Light Amish novellas about four sisters each finding their way. in the world. I found Wanda Brunstetter's novella to be well-written but not so much the other three. There were grammatical issues, and they didn't flow well. This feed back is solely for NetGalley - i will be leaving a different review on Goodreads explaining more about the stories!

I enjoyed all 4 stories of these four women but The Seashell Cake is my favorite. I could picture Leora standing there making that cake. Plus it made me drool lol.
I'm giving these short stories 5 stars because I enjoyed being in Pinecraft. A place I hope to see someday. I almost live across the state from it.
These stories offer hope, forgiveness, love and romance.
It is what I liked best about these
I also learned many things about each character but most specifically about Leora. I had no idea her condition existed.
I read each of these stories on separate days because I wanted to savor each story.
I highly recommend
There's a little of something in these stories for everyone! What's not to love?!
My thanks for a copy of this book

Sisters by the Sea contains four novellas written by Wanda E. Brunstetter, Jean Brunstetter, Richelle Brunstetter, and Lorine Brunstetter Van Corbach. We get to travel to Sarasota, Florida to spend time with Leora Lambright and her sisters, Violet, Francine, and Alana. I liked that the stories were set in nearby Sarasota. I was familiar with some of the places mentioned, especially Siesta Key (a beautiful beach). I liked the characters, but I wish they had been fleshed out more (I know that is hard to do in a short story). The characters are realistic and relatable. I thought the authors gave us a realistic look at women who have grown up Amish and are at a crossroads. They need to decide whether to be baptized or not as well as where they would like to live. I like that a spotlight is shown on SAD (seasonal affective disorder). There are good life lessons and encouragement in each tale. I enjoyed the descriptions of the beaches. I could envision the beautiful blue ocean and feel warm sand between my toes. I liked how faith was incorporated into each story and I appreciated that the romances were clean (there was some kissing). Sisters by the Sea transports you to sunny Sarasota with a seashell cake, a persistent suitor, beautiful beaches, artistic sisters, stunning sunsets, and supportive parents.

4 Novellas by four authors, focusing on real life emotions, feelings & illness and how they all reach out to others & recognize that they all need each other.
*The Seashell Cake by Wanda E. Brunstetter - Leora Lambright leaves Indiana for Florida to get help with a disorder she's been struggling with. John Miller is on a much needed vacation. Will this long distance relationship work out?
* The Beach Ball by Jean Brunstetter - Violet struggles with telling Dan that she's Amish. She's also struggling with being Amish. Levi is refusing to accept that Violet doesn't want a relationship with him. Will she decide what is right for her?
* Fragments of a Sand Dollar by Richelle Brunstetter - Francine heads to Florida after a breakup with her boyfriend. While there she meets Lucas. The story of the Sand Dollar brings them together, but not in the way they were expecting, especially after a surprise visit from Matthew & a secret bet confuses Francine even more.
* A Sarasota Sunset by Lorine Brunstetter - Alana Lambright suffers from anxiety & finds peace & comfort in her art. She discovers seashell art as part of her healing. James Miller has a past of his own & isn't fond of Alana's Amish ways. Can their situations help them or drive them farther apart?

Sisters By the Sea by Wanda E. Brunstetter and others is a collection of short stories about sisters whose lives take them in different directions. Throughout their journeys, the sisters remain true to their faith and true and respectful of each other. Regardless of the direction each sister took, their love for each other and God guided their steps.

A copy was provided for my review, but all opinions are my own.

Wanda E. Brunstetter, Jean Brunstetter, Richelle Brunstetter, and Lorine Brunstetter Van Corbach each wrote a short story with each story about one of four sisters who go to at separate times to Sarasota, Florida.
These sisters grew up Amish in Indiana. Some of them aren't sure yet what they want to do with the rest of their lives. Do they want to join the Amish church and remain Amish, or do they want something different?
Each story is sweet and entertaining.
I was given an advanced ecopy by the publisher, Barbour Fiction through Netgalley. I was under no obligation to leave a positive review.

Sisters by the Sea is a set of four novellas about four Amish sisters searching for their place in the world. Wanda Brunstetter is very knowledgeable on Amish life and customs and brings that information into her stories.

In the first story, oldest sister, Leora leaves her Amish community for sunny Florida due to her ongoing health condition. The other stories each touch on the previous sister and characters are reunited. Each sister has a challenge to overcome and an opportunity to decided to remain Amish or leave for the Englisher world. Regardless of each woman's decision, there is no judgement or bitterness. They are sisters and love each other.

These stories are short and easy-to-read. I enjoy beach stories and liked reading the descriptions of the ladies wading in the salty sea or collecting seashells. Anyone who is fond of Amish fiction or Hallmark type stories will enjoy Sisters by the Sea!

