The author is a little bit hit or miss for me. My first book of hers was The Arrangement and that was a home run. Some others have been more family drama with a little bit of suspense or mystery and those aren’t really my genre. This one gave me vibes of The Arrangement and had me all in from the start. You have a husband and wife telling the story with dual narrators, Andrew Eiden and Kim Churchill.
It is fast paced and you are quickly thrown into their weird living situation. Out of context. Before you eventually get those details you need to fill in the blanks. The twists keep you on your toes. I was never sure if either of them were reliable, even to themselves, and what was true. There were many a moment that this story was vividly playing out in my mind. I think that is due to the great match of story and narrators.
And personally I find her books to be most enjoyable as an audiobook. The listening part of my brain really connects with the twisty story this way. And the narrators hit it out of the park. Hitting all the right notes both frenzied and relaxed, as the story called for it.
While this does not knock off The Arrangement as my favorite of her books, this was an enjoyable listen. If you like to take a break for what I call popcorn fiction, this should be on your radar.

Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for a copy of this audiobook in exchange for an honest review.
OMG! This book was so wonderful and sucked me in from the beginning. Kiersten’s books are quickly becoming a favorite of mine because of how gripping they are and they are quick and entertaining reads. At times Willa and Hudson were questionable characters, but then they really showed how they are real people and real people have flaws. I enjoyed these characters and the overall book.

The way that Kiersten Modglin's books hook me in from the first page and then I blink and its hours later and the book is finished is astounding. She knows how to deliver a good thriller with all the twists and turns. This is the 21st book I've read by Modglin and they just continue to get better each time. This is the perfect thriller to pop your headphones in a listen to while cleaning the house, that is until you realize you've gotten too invested in the book and you've been standing in the middle of your kitchen holding a broom for 10 minutes.
I really appreciate the dual narration for the different point of view in this audiobook, makes it so much easier to follow.
Thank you to the publisher and NetGalley for giving me a copy of this in exchange for an honest review.

Kiersten Modglin sets up a story in such a way that you have no idea what the outcome could possibly be; the characters always seem to be painted into a corner with no way out. Then when all hope is lost, she creates such an unexpected ending. There are so many twists that you have no idea how this could possibly go well and then it does. This book kept me on the edge of my seat and I enjoyed the ride.

What a fun audiobook!
Willa and Hudson have the perfect marriage (although it has a little bit of an unconventional aspect to it). They also are both successful in their dream careers. Willa is a social worker and Hudson is an OB/GYN. They are striving to save for their dream house, when a new player enters the game and changes everything. She wants something from them and she won’t take no for an answer. Everything from their careers to their relationship is on the line. Secrets are uncovered. Will it all come crashing down?
I really enjoyed this audiobook. It was a quick listen and it kept me engaged the entire time. The narrators were awesome and really brought life to the characters.
I did figure out the twist, but I’m not holding that against the author, because I still very much wanted to see how it played out. I was not disappointed.
Thank you to Netgalley and Dreamscape Media for the ALC in exchange for an honest review.

Kiersten Modglin’s latest book, Wait for Dark had me on the edge of my seat. I really enjoyed this audio and I loved all the narrators too.

Kiersten’s books always have a way of sucking you in and not letting go until the end and this was no exception. This was a super twisted and dark domestic thriller that left me with my jaw dropped on more than one occasion.
Willa and her husband, Hudsonhave an unconventional yet transparent marriage. She is an adoption case worker and he is a gynecologist by day and a high end escort escort by night. They both have secrets that the other knows not her about however, so the transparency only goes so far. When someone comes into their lives and threatens to blow their worlds apart if they don’t do what they say, Christa and Hudson have to figure out what how much they are willing to do in order to protect those secrets.
Fast paced and will keep you on the edge of your seat, I was able to listen in one day and the narrators were fab!
Thanks to the author for this audiobook arc in exchange for my review.

I was interested in reading this because I had heard good things about the author. I listened to an audio copy. There were two narrators, one male and one female. I generally prefer one but I didn’t find this too distracting.
My interest was caught right from the start. I was not expecting this storyline based on the synopsis I read and I was curious to see where it went. And the story kept going in directions I wasn’t expecting. Not twists - just unexpected storylines.
The plot moved quickly and many of the twists (all fairly minor) were u expected. I was surprised how quickly I got through the audio. the book was shorter than most I read, but I appreciated that there wasn’t just filler to make it longer.
I rated this 4.5, rounded up to 5. I will definitely read more by this author after this!
Thank you to NetGalley for providing me an audio copy of Wait for Dark, which I have reviewed honestly and voluntarily.

