Our book club had such a magical time with the Kiss the Girl Book Club Kit! Zoraida Córdova’s story is already enchanting on its own—romance, self-discovery, music, and a fairytale twist all rolled into one—but the kit transformed our meeting into something truly special. It gave us the perfect balance of thoughtful conversation and fun, creative touches that made us feel like we were stepping right into the book’s world.

The discussion questions were amazing. They went deeper than just “what did you like about the book?” and encouraged us to reflect on Arielle’s journey of finding her voice, embracing her passion, and navigating romance in the spotlight. We had such meaningful conversations about identity, love, and chasing your dreams—even relating it back to our own lives. At the same time, the prompts left plenty of room for us to gush over our favorite romantic moments and laugh about the witty banter. It kept the conversation flowing naturally, and no one felt left out.

The extras were where the magic really came alive. The themed activities and suggestions inspired us to bring a little bit of that fairytale-meets-pop-star vibe to our meeting. A couple of us even made sparkly, ocean-inspired snacks and mocktails to go with the theme, and one person showed up with seashell earrings just for fun! It gave the night a playful, immersive feel that made it more than just a book discussion—it felt like an event we were all part of.

What I loved most was how the kit made everyone engage with the book on different levels. Some of us connected most with the romance, others with Arielle’s inner strength, and others with the fairytale elements. The kit gave space for all of those perspectives, and by the end, we were buzzing with excitement, trading favorite quotes and planning which Disney-inspired read to tackle next.

This kit made Kiss the Girl not just a story we read, but a memory we created together as a group. It brought out laughter, swoons, and even a few heartfelt moments where we shared our own “finding your voice” stories. If you’re reading Zoraida Córdova’s Kiss the Girl with your book club, you absolutely need this kit. It’s magical, engaging, and will leave your whole group smiling long after the meeting ends. This book kit is awesome. We will apply it in our next book club meeting. We are all so excited!! We loved the drink recipe, suggested foods, suggested activities, and the printable bookmarks. The printable bookmarks, i think that was the best part, every bookworm likes bookmarks.

This book club kit s a great resource with discussion questions and the author interview! I found the author interview a great behind the scenes of how she wanted to adapt the story of the Little Mermaid and incorporating Latin American music. The bookmarks and recipes are really fun!

I haven't read this book yet but I can't wait to do so with this great and bookmark talking points. There’s something wildly fulfilling about sitting in a room (or Zoom square) with people who get it—who light up over the same plot twist, who argue passionately about a morally gray character, who aren’t afraid to say, “That ending? Trash.” I'll make sure to get to this soon.

I finally finished this book and I really didnt like it. I found the main character insufferable.

I didnt find the book interesting and found myself just wanting to read other books instead of this one. I was beginning to dread reading this and was soo happy when I finally finished it.

Our book club is so excited to eat through the Meant to Be series together over the summer! We are starting off strong with If the Shoe Fits by Julie Murphy and then will continue on through all five. I was so excited to find this kit available on NetGalley! This guide has it all and is similarly structured to the guides for the other books but with new activities to keep it fun if you are reading the whole series like we are: author interview, 10 different discussion questions, cute crafts like making bookmarks, a cute quiz that is reminiscent of Seventeen magazine quizzes from my childhood, a lip sync battle, food and drink recipes, and suggestions for future books to read.

The pages are whimsical and colorful and invite involvement by the members. The content is varied in topics, and it's a useful tool for book clubs to have meaningful discussion.

Kiss the Girl by Zoraida Córdova had me grinning from the first meet-cute—Ariel escaping her pop-star life and falling for indie rocker Eric felt like the perfect summer romance. The musical setting and banter between them? Chef’s kiss.

I loved Ariel’s journey to find her own voice—both creatively and personally—especially as she stood up to her controlling dad. The sisters added real heart, and the nods to Little Mermaid lore were fun without being over the top .

Some moments dragged in the middle, and the big reveal to Eric felt a bit predictable—but the chemistry, queer rep in the supporting cast, and Cinderella-for-mermaids twist totally won me over. If you want a feel-good, music-packed, modern fairy-tale update with bite, this one’s for you.
