Great book that makes you take a harder look at America as a whole and the adventures that are out there. One you should add to your list if you like to read of others adventures.

What a very cool road trip! Even if you don’t do this whole trip it’s got some amazing places to explore! The pictures are worth the book alone!

Unfortunately, the format sent to me to read the book in resulted in printing that was WAY too small to read. It’s a shame, because the book looked very interesting. I guess I will have to wait until it’s published to see what I missed!

I was so excited to see this book, as this is a trip we plan to do in the next few years.

Sadly, it was a big disappointment, being more of a story of cars and their drivers along the route, rather than the journey itself, things people need to know in order to plan a similar trip and tips and information for the trip.

Maybe a case of right book, wrong reader.

2 ⭐️ Thanks to Netgalley, the author and the publisher for an ARC in return for an honest review.

I love nothing if not a fun travel book centering a road trip! Cotter and his friend MAR who does the photography for this book decide to drive from Key West to Deadhorse. They do so with a Ford Bronco and an Airstream Basecamp, chatting with people along the way. The photography was beautiful and the sides stories about the small towns and interesting people they met along the way were interesting and I appreciated that they shared a photo of the people that they mention or quote.

As a backroad driving road trip enthusiast and a fellow car lover, I was immediately intrigued by this book. What I didn’t anticipate was the heartwarming humanity of it! The author and photographer embody society in a way that many people forget exists. Hardworking, wholesome, interesting people are all around us. But so often society forgets to take the road less traveled. I thoroughly enjoyed this book and look forward to exploring some of the places highlighted.

Thank you NetGalley, Quarto Publishing Group - Motorbooks, and author Tom Cotter for the ARC in exchange for my honest review.

What a fun and eclectic book. A travel journal complete with color photos. Starting in Key West, Florida traveling diagonally across the USA into Canada and continuing on the to the end of the road in Deadhorse, Alaska. Along the over 9000 mile journey they visit small towns, kitsch sites like the largest ball of twine and any museum or event that may include vintage cars. The photos can be scenic or show random people they meet along the way. I thought this was a fun read although I may never do this type of adventure.

What an amazing ride! There is so much history, humor, and fascinating details that are thrown into this book, all of which truly highlights what makes each place so special and worth visiting. The photographs perfectly complement the stories and make you feel like you were along for the ride. So many interesting places have been added to my road trip list because of this book. There is more of an emphasis on vintage cars but that doesn’t mean those who don’t appreciate them won’t get anything out of this book. There’s plenty of other stuff to keep just about anyone entertained.