Wait For Dark is a dark psychological thriller that is told in a dual point of view from husband and wife - Hudson and Willa Ashley. Hudson is a doctor, Willia is a social worker, but Hudson has a secret. A secret that can ruin everything and one June Cromwell is willing to blackmail to get what she wants.

This story is short, fast paced, and super easy to get addicted to. I found myself wanting to know more about this couples secret and just how low they planned to go in order to get the blackmailer off their back. I listened to this really quickly, but found there were some plot holes that left me with some unanswered questions. I also didn’t find this one as thrilling or jaw dropping as I’m used to with KMod. Even still I enjoyed this one. The ending was pretty twisty, though nothing over the top wild.
•
I listened to this one via audio and this had dual narrators as well - which is literally my favorite, especially with male/female roles! Andrew Eiden and Kim Churchill played the couple great and again, I flew through this story so fast.
•
Overall this one is a super quick bingable read that will have you so curious to find out what happens next. Wait for Dark is available on KU, but the audio will be released on 7/18. Be sure to check it out!

Huge thank you to NetGalley, Dreamscape Media and Kiersten Modglin for the ALC in exchange for my honest review.

Dr. Hudson Ashley and his wife Willa are happily married for years. Nothing change until there’s a mysterious offer with big amount of money comes from a rich and powerful woman that Dr. Hudson has no reason to reject it. Once he has accepted the offer, he knew it is a trap and now he has no choice but to be threatened to satisfy what this powerful woman’s need.
Both Hudson and Willa are hiding secrets from each other. They can’t say it out, because they know the secrets they are hiding can destroy their marriage.
Will they overcome this challenge together? And will you accept the mysterious offer?
I love the story plot and the twists. Cleverly crafted! All the characters are smartly connected. Once it hits the ending, it gives me a big wow. Fast paced and surprising! Both narrators created the tension through their intonation and the pause.
The ending part is meaningful and here’s the extract:
“You have to wait for the dark time to come along to proof your strength. Darkness will always find us. There’s no escaping it. “

ARC audiobook provided in exchange for an honest review.
Wow! I really loved the dual narration on this book! Since it’s told almost exclusively from the husband and wife’s point of views, it works out perfectly! Both of their voices were precise and easy to listen to, I finished in a few hours! The story is about a married couple that have what appears to be the perfect relationship, but they both have secrets they’re hiding and everything will be revealed. If you like psychological thrillers with unreliable narrators I would definitely recommend this book!

Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for the ARC.
I usually love Modglin’s books but this just wasn’t as good as the others. It was a bit of an off mixture about a rather unconventional marriage and I had a hard time getting interested in it.
Narrators weren’t my favorite either. This one just wasn’t what I was expecting.

When it comes to books by the author I find I am either gaga over them or think what is she riding? This was a mixture of a little of both I really liked Willa and Hudson a couple very much in love Willa is a social worker and Hudson is a gynecologist/gigolo. He started having sex for money in college so he could pay the bills and still have time to study but once he married Willow and let me just say he married her without never having dated her or even kissed her but he proposed and she said yes and although his college debts were paid her or not. Although he is still being a gigolo he only does it for very few clients and only those he’s been saying for years but when one of his regular clients Constance refers someone in offers to pay three times the price Hudson agrees. What the client wants however isn’t on any gigolo menu and will also involve his wife Willa. Although I found the circumstances in which Hudson felt under pressure to do it a bit dubious I found Willow solution to be the smart one but of course it wouldn’t be a Kiersten Modglin book without the evolving into deadly chaos and it does. I wouldn’t say this is her best because when she is good she is very good but this also isn’t her worst all at first scoffed at a gold ecologist still being a gigolo but I know when starting out with college debt times can be tough and I found Hudson and Willow to be very likable characters not to mention I listen to the audiobook and think the narrators both did a phenomenal job love them so much! I am definitely giving this book 4 stars and although I probably would’ve felt OK giving it three that was just something about Willow‘s response and the ending that I just loved. I want to thank dreamscape media in Net galley for my free arc copy of the audiobook please forgive any mistakes as I am blind and dictate my review.

