I truly love Kiersten Modglin's books! Having read almost all of them, I am always pleased with her character development and twists she manages to work in. "Wait for Dark" felt quite a bit different from her other books but it was still an interested premise. I liked the characters but a lot of the book was really off the wall and ultimately the "twists" fell short for me. Still a fun read but not her best.
Awesome narrators, did a great job making the story come to life.
Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for the opportunity to listen to this book in advance of publication.

I'm not sure what happened here. The characters' backgrounds were very convenient for the storyline. A gynecologist and someone who helped place children for adoption in their forever families. June is a rich, elderly woman who is lonely after the loss of her husband and her son. She wants to adopt a baby and is denied time and time again. She decides to blackmail the couple to get the baby she wants.
It had potential. I guess i was just expecting more of an "on the edge of your seat" ride. It fell flat for me and I was bored. The twists- eh- some were intriguing while others were added for shock appeal but were just kinda dumb, too be honest. They didn't all need to be there. To resist spoilers, I'll just say I don't know how some of the characters could all just be OK with everything revealed.
I was excited because I always love a k-mod thriller, but this one was underwhelming. I will still continue to seek out books by this author, this one just wasn't for me.
The narrator, however, was fantastic.
Thanks to #Netgalley and publishers for the copy!! I received an arc of the audio in exchange for my honest review.

K Mod's thrillers are always so amazingly jaw dropping. This one had me shocked (in a good way!) right from the start. I listened to this book in one sitting - I just had to keep going, it was too good to stop! The narration was fab and kept me intrigued throughout. Another big tick for the thriller queen from me!

I love this author’s book but this one was just ok. The narrator was great however I didn’t really connect with the characters or the story. It was entertaining but it didn’t “wow” me like her books usually do.

Wait for dark by kiersten Modglin July 18. Another couple’s murder mystery. When Howard second job -paid sex partner-causes a rich old woman to be able to put he and his wife in a blackmail situation that could change some people’s lives

3.5-4 stars
I really liked this audiobook, finished it in one day. The narrators were great and I loved the alternating POVs.
I think parts of it were a little out-there, and I do wish some of the twists (like the one regarding June’s husband) had been explained a little more. It was a page turner though. My first from this author, and I look forward to reading more from her.
Thank you to NetGalley and Dreamscape Media for the advanced copy in exchange for my honest review.

KMOD does it again! Everyone had secrets in this story! It started off with a bang and I couldn't put it down. KMOD is truly the twisty Queen. The narration was great and was very distinct to keep up with the story. I would recommend to others to listen to!
Thanks to NetGalley and the publisher for the ARC in exchange for my honest opinion.

What a unique, fast-paced domestic thriller - one which is a real page-turner. The story is packed with action and includes blackmail, intrigue, lies and deceit - which slowly unravel to ensure that there is never a dull moment. This book will have you on the edge of your seat and once you start you will not want to put it down until the final page. The story is told from dual PoV's, with characters who are in an unconventional, quirky relationship - so getting perspectives from both of the main characters adds depth to their dynamic. This is a pretty quick read - I had the audio format, which is great entertainment for 7 hours and 38 minutes. The audio has great narrators (especially Andrew Elden), and because the story is packed with action, it felt like a much shorter book. Many thanks to NetGallery and Dreamscape Media for allowing me to get a copy of this fantastic book.

Thanks to #NetGalley and #DreamscapeMedia for the ARC of #WaitForDark by #KierstenModglin. This book was incredible. It had relationships issues, drama, secrets and twists-all the good stuff. Another 5 star book for Kiersten my me.

I absolutely loved this! So many twists and it had me on my toes the whole time. I kept thinking I had it figured out just to be proven wrong soon after. While it was pretty fast paced, it didn’t feel rushed at all. I definitely recommend this one!

I did it to myself. 100% my fault. I have resisted K Mod torture for 3 months now. The only saving grace was this book was only 6 hours.
Not to be arrogant, but I think I have moved beyond K Mod books. I am all for people reading, I don't care what you read as long as you read (especially kids *Note there are things you should NOT read i.e. things with an agenda ) so if mindless unrealistic juveinille thrillers are your jam but get your nose in a book, I say go for it sister.
There is so much about this book that is just silly and unrealistic. A doctor who prostitutes himself out to older women so he can afford a sports car and house work? A wife who allows this? Her only request is he take a shower so he doesnt smell the other womens perfume? Come on
Thankfully we were spared the 7 twist that are usually thrown at us at the end and just had 2.
I honestly can't say this book is for me, on to more "grown up" books.
Thank you Netgally and Kiersten Modglin for this advanced audio listen.I was not influenced for my honest review.

