Ahhh. This is going to be a tough one for me to review, so I'll do it in two parts. I'm going to review the story itself, then the audiobook, as I have very different feelings for each of them.
As far as the story goes--Very very cute. I appreciated that it had romance without being overly smutty. Kristen Bailey really had the perfect amount of steam so that i could listen to the audiobook without being uncomfortable, lol.
It reminded me of a reverse Practice Makes Perfect by Sarah Adams, yet I gave that book a one star. I absolutely could not stand any of the characters in that book, specifically our MC. That one made her virginity her entire personality, while Sex Ed used virginity as a plot point, but Eddie had depth beyond that. Overall very cute, and I'd recommend it to fans of Sarah Adams.
I received the audiobook from Netgalley, so I do need to review it as well. This book DESPERATELY needed two narrators. There are no chapter titles (with the name of who is speaking) which was difficult enough, but honestly it wouldn't have helped, as they switched narrators midway. I love audiobooks, and it's not often that i feel like they have the potential to ruin a good book, but this is a case where i think the reviews will suffer when people begin listening to the audiobook after it's released. The narrator herself was fine, but it really needed a second person to read for Eddie.
Thank you so much to Netgalley and Storm Publishing for the early copy :)

This was so much fun!
The concept, execution and characters were all fabulous.
The banter, weird/awkward/realistic moments, and slight drama made this unputdownable.
I'm so excited that Bailey has a back catalogue for me to enjoy!
Much love to NetGalley, Dreamscape Media & Storm Publishing for my audio.

This was such a funny romance. I loved it! It was cute, funny and spicy. I would definitely recommend. Thanks NetGallery!

Thank you Kristen Bailey, Dreamscape Media, and NetGalley for this advanced listening copy in exchange for my honest review!
This was a cute friends to lovers RomCom. I will say it was a little more comedy than romance, but I didn’t entirely mind that. It was still an enjoyable read.
Book rating: 3.5 stars
Now for the audiobook. I don’t think this narrator was right for this specific audiobook. When it came to Mia’s voice for the narration, it sounded more like the voice of a teenager. That being said, it felt icky to listen to spicier scenes when the character’s voice sounded like a child. There were also times when I had a hard time telling the difference between the characters, because the voices sounded so similar.

2 stars

I listened to the audiobook and didn’t like the narrator at all. She made no effort to differentiate between character voices! The storyline was cute but some of the writing was odd.

I really enjoyed the story of 'Sex Ed'. I love the concept of two teachers and best friends, and one friend, Mia, realizes that her best friend, Ed, is a virgin at age 28. Mia and Ed have been friends for years, and they have worked together as teachers. Mia overshares everything about her life, but Ed is quiet and he keeps his dating life to himself. When Ed gets drunk one night, he tells Mia about his secret- he is a virgin and doesn't really have much experience with women at all.
Mia agrees to help Ed learn about sex and intimacy, so that he can use his new skills with another teacher, Caitlin, As they spend time together, Mia and Ed's feelings toward each other start to develop and grow into something behind friendship.
I really didn't like the character of Caitlin. She seemed problematic from the very beginning. I don't like that she tries to tell Ed that he can't be friends with Mia.
I didn't like the narration for this book. I had an ALC, and it was really difficult to follow the narration. This is a dual POV book, but there was only one narrator. The narrator didn't change her voice, and it was hard to differentiate between when it was an Ed chapter or a Mia chapter. I think it would be much more enjoyable with two narrators.
Overall, this was a fun story. It made me laugh out loud so many times!
Thanks to NetGalley and Dreamscape Media for an ALC of this book.

Overall, I really liked Sex Ed by Kristen Bailey. The title pun is perfection!! This opposites attract, male virgin, friends to lovers, spicy romcom was very enjoyable. I think it would've been much better to physically read than to listen to because while the book is dual POV, there's only one narrator who doesn't differentiate well between main characters (I think this is a great disservice to the listener!) You have to pay very careful attention to the chapter start to know whose perspective it is, because it isn't always obvious right off the bat.
I look forward to reading more from this author!
Thank you to Dreamscape Media, Storm Publishing and NetGalley for this ALC!

