free copy of this Audiobook through Netgalley in exchange for my honest review.
The Ashley's have created a life for themselves and they are happy, but someone knows the secrets of their pasts and if she doesn't get what she wants.....look out.!
I was excited for this one, as I have enjoyed some previous novels from this author before. An interesting premise and an enjoyable enough read, but not enough to really wow me.
Some twists and turns thrown in there but I feel this one was not as exciting as some of her others, and the ending was a little disappointing.
Sorry!
I rate this Audiobook 3 ⭐⭐⭐ stars.

Willa and Hudson are happily married. Hudson's a gynecologist and also has a side hustle (prostitution). Willa's a social worker, putting adoptive families together. She's totally aware of Hudson's side hustle because it helps them pay bills (I know, you just gotta go with it).
One night things go seriously awry for Hudson at his "evening job" (though thankfully with clothes on), and sets into motion a fairly well thought out blackmail plot. It's decently twisty and engrossing, though Willa's Big Secret is more of a mild to moderate secret, I'm still gonna go with 4 stars.
The epilogue didn't work at all for me. This is a mystery/thriller, I didn't care what happened to the characters after the reveal.
I LOVE Andrew Eiden's narration (as usual), and enjoyed Kim Churchill as well.
Many thanks to Dreamscape Media for providing me an audio ARC of this novel in exchange for my honest opinion.

Thanks to NetGalley and Dreamscape Media for the ARC of this audio book. The narration by Andrew Eiden and Kim Churchill was good.
What a ridiculous plot 🙄 The eye-roll moments started from the beginning when I read a gynecologist with a fairly successful practice had to prostitute himself to earn extra money. No one would believe that doctors are so hard up for money. I almost choked when he says if i don't do this, I will not be able to get the fence mended. There was nothing to redeem the plot in the middle or in the end. The villain had lot of money at her disposal. She could have achieved whatever she wanted without resorting to blackmail. The reason for the villain's actions is revealed in the end, which was even more convoluted and non-sensical.
The audio narration was good. I am glad that the book was short.
This is my first book by Kiersten Modglin and will be my last.

The Ashleys have an unconventional marriage, but it works well for them..... until they're blackmailed by a very powerful person for no identifiable reason.
As always with Kiersten Modglin, this one is a quick read with lots of twists. Some of them were obvious, but many weren't. It's hard to share specific things I liked without spoiling anything, but fans of 'The Arrangement' series will absolutely love this one!

Thank you Netgalley and Dreamscape Media for the ALC.
Story: 🌟🌟🌟
Narration: 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟
Overall: 🌟🌟🌟
Wait For Dark is an entertaining, twisty thriller about two people who appear to be the perfect couple, but are hiding many dark secrets. The Ashleys are close to the future they always dreamed of - debt-free with their dream careers and each other. Only one woman stands in their way and she knows everything they have done to get their dream.
This was such a twisty read and was impossible to put down. The full cast narration was perfect and I loved the audio format. I can’t wait to read whatever Modglin writes next!
ALC was provided by the publisher via Netgalley in exchange for an honest review.

I really didn't want to continue this book. Just didn't seem for me but ended up really liking this book. I listened to the audio and the narrators were great along with the story and the ending. A surprising great thriller!

Where does KMod come up with these stories?!? A happily married couple is doing their best to make their lives better and thrive. They are happy. Until one day, they encounter someone that flips them on their heads and secrets are revealed. An older woman steps into their lives and wants nothing more than to destroy who they are. Long buried secrets are brought to light and you aren’t certain who - if any - will survive! Thanks to NetGalley for the read.
The narrators did a really nice job of bringing the characters to life. They played off each other well and made the story come to life.

Many thanks to NetGalley and Dreamscape Media for the free audio book in exchange for an honest review. The narration is by Andrew Eiden; Kim Churchill, both of whom do an exceptional job.
Sooo, I requested this book thinking this was a legit mystery and not 'lady-porn'. An OB-Gyn supplements his income by being a male prostitute and his wife is ok with that?....no thanks. Summary needed to be a WHOLE lot more clear as to the plot or lack there of. Not my normal read.
1 star due to the lack of clarity of what I would be reading.

Wait for Dark
by Kiersten Modglin
Narrated by Andrew Eiden; Kim Churchill
KMod does it again! Wait for Dark is a quick listen that will entertain and keep you wondering what is going to happen until the very end. I love that KMod always comes up with such unique stories, ones that I've never read any similar before. Like this one. Hudson and his wife Willa end up in an extremely situation when one of Hudson's encounters goes terribly wrong. He quickly realizes that he's been set up and before you know it, his wife is tied up in it as well. With a small but very fun cast of characters, this quick listen will leave you entertained and ready for the next KMod book. The narration was well done and fit the characters well.
Thanks so much to NetGalley, KMod and Dreamscape Media to for the chance to listen to and review this ARC!

I loved both of the narrators of this book. The story started off really good and kept me engaged throughout. I was really interested in what was going to happen next. The characters each had their own secrets and lies but the ending didn't quite live up to the rest of the book.
Thank you to NetGalley, Kiersten Modglin and Dreamscape Media for an ALC in exchange for an honest review.

This was an interesting listen for sure and definitely not what I expected going into it! There were so many secrets and so many lies it was hard to keep up at times! Both of the main characters, along with all of the side characters, were keeping secrets upon secrets. But they all ended up being exposed in the end .
I do like how everyone ended up though.
This author always keeps me on my toes and I never expect what I’m going to get.

This was so different from anything I’ve read before! Modglin always delivers something completely unexpected and that’s why I love her books so much!

I listened to this book and did not read it. I like listening to Kiersten Modglin’s books because they tend to be on the shorter side and are decent enough stories that have some thrill to them.
I will say this book was not my favorite by her. Some of the “twists” were obvious. The story just wasn’t appealing to me.
I will continue to listen to/read the rest of her books, but this one wasn’t for me.