Thanks to NetGalley for this audiobook ARC in exchange for an honest review.
Wow! I devoured Wait For Dark. It’s a fast-paced thriller with twists all over. Kiersten knows how to catch your attention and keep it.

Big thanks to Dreamscape Media for the ALC to read and review! Audio comes out in just a few days!

3.5 stars!
I'd recommend you read this is you love: a quick read packed with action & drama, small character cast, LOTS of twists, pretty addictive storyline!
I do love Kiersten Modglin's thrillers, usually. They're fast-paced, packed with thrill, drama, action... My favorite reads are ones where, even if I don't predict the twist(s) before it (they) happens, I can look back and appreciate the breadcrumbs and clues the author has left for readers to pick up on throughout the story. This is not like that at all. These twists come out of nowhere.
The twists are there, the twists are aplenty, but they're completely just revealed to the reader with no preamble.
All that said I'm rounding my 3.5 stars up because: this was addictive, the storyline is far out there but was so entertaining to read! The narrator's voices fit what I imagined for the characters incredibly well. It's short, twisty and it made me want to keep listening to find out where this train wreck was headed. And everything wraps up nicely by the end so that's helpful.

Doctor Hudson Ashley and his wife, adoption manager, Willa seem to have the perfect marriage. Open, honest, communicative. Hudson has a job as an escort on the side with his wife’s support. Unfortunately, the pair do have secrets that are exploited for another woman’s gain. This story was my first by this author, and of interested to me through narrator Andrew Eiden (who did a great job). The story was well laid out—twisty and turny. However, each twist was pretty predictable and I found myself waiting for confirmation of my thoughts more than getting lost in the book. Also, I couldn’t help but think that the premise was overly complicated, which unfortunately made it too unbelievable for me. That said, I like the writing style and would definitely read another by this author!

I was able to listen to this story in a day as I was totally immersed in the story.
Wow, the pickle people can get themselves into, and our young couple were no exception. The Ashleys are a hard working couple, as he is a early stage doctor and she works at an adoption agency. What makes them "slightly" different, is how they make extra money to pay their bills. They are definitely a goal oriented couple, even though their extracurricular jobs are not conventional.
Hudson has been called to work his extra job and gets pulled into a story where he "stumbles upon a woman who he was suppose to "meet" being raped. He intervenes as any gentlemen would do, and he is set up for a future shock.
Later, bearing pictures of the tussle and a knife, Hunter's date threatens to expose him and his beloved wife, Willa, unless she, a very wealthy woman gets what he wants. The couple does have secrets, ones they thought were buried, but this woman seems to know them all.
Once I got started on this one, I just couldn't stop listening. It was fast paced, had great characters, and so many twists that sucked me right in.
Thank you to Kiersten Modglin, Dreamscape Media and NetGalley for the ability to listen to this fascinating story. The moderators, Andrew Eiden and Kim Churchill did a fine job with this one.

The Ashleys are very happy together and excited for the future. An opportunity comes, and their past sins come back to haunt them.
Many thanks to Net Galley and Dreamscape Media for an audio copy of Wait for Dark for an honest review.

Kiersten Modglin is an auto buy for me, so the second I saw a new audio book on Netgalley I had to request it! Another thrilling, fast paced story I listened to in a day.
The first few chapters had my head spinning. I kept thinking, is that really what I read?! And the characters quickly fill you in on their arrangement.
Then they meet June.
June will stop at nothing to get what she wants. Hudson and Willa are struggling as secrets come out, but they aren’t the only ones with something to hide.
Quite the scenario! A twisty read that keeps you on edge. A quick read, and always impressed with how much she can fit into one story!
I listened on audio and the dual narrators were wonderful and easy to follow along with! I typically listen to Modglin’s books on audio because I always enjoy the narrators voices.

The story is filled with unexpected twists and turns that will leave you guessing until the very end. The author has a remarkable knack for creating tension and maintaining a gripping atmosphere throughout the entire book.

Kiersten Modglin's ability to craft an enticing and suspenseful plot, coupled with well-developed characters, makes "Wait for Dark" a must-read!

I love all this authors work. This was no exception. I thought the concept was pretty interesting and nothing I have seen before. I was kind of confused in the beginning but it went away after a couple of chapters.

This was a quick and enjoyable thriller to read. It was full of twists and a nice mix of dark and light, and for once a thriller with nicely realized characters, instead of just villainous caricatures. I appreciated the ways this story managed to deviate from the genre standards just enough while still keeping the plot moving at a quick and twisty pace.
The audiobook was nicely narrated by Kim Churchill and the always-welcome Andrew Eiden.
Thank you Kiersten Modglin, Dreamscape Media, and NetGalley for providing this ALC for review consideration. All opinions expressed are my own.