Sex Ed by Kristen Bailey is about Ed, a 28-year-old virgin who accidentally admits to his best friend Mia that of this fact. Mia, who is experienced and very sex positive, offers to give Ed his first sexual experience and teach him how to win the heart of his work crush.
This was my first Kristen Bailey book and I found the conversations between characters to be witty, charming, and funny. The situations they found themselves in were quite comical, if not entirely unbelievable, and Bailey did a great job with the characterizations for her two leads. The villain side characters could be a little bit of a caricature, but not too much so as to be distracting.
I personally could not see Ed and Mia as a couple and saw them better as friends. Something about their romantic relationship did not jive with me the same was their friendship did. I did like how supportive Mia was of Ed and nonjudgmental she was of his virginal status, and likewise for Ed in terms of Mia's sexual history as well as history in terms of long term relationships. Overall, they both gave each other what they needed for a healthy friendship, but the chemistry was not there for me as a romantic couple.
The sex scenes were hard to read. Most of the times they were downright clinical in terms of descriptions and often times rushed through. I could hardly get in the mood by the time the sexual encounter was over, if I had been able to at all based on the writing of the sex scenes. The lack of foreplay in most of the scenes is rather appalling if this is to be considered a romance. Virgin or not, Ed should understand that kissing and pawing is necessary. Instead for his first time he assesses her vulva like it's a cut of meat at the deli he is considering purchasing, and she rubs herself while he struggles to put on a condom. The sex in this book is seriously some of the worst I have ever read, I'm hoping her next novel has an editor to set her up for success in that department.
The narration was good, if a bit slow; I played the novel at 2x speed. She had a pleasant voice, but didn't change her voice much at all between characters. I had to pay keen attention at chapter beginnings to figure out whose POV I was in as she didn't change her voice at all between parts. I would listen to another book voiced by this narrator.

Mia’s love life might be chaotic but she’s totally devoted to her super-tidy, cat-owning, geeky but not bad-looking best friend. So, when Mia discovers Ed is still a virgin at twenty-eight, she decides to take matters into her own hands and teach him the skills he needs to seduce the pretty new maths teacher, Caitlin.
Absolutely delightful. Sex Ed (could the titles be a more perfect pun?!) is in turns sweet, sexy, and hilarious- and often all at once. If you’re listening to this out in public as I was, be prepared for sudden bursts of snort-laughs, swooning, or blushing- and then laughing again. I will definitely be listening to this one again.
The audiobook was perfectly narrated by Harrie Dobby.
Thank you Kristen Bailey, Dreamscape Media, and NetGalley for providing this ALC for review consideration. All opinions expressed are my own.

Ed is shy, quiet, neat, tidy, studious. Mia is the complete opposite- messy, loud, outgoing, overshares, etc.. When Mia finds out her best friend, Ed, is still a virgin at twenty-eight, she offers to tutor him. Ed is a nerdy biology teacher and he takes notes during Mia's lessons. When a new teacher starts at their school, Ed thinks she is perfect. He decides to use his new found, and still shaky, confidence out and go after her. But Mia isn't so sure she is perfect. Is she... jealous?
This had me laughing aloud. The relationship between Ed and Mia was very sweet. I am such an Ed, so I totally related with this book. (People like Mia cause me a lot of second hand embarrassment just by being them, lol)
I did not care for the whole 'other woman' aspect, but I understand it's purpose.
Harrie Dobby narrates the audiobook. She did a great job.
I received an audio copy in exchange for an honest review.

Ed is somehow still a virgin and ever since he started teaching at the same school with Mia, he has thought her was cute and they have been good friends. Mia agrees to help him learn the skills needed to seduce Caitlin, the new teacher. Mia realizes that she likes Ed and doesn't want him to be with Caitlin.
This was a quick, funny listen. The beginning was confusing with multiple different stories going on, but Ed just seems like such a good guy who is normally the underdog. It was a good story.

Quick Summary: A laugh, a snog, and a shag romance
My Review: Sex Ed by Kristen Bailey is the book that everyone should be reading this summer. It is hands down one of the funniest, sweetest, and most charming books I have come across this season.
About the Book: What do you get when you partner someone with a V-card and someone who is thoroughly modern when it comes to relations with the opposite sex?
A Few Words: From the start, Ed's story will suck you right in. He's like a super underdog that you find yourself cheering for from jump. When Mia is added into the mix, all forms of hilarity take place.
While there are other colorful characters mentioned in the story, who most assuredly keep things interesting, Ed and Mia are insanely good together. I loved how despite them each having their own individual challenges, they showed support for each other in their own special way.
My Final Say: This was a wonderful story that deserves top honors for its unique brand of humor and playful performances. It will have you in stiches. I cannot even!
Other: If all of Kristen Bailey's books are like this one, I think I may just have a new favorite author to add to my list. Salute!
