I’ve never read a book by this author before but I loved her writing style. The story line was Very captivating and kept you wanting more. I was invested in the characters and the men in this story were just so strong and determined. I really recommend this book!

Edward Gresham was a cold hearted man who treated his girlfriend with cruelty by leaving her, he found out in a letter from her sister that she died in childbirth and had bore him a son. Constance's sister demanded 5,000 pounds a year to support the boy.
William grew up with an unkind aunt and a drunken half brother. His grandfather willed the family property to him and he appreciated that. But lately William had been having accidents, his bed was set afire and he got sick from eating food.
Shelton, the aged gardener had been Williams' confidante and friend, and William appreciated him.
One day Horace, his half brother, in a drunken rage told him his father did not care for him. William asked Shelton who his father was and Shelton said he would tell him but he was late, so William went to the garden and found Shelton's throat cut, he told William his father was Edward Gresham and that William needed to leave.
William had his money stolen, so he went to an friend of his mothers' Lord Manigam, and asked for a job and for information about his father.
William found his father's townhouse, but his father was not there, he met his father's daughter, Isabella and told her he was looking for Mr. Gresham.
What do you think will happen when William meets his father? Who is trying to kill William?

Thanks netgallery and Barbour publishing for this ARC. I was transported back in time reading this beautifully written book. I found myself absorbed into the story very quickly, not being able to predict what was coming next, which was a lovely change for me. So I read the story in a day because I needed to know what was happening or why. I most enjoyed the main characters, especially Mr Kensley, what a man of character! I would encourage everyone to read this book. I will be looking for more by this author!

GARDEN OF THE MIDNIGHTS by HANNAH LINDER is a beautifully written historical romantic suspense novel with unforgettable characters, a well worked out and exciting plot, and a strong Christian message, mainly about the importance of forgiveness, running through it.
The story takes place in 1809. William Kensley, the illegitimate son of Constance Kensley and Edward Gresham, has been left to the mercies of his cruel aunt and alcoholic cousin With his mother dying in childbirth, his aunt and cousin!s jealousy and the attacks on himself and those who try to help him, he is warned to flee Rosenleigh and look for answers from his father, who lives at Sharottewood Manor in Leicestershire. He finds Edward’s daughter Isabella in London and they form a special friendship. Isabella, who loves the outdoors, riding her horse and walkng on the seashore, is delighted to find a companion who enjoys the same things she does…..
There is snobbery, pride, blackmail, jealousy, gossip, hatred and much more, as those of the ton look down on anyone less fortunate than themselves. Edward Gresham will do anything to avoid losing his important position in society and his inheritance….
I am not going to tell you any more for fear of spoiling things for you.
I cannot recommend this lovely read highly enough.
I was given a free copy of the book by NetGalley from Barbour Publishing. The opinions in this review are completely my own.