Four separate short stories make up this book, one written by Wanda Brunstetter and the rest each by a different family member. It’s a cute idea and was executed well. Each story ties into the next, about four sisters. Good Christian values and nice stories. Id love to see another collection like this in the future!

Four Amish Sisters Develop New Beginnings in Sarasota, Florida
Journey with the bestselling Brunstetter authors to the unique tropical Amish community in Sarasota, Florida, along with four young sisters originally from Indiana.
The Seashell Cake by Wanda E. Brunstetter
Leora Lambright is the first to leave home, seeking a warmer climate for health reasons. While on a winter holiday, roofer John Miller meets Leora in the bakery where she is enjoying expressing herself through cake decorating. They are instantly attracted to each other and spend several days bike riding, fishing, playing shuffleboard, and trying local restaurants. But when Leora makes it clear she’ll never again live up north, without explaining why. Has the romance ended before it could even blossom?
The Beach Ball by Jean Brunstetter
Violet, the youngest of the four Lambright sisters, has always been a bit wild. She moves to Florida to live with her sister as she seeks her independence and considers leaving the Amish way of life. She works as a waitress and drives her own car. Her beauty and free spirit attract a lot of male attention like Levi, who is also Amish. When she first meets Dan Hunter, it is his little red sports car that she admires first, but while dating Dan, Levi keeps trying to make Violet commit to him. Can she settle on who should have her heart and how to live out her faith?
Fragments of a Sand Dollar by Richelle Brunstetter
Francine Lambright is heartbroken that her longtime boyfriend, Matthew, is thinking of leaving the Amish faith, and they have broken up. She is ready to join the church, but her sister invites her to Florida for an extended visit before taking the pledge of faith. While shell hunting at Lido Beach, Francine meets Lucas Hayes, and they soon begin seeing each other, despite him being an Englisher. When Matthew shows up in Pinecraft unexpectedly, how will Francine’s heart respond?
A Sarasota Sunset by Lorine Brunstetter Van Corbach
Alana Lambright has suffered a series of unfortunate accidents and emotional traumas that have left her plagued by anxiety. She turns to art for peace and healing. While on a visit to her sister in Florida, she takes up seashell artwork and accepts a job in a gift shop. James Miller, a recent college graduate, meets Alana, and, due to his own past, he is initially turned off by the fact that she is Amish. Still he invites Alana on adventurous outings. Alana tries to tamp her anxiety to try the activities but fails and feels like it pushes James away. Can they each deal with the heaviness in their pasts to embrace a future together?

it was amazing

I enjoyed this Brunstetter collaboration of stories from Barbour Publishing which I received my copy from through NetGalley. This is my own unsolicited opinion about the book written by Wanda Brunstetter and her family members, Jean, Richelle and Lorine Brunstetter Van Corbach. The authors share the stories of the Lanbright sisters who, over time travel to Florida, choose to change their lives in various ways and enjoy the chance to meet the loves that they are destined for.
The Seashell Cake, the first story by the beloved author, finds Leora leaving Shipshewana, Indiana to go to Pinecraft, Florida due to a health issue. Seasonal Affective Disorder, or SAD, seriously impacts her quality of life and she prays the sunnier days will help. Eventually, in the following stories, her sisters, Violet, Francine and Alana travel to Pinecraft as each one deals with a need to seek out what God intends for her life.
This is a set of well written stories with loveable characters. They blend well together and give the reader four separate romances. The special thing about the stories is that each young woman takes time to search her heart for her own purpose in God's plan. I enjoyed this very much.

Four novellas, each featuring one of the Lambright sisters as they move to Sarasota, Florida. Each story is unique in it's own way as the sisters decide on their future. Decisions to become members of the church of go the English way is carefully thought out. Faith is an important aspect in this collection. Although the stories are predictable in ways, they are still quite enjoyable.

Pack your backs- you’re going to Sarasota! This study follows four sisters from Indiana who travel to Florida. Wanda Brunstetter wrote this anthology with her daughter, daughter in law and granddaughter. Each woman write about a different sister’s experience. I loved this book! It had a wonderful message of family and faith.
I won't give away the ending but it tied up the story nicely. Many thanks to the authors, Barbour Publishing and NetGalley for a complimentary copy of the book. The opinions expressed in this review are entirely my own.

Wanda did it again and having the extra Brunstetter writers was just a plus. Wanda is my favorite Amish writer so when I came across this book I had to read it.

I received a copy of this book from Netgalley for my honest review.

Four great Amish stories set in the Sarasota, Florida area. I really enjoyed this book.

The sisters are great characters and it's fun to watch them grow and learn more about what they want from their lives. The setting is beautiful and the characters are interesting. Each sister has their own story and I enjoyed watching them - the writers are great at keeping everything moving and the stories together.

Thank you to NetGalley, the author and publisher for a temporary, digital ARC in return for my review.
