A short, quick, delightful read. The story feels a bit rushed - and unlikely - but who’s to say that Christmas wishes don’t come true?
I liked this, and look forward to reading more about these characters, and the beautiful Scottish Highlands.

A quick but heartfelt light read for the Christmas season! The story, because it was so short, felt disjointed at points in time, but was overall a quaint little novella to curl up next to a fire with.
Thanks to the NetGalley + publishing teams for the ARC.

This was absolutely awful. Unbelievable and ridiculous at times. For Melissa to just pack up and move overseas and let herself into a house she only received a letter about I just couldn’t get over.

This story is full of all the warm and fuzzies. From a family essentially adopting our beleaguered FMC, Melissa, when her dreams are shattered, to a cold divorce lawyer falling for her, this novella has it all! I loved all the small town vibes of Inverness, and the many Christmas festivities and celebrations that have been squeezed into the tale.

Thank you for giving me an opportunity to read this cute story. Having travelled to Inverness when my daughter was obsessed with the “water dragon” I felt like I was right back there experiencing the winter/Christmas festivities with Colin, Lindsay, and Melissa. Their story is cute, comforting and reading it unfold is heartfelt. I enjoyed the characters, the naïvety of Melissa and how much Lindsay loves Christmas, we can all connect the relatable characters with people from our own life. A wonderful, quick read that’s perfect for a cozy night on the couch in the dazzle of Christmas tree lights. Looking forward to the sequel.

This was such a short and cozy read. I really enjoyed reading this on this beautiful winter day. Big thanks to netgalley for giving me this arc in exchange for an honest review. I literally read this so quickly.

I received a copy of this via NetGalley.
Oh my. Unfortunately, the only thing I enjoyed about this book was Scotland. There was too much telling and not enough showing, feeling. I didn't buy into the dialogue at all. Very static. There was no indication as to how these statements were spoken.
"The driver began driving," was a full sentence, and most of the book read like this. Melissa is used 471 times in the 128 page ebook. Too many Melissas.
Somehow the two MCs end up together even though there was very little interaction and even less dialogue.
Melissa. My girl. So many poor, not at all thought through decisions, made in a VERY short amount of time.

Cute quick holiday read! I found the main character hard to connect with, and the story line is a classic hallmark movie but still fun to get into the holiday spirit.

This was a fun starting over holiday romance that sees Melissa, an American woman recently separated and going through a divorce travelling to the Scottish Highlands when she gets a call about inheriting a house there. Full of a cast of heartwarming secondary characters and a charming lawyer, Colin who turns out to be one of her ex's divorce lawyers. I really enjoyed all the Scottish holiday traditions and the touch of magic. A sweet, feel-good holiday novella and I look forward to reading more about Melissa and Colin in the next book. Many thanks to NetGalley and the author for an early digital copy in exchange for my honest review!

🏠OVERVIEW:
“Christmas wishes do come true.
Melissa MacKenzie is an American interior designer with a seemingly happy life — until her husband Dave reveals he's been cheating on her and wants a divorce and the house. But when a letter informs her that she will inherit a home in Scotland, things start looking up. At the airport she inadvertently meets Colin MacGregor, a charming Scottish-American lawyer who happens to be her husband's divorce lawyer. She's taken by his sexy Scottish accent and charm and, as fate would have it, he's on Melissa's flight to Edinburgh ... and on her train to Inverness, and happens to live in the same town where she's inherited her home.
As sparks fly between Melissa and Colin, he agrees to help her secure the Scottish home that she believes she's entitled to. They dive right into Scottish culture — and each other's arms — as love and a new home seem within reach. Will they be able to succeed in both missions? Or will everything fall apart?
Highlands Christmas is a delightful sweet Christmas romance that will set hearts afire. In a fairy tale as captivating as the Loch Ness monster, Melissa and Colin must cross an ocean to end up right where they belong... because home is where the heart is.”
🌲MY THOUGHTS🌲
Thank you so much to @amyquickparrishwrites and @netgalley for proving an Ebook in exchange for an honest review.
This was a short and sweet Christmas novella. I enjoyed the thought behind the story. The Scottish heritage was fun to learn about along with the FMC Melissa. While the idea for this Christmas novella was cute, I found myself bored waiting for the story to build. This was not my cup of tea, but still a cute Christmas story.

