This one has wildly dramatic. I couldn't get enough. This book was really dark also more so than this author’s other books. I loved the back and forth with the different POV's from the sisters.
Please be aware of all the triggers in this one, because I wasn't aware of any of them. Also keep in mind this isn't necessarily a thriller, so don't have that mindset going in.

Thank you to Netgalley and the Publishing Company for providing me this Digital Advanced Readers Copy of the book!

Oh my goodness!!!! This book had me in my toes, I definitely enjoyed it, I could not put it down, the chapters were so good and short, it was very easy to follow. I liked how the author just kept on going with many different stories on how the characters were going through. This book definitely made for psychological thriller readers, I definitely recommend it!!!

I am not always a fan of slow burn mysteries, but Sally Hepworth is pretty good at balancing that with compelling characters.
Jessica, Norah and Alecia all end up as foster children together with a foster mom that is less than ideal. She looks the part on the outside but is abusive to the girls. These three, a mystery person, and a psychologist tell the story in the present, where a body has been found at their home, and the past, where the girls met.
I liked that each of the three girls have such distinct personalities. It made the unraveling of their lives and secrets much more fascinating. Not all are likable but they had something about them that I wanted to know more. They are strong and battling their past.
Jessica Clarke did a good job of balancing the seriousness of the plot with the compelling characters. She expertly brought all the voices to life.

This was a quick, page turning read. Although I will say this is not my favorite Hepworth book. Her most recent books seem more forced and less natural, though still good, worthwhile reads.

I really enjoy reading Sally Hepworth. This one kept me turning pages and kept me guessing. The relationship between the girls and the stories of how they lived their lives was told well. I’ll read anything Hepworth writes.

I received a complimentary copy of this book. All opinions expressed in this review are completely my own.
This can be a difficult read. The story is about how a specific foster parent treated the children in her care for years. That being said, I loved how the story focused on the three older foster children, and how even years later, they considered themselves sisters. The way the story unfolded, and how everything was revealed was great. I found myself gasping with each reveal. When I thought I had it figured out, something else would be revealed that had me questioning myself.
I definitely recommend this novel.

After reading many great books by Ms. Hepworth, I was very excited to start this one and it didn't disappoint. After a bit of a slow start, the plot really thickened as they say and I didn't want to put it down. The book revolves around three women who grew up in foster care and alternates between their time with Miss Fairchild and the current time period. Add in a dead body or two and you have an interesting little mystery. I highly recommend ALL of this author's books.

I just could not get into this book like I wanted. Maybe it was the timing or maybe it was the fact that I didn't like any of the characters. I could pick it up again one day and really love it but until then...

Sally Hepworth knows how to keep a story line moving and keep you on the edge of your seat. I enjoyed reading this story from multiple perspectives and had a hard time putting it down, wanting to know how it was going to wrap up in the end.

Darling Girls presents an intriguing premise centered around the complexities of family dynamics and secrets. Sally Hepworth's writing is engaging, and she skillfully builds suspense throughout the narrative, which kept me hooked with twists that challenge perceptions of truth and loyalty.

Darling Girls is another great read from Sally Hepworth. While it is not my favorite read of hers, it still was highly entertaining and had me flipping pages to see where the story was going. I didn’t necessarily feel that strongly about any of the characters but I was invested in the story. The twist at the end was one I didn’t fully see coming which was great.
Thank you to St. Martin’s Press and Netgalley for the eARC and the opportunity to read this in exchange for my honest opinion.

This book was my first 5 star book of 2024. As usual Sally Hepworth crushes the game. A story of sisters, secrets and murder it blew my mind.

Another twisty tale from Sally Hepworth! I couldn’t help but root for the girls and get invested in their stories.

Loved the multi timeline / POV. Twisted sisters is my new fave trope. Definitely a slow burn but worth the read just for the ending. Four stars! 🌟

Sally has become an auto-buy author for me! Her books are page turners filled with twists and turns that keep me guessing up until the end. She paints incredible characters that even when they’re terrible I still want to know more about them. Darling Girls was another home run for me. I stayed up to finish it because I had to know how it ended. Can’t wait for her next one!

Thank you NetGalley and St. Martin's Press for a free digital copy of Darling Girls by Sally Hepworth.
Although this was not my favorite Sally Hepworth book, I still found it very intriguing. It drew me in, and I was emotionally attached to the main characters Jessica, Norah, and Alicia, who were foster children. They formed an unbreakable bond in foster care as they tried to deal with the abusive and manipulative behavior of their foster mother, Holly Fairchild. I was immediately drawn into the story when Jessica, Norah, and Alicia received a call from law enforcement informing them that bones were found buried beneath the remnants of their childhood home. I did think this novel moved a little slow but the last 5o pages were great and things really sped up. I did enjoy this book and of course, Sally Hepworth's writing is phenomenal.

While it moved slightly slowly, it was an excellent read. Hepworth's style of chapters alternating between characters and periods always makes for an exciting read because you never know what the next chapter will reveal. And even with the piece-by-piece chapters, everything always finishes in a neat package with a clear ending.

Sally Hepworth is one of faves and this did not disappoint. I loved the dual timelines and trying to figure out how they were connected. I also liked all of the sisters and their stories. I was cheering for them to make it! Hepworth is still one of my must read authors!

This one was a tough read for me because I struggle reading about children being helpless and abused. That being said, this was a compelling book that took a bunch of turns. I loved the dynamic between the sisters. I also liked the dual timeline of the story - flipping between current day and their childhood. I thought I had it figured out but I did not... I love when that happens!