I was approved to listed to the audiobook through NetGalley this morning. Thankfully, I had free time today because I could not stop listening. I am normally into psychological thrillers or thrillers in general, but there is something about this author’s writing that gets me hooked as well. I think it’s written very well and suspenseful enough to keep the listener/reader listening/reading. The narrators did a fantastic job as well. Thank you to the author, Dreamscape Media and NetGalley for allowing me the opportunity to listen to an advanced copy in exchange for my honest feedback. All thoughts are my own.

This is my twentieth Kiersten Modglin novel. Needless to say I am a fan.
Story is told from the POV of a young marriage couple Hudson and Willa Ashley who have been married for a few years, and are truly quite happy but have an unconventional marriage. Hudson is an ObGyn physician and Willa is a social worker. When Hudson was in college and had no family to help him with his college expenses he got a part-time job which has been a major help with his debt. Willa is aware of his job and knows what his clients want but the money is great; she rationalizes that someday this will have been worth it.
Hudson’s extra job continues to help with their finances and Hudson decided that with status quo they should be okay and tells his manage no more new clients. However, the new client has been referred by another client so Hudson ends up accepting only finds out that this client wants something else and is willing to do anything to get it.
Once again author, Kiersten Modglin, delivers a great psychological thriller.
I was sure I had figured out some of it ~LOL
I am a big audiobook fan and the narrators Andrew Eiden and Kim Churchill did a super job performing these characters.
Want to thank NetGalley and Dreamscape Media for granting me this early unputdownable audiobook.
Publishing Release Date scheduled for July 17, 2023.

Hudson Ashley is a gynecologist and his wife, Willa, an adoption manager, seem to have a wonderful marriage. Hudson just happens to have a side gig as an escort in order to pay off their debt and work toward bigger dreams, with the support of his wife of course. One night, when meeting a new client goes wrong, the couple end up being blackmailed with their secrets by an older rich woman that will do anything to get a baby. They have to decide if they will give this woman what she wants or have their secrets come to light.
I enjoyed that this was a nice quick audiobook but I had a lot of unanswered questions and the twists didn’t seem as great as her other stories.
I know some people might question the name of this book and wonder what it has to do with the story but it will make sense at the end although a different name would’ve been better.
Thank you Dreamscape Media for my audio ARC of Wait for Dark. The narrators were wonderful.
The audio version of this book is available on July 18, 2023.

Wait For Dark was a fantastic book. I did not predict the ending, and that makes me very very happy.

Thank you Netgalley for the advance audiobook copy of Wait for Dark by Kiersten Modglin in exchange for an honest review. This was a quick, fun listen that I did in one evening. I really enjoyed the storyline and the ending.

The Ashley's are striving for a better life and when an opportunity comes up that could hit them with a financial windfall, they take it...even with the risks.
This story was a classic Modglin storyline...a marriage full of secrets. We quickly find out that Hudson (the husband) was living a double life of sorts and his wife Willa knew all about and supported it.
This book had all the fun of a popcorn thriller and I literally listened to this in one day! I just couldn't put it down.
Modglin can be hit or miss for me because at times her books are off the wall but this one was a fun and wild ride that I really enjoyed.
The audio was great and I love that there were two narrators.
Bring on the next Modglin novel!

“But optimism comes after coffee…”
Willa and Hudson appear to have the perfect marriage. Sure, they are working on paying down debt, but they are wildly in love with each other. Despite having secrets. Secrets that could threaten everything.
There is something so delightful about listening to a KMod book. I was fortunate to receive an arc for this book, so I had already read it. But having the characters brought to life and having the scenes acted out changes everything.
One of the many talents KMod has is bringing characters to life. Her characters have heart, soul, and secrets. This book was devoured over hours. Once I pressed play, there was just no stopping!
I found myself liking Hudson more in this audiobook; I think giving him a voice and allowing the performance bringing him to life gave him a dimension that I missed during my first read.
Kiersten weaves such intense, deliciously devious stories that have unique plot lines and twists you never see coming. How she can keep blowing me away, I will never know, but I am always grateful and excited!
Twisted, tricky, and topped with love, this book will grab you from page one!
