Okay book that took me way longer than it should have to get into the story. I finished the book but it was slow.

A rollercoaster ride of suspense and intrigue. This thriller will keep you guessing until the final twist. A very good read for anyone that enjoys this genre!!!

To be honest, I struggled with this one. I found it to be unrealistic. Sometimes I felt like I was reading a YA novel.

I really enjoyed this book. The book immediately drew me in.

There was a killer twist at the end which completely shocked me.
My only complaint with this book is I felt it was too short! There were times when I felt that it was a little rushed.
This book is very much in the same genre as Sweet Pea, How to Kill Your Family and the like and would be perfect for any readers who are fans of that genre!

I should never have gone to her house. But I was desperate to ask her some questions about that night. About what she saw when Joe fell from the bridge.

All I wanted was some honesty, for someone else to have seen what I saw.

I never meant to hurt her. To push her.

As she lay at the bottom of the stairs, blood pooling around her head, I knew it was the end for me too.

I kept expecting the knock on the door, the police, the handcuffs. But it never came.

On the news, they are reporting someone has come forward and confessed to her murder.

But that can't be true. Because her killer is me...

First person POV, thrilling at first. I liked the writing and the characters. Some parts of the book felt a little too unbelievable. I don't like that, I want it to feel like it can happen to me! But otherwise, it was thrilling!

I persevered with this book but I didn’t really enjoy it. The characters were awful and I found it predictable. The lack of character names meant the last chapter was very confusing.

While I enjoyed reading this book, the almost continuous murders started to loose their shock value after the first 2. I found myself thinking "that wouldn't really happen" or "why didn't Elizabeth just..." often.

I did pedict most of the plot twists and who was covering for Elizabeth but it was still interesting to see it all unfold.

Everytime Elizabeth remembered something about her childhood, I found it quite emotional because of the obvious abuse she suffered.

The characters were interesting. I would've liked another POV or two though, just to mix things up a bit.

The pacing was fast and I actually liked the ending. Certain characters got what they deserved and it was satisfying to read.

The beginning left me feeling helpless and shaken. I love when books start like this. Around page 49, after the thing with Janet happened, I almost got a little bored of just reading one POV. I really wish that more POVs (Callum, Liev, and the mom’s) were included, especially in these early pages and the chapters also felt very long. By page 60 I still wasn’t too interested in the main character, I didn’t feel a pull to keep reading. Multiple POVs may have changed that, maybe even going back and forth on a timeline? Who knows. I appreciated the dry humor in the book and this line made me laugh out loud, “whilst I’m sad to miss out on the job, I’m happy that I’m continuing to (spoiler)” on page 65. The pace of the writing was excellent, especially as the story got past page 100 or so. I also enjoyed the way the author wrote about grief, which is such a hard topic to capture correctly. Overall, I enjoyed this book very much.

Ahh, dear. I'm kicking myself as I usually manage to keep my eyes on the archive date and download before they occur, but I somehow managed to miss this one. I have just purchased it as I still want to read it as much as ever, My apologies for missing the archive date.

Left feeling fairly underwhelmed from this book some actions by Elizabeth were very unrealistic i and yet allowed so as to move the plot along.

Elizabeth is celebrating her brother Joe’s eighteenth birthday and unfortunately he falls from a bridge and dies .
Elizabeth doesn’t believe he fell and sets out to get to the bottom of what happened and doesn’t mind who dies or gets hurt along the way.
I didn’t like Elizabeth’s character and I found the writing a little lack lustre and it seemed to run out of steam half way through the story .
Although I am glad I persevered and finished the book and I loved the twist at the end.

Certainly a very different read.

Elizabeth has come home to celebrate her younger brother's eighteenth birthday; they are out in the open, drinking too much, when Joe climbs a bridge and plunges from the top. Did he fall? Or was he pushed? That's what his sister wants to find out, whatever it takes.

I struggled with this one and briefly considered setting it aside, unfinished - but I don't give up easily and, after a break, returned to read to the end. Written in the first person - not my favourite - I had to suspend belief as Elizabeth worked her way through a list of suspects. An okay read, but I wouldn't be honest if I didn't say that I reached the end with a sigh of relief - and that's not a feeling I get often. I'm sure others will rave about this one, it just wasn't for me. 3.5*

Oh I love this one. It is so murdery in a weird way!
Our girl's baby brother has died in a terribly sad way and she has decided to confront his bullies/murderers/and the town internet jerk (oh I LOVED that one).
She is not making good choices but luck seems to be on her side. I feel for our murderer because I too love my brother who was not treated well by the world.
Actually this book made me appreciate my brother more.

And I was laughing really hard at a lot of this. Making me laugh in a murdery book is a talent and more people need to develop the skill.
And the ending is gold!

Although this book has a very good start. With the opening chapter that will grab your attention This book is a bit of a disappointment. I didn't gel with the characters. I didn't like the way that the book flowed. I felt it was a little stilted. It also didn't grab my attention. Sorry

After the death of Elizabeth's younger brother Joe, she becomes consumed with finding out exactly how his death took place, and who might be responsible for playing a part in it. The official stance is that Joe fell, but Ellie is determined to find out if somebody may have pushed him, either physically or emotionally, over the brink.

This quest actually ends up pushing Ellie herself over the edge. Her insistence in seeking out a version of the truth that she can live with leads her into some very bad decisions. Despite what we find out about her own behaviour, she turns out to be a surprisingly likeable character - if not always a relatable one in terms of her quirks.

But despite the fact that Ellie steps over the line on a number of occasions, she never seems to have to face the consequences for it. Why is that? The premise here is an intriguing one, and the story partially delivered on that.

For me, this read more like a young adult novel when I was expecting an adult thriller, and some of the twists were not entirely unpredictable. But to be fair, there were quite a lot of twists and turns along the way. So, overall, it was an enjoyable ride

This book had a strong start. The opening chapter really caught my attention however I found this book quite disappointing. I live in the North East so know some of these areas well however I found I couldn’t gel with this book. I found the plot stalled somewhat and I was rapidly losing interest in the book fairly early on. I did finish it but can’t say it held my attention. It also mentions a local prison that is a category C prison and would be highly unlikely to house the character as described in the book. Sorry but this book wasn’t for me. A very strange book that I struggled with. Elizabeth's brother Joe dies falling from a bridge. She is convinced he has been pushed by her other brother Callum. In an attempt to prove this she ends up murdering an innocent woman and anyone else she feels may have been involved in anyway. Finishes with a clever twist but I cheated to get there. Not one for me I'm afraid.