I didn’t realize this was a novella but I enjoyed reading it. I was hesitant at first but once the story picked up I couldn’t put it down. The characters were lovable and the plot, although short was a sweet, holiday story. I would have loved to read this as a full novel and I’m looking forward to the sequel. I read this during my kids’ nap time. If you’re strapped for time, but want a holiday romance, this title will give you the fix you’re looking for.
Thank you to Net Galley and the publisher for the eARC.

Thank you Netgalley for the ARC. I loved this holiday novel. Melissa's life was going great until she finds out her husband cheats. He wants a divorce and the house! Melissa has no idea what she's going to do until she finds out that she has inherited a house in Scotland. Where she bumps into her husbands divorce attorney and sparks fly.

This was a sweet romance, Taking place across continents. The storyline is full of irony and is quite intriguing but the character development was a little lacking in my opinion. It was written distinctly in the third person. I say that because it's really the difference between knowing the characters' thoughts and guessing the characters' thoughts. For some, that isn't as important but it was the difference between 3 and 4 stars for me!

Before I begin, I'd like to thank NetGalley and Amy Quick Parrish for the Advanced Reader's Copy of Highlands Christmas- Wishes Come True.
Blindsided by a divorce request, Melissa MacKenzie's world has suddenly fallen apart. But a letter in the mail promises to change that all. Scotland's landscape promises her an opportunity, but a handsome divorce attorney follows on the heel. Can all turn out to be well?
A cute, short, sweet Christmas Novella; if a Scottish landscape, a wishing well, and a handsome Scot are what you are into, you will like this book. A surprising amount of detail on small things provides a sense of grounding. A much-needed clean romance.
Book Vibe: Hallmark Picture vibes. Christmas Miracle. An insane stroke of luck. Romantic escape. Scottish winter wonderland. Clean Romance. Holiday vibes.
Perfect for readers who like their books on the short side.

This is probably a good read for people wanting a quick, starting-over story with some romance. This wasn't the holiday tale for me though. The writing needed polishing. So many short sentences and so much passive voice. I also found the Scotishness of it all was heavyhanded. It was cozy though.

Highlands Christmas is a cute, sweet romance book set in Scotland. I read this book with thoughts of a Scottish accent in my head! Great novella to get you in the holiday spirit.

CAWPILE score of 8.57
It is set in Scotland, in a small town that really, really gets into the Christmas spirit, where the MC is ready to start a new life.
It's a cosy short book, filled with Christmas joy and the spark of romance, that feels like a Hallmark movie.
I hoped we'll get to know more about the characters and about the town too. Some scenes felt a bit rushed. All in all, I liked the book and read it in one sitting, but I wanted a bit more

Cute, fun and fast holiday read! A little predictable but it was the perfect escape from a busy and hectic time of year. I'm always up for a romance set in Scotland!

this was a super quick holiday novella. I have never read anything by this author and it was good, didn't overly love it but also didn't dislike it. I like a lot of emotion and being able to feel the love between the two main characters, but this just didn't do it for me. I think that there is a lot of opportunity for growth!

With the shock of husband Dave’s divorce demand made hot on the heels of a Christmas party, Melissa finds herself intrigued when a letter arrives informing her of an unexpected inheritance abroad.
Seizing the opportunity to flee America and a squirrel infestation, Melissa makes her way to Scotland to claim her new abode and a new life. With an airport meetcute, the heroine is soon head over heels with her new home and friends. But with treachery afoot, will she get to keep it?
Short enough to read over a glass of eggnog, this cozy novella glosses over the realities of such situations but will leave you feeling as warm and fuzzy as a Christmas jumper.
I received this book free from NetGalley in exchange for an honest review & the opinions are my own. #HighlandsChristmas #NetGalley
