I absolutley adored this Sweet Little Christmas read! I love Cozy Christmas themed Reads, especially around the Holidays. The Characters were fantastic and very relatable. I would reccomend this book to anyone who wants a great Holiday read while cozied up by the fire.

I feel terrible, I really wanted to like this story as I'm sure the author worked really hard on it. She had a good idea going, but it came across as incomplete, like there were several pieces missing. I would have loved to see the book a bit more detailed out because it is still a fun story.

In 'Highlands Christmas,' author Amy Quick Parrish, unwraps a delightful Christmas novella that sparkles with charm and festive enchantment. Set in Scotland, the story follows the journey of Melissa MacKenzie an American iInterior designer and and Colin, a Scottish-American lawyer. With its cozy atmosphere, heartwarming characters, and a sprinkle of Christmas magic, this cute short novel is a fun treat to warm the hearts of readers during the festive season.

Thank you to Netgalley and the publisher/author for allowing me an ARC in exchange for an honest review.
This is only my second romance novel ever and I really enjoyed it! I'm rating 3 stars because although it is a novella, I feel like it ended pretty abruptly and wish we could have had a little more story to wrap it up. Overall I thought it was a cute story and perfect for a cold, winter day! I will be checking out more in this genre and from this author in the future!

Thank you to NetGalley, Flying Cactus Publishing , and Amy Quick Parrish for the ARC to review. This was a great Christmas quick read. I love stories set in Scotland. Looking forward to the sequel!!

Happy to say I read this on the way to actual Scotland and it was PERFECTION. Have already bought myself and my bookclub buds each a copy!

This book is really a novella--it was a quickee read and I wish it could have been longer. I think there was a lot that was improbable (the banker ripping up the eviction for example), but the story and the all the characters (except for Dave, Melissa's husband) are delightful. Sooooooo the story may be improbably, somewhat silly, too good to be true, but I don't care, it was a fun story. And BONUS--there is a puppy and NOTHING happens to him! An easy read with no redeeming social value, and it doesn't matter--it's fun!

I loved this book! I devoured it in only a few sittings and wish there was more to read. The story line was paced very well and the characters were easy to love!

Thank you NetGalley and the publisher for an e-ARC of this book in return for an honest review.
This is a very short story about a woman down on her luck who receives a letter stating she inherited a house in Scotland. She decides to move to Scotland and live in the house but all is not what it seems.
This story is fast paced but not in a good way. You learn about an event and boom the event was happening. The story didn’t really have believability in it because some of things just happened like magic. If you need a quick story for the holiday, you could read it but it is a little disappointing. I feel if the author took the time, it could have been a great story.

I read this in almost one sitting. Such a sweet holiday escape! I grew up in Scotland and the details in this are superb - took me right back. Looking forward to reading the next in the series!

I did not love this novella. It was brief in all details, and I didn’t believe the connection between the main characters. I did love the holiday vibes it had.

Finished reading Highlands Christmas - Wishes Come True by Amy Quick Parrish.
This was such a quick and easy read, I finished it in one day.
A simple story about a woman who finds herself in an unexpected turn of her life and quickly moves forward to revamp her life instead of feeling sorry for herself.
The story ended abruptly but is being followed by a sequel soon so that explains it.

In the span of a few short days, Melissa finds out that her husband has been cheating and wants a divorce, and that she's inherited a home in Scotland from an unknown distant relative. She's a free woman without a home due to her divorce news, so why not get on a plane to head out to Scotland and get her new life started? She serendipitously meets her soon to be ex-husband's cut-throat divorce lawyer hilariously while they're both in line at the airport and the rest is history...
This was cute and likeable, if not a bit predictable. This isn't my genre at all but given it's the Christmas season and the cover caught my eye, I gave it a shot! I really liked Melissa and found her endearing and sweet. Her naivete was believable and her bravery admirable and it was nice to see her be a good mix of both. Her experiences while in Scotland were close to too unbelievable to be true but somehow it worked. I actually wished it wasn't so short as I was interested in where this was heading so it was nice to see a sequel is on the horizon in 2024. I look forward to following Melissa's cute new adventure!
Thank you to Netgalley and the publisher for the opportunity to read this book in exchange for my honest review.

This was a super cute, cozy, Christmas novella. The main protagonist, Melissa, finds out on Thanksgiving that her husband wants a divorce. Luckily, the next day she receives a letter that she has inherited a cottage in Scotland. She immediately packs her things and moves across the pond to start a new life. One her way there, she happens to meet Colin, her husbands divorce lawyer. Once in her new town, she continues to run into Colin as she makes a new life for herself.
This was a nice read with lots of cozy “winter in Scotland” vibes. There are some plot points where you have to suspend belief but it reminds me a lot of all the hallmark Christmas movies. Overall, I really enjoyed this!
I received a copy from Netgalley.

Short but sweet- Melissa and Colin's story can easily be read in a single afternoon and you'll be quite content to read it in a single afternoon.
Melissa's life is falling apart when her beloved husband announces over Thanksgiving he is leaving her for another woman. Things begin to look up when she mysteriously inherits a house in Scotland and she seizes the day and prepares immediately to fly abroad. A charming meeting with a handsome man quickly turns sideways as she discovers the man who she is lining up with has been hired by her ex to facilitate their divorce. Can romance bloom in such a difficult time? Read on to find out.

Eh. This book has a lot of things I felt to be an issue. The entire story doesn't feel right. I could not, in good conscience, recommend This book to a friend. I'm sorry

An unexpected gift of a house in Scotland - check. An unexpected kinship with the neighbors - check. Christmas - check. Romance - check. I enjoyed every bit of this novella!

This barely counts as a book - cute story but there's no context or character development. Completely unbelievable.

This was a cute winter book. Perfect for the holidays this season. Cozy and funny.
Thank you to NetGalley for an advanced copy.

Thank you to NetGalley for the opportunity to read this book.
Highlands Christmas is a cozy, fast holiday novella. While I enjoyed learning about the food and customs mentioned in the story, the writing felt flat to me. Even in a novella, depth and richness can be had but it didn’t work for me in this book. The encounters between Melissa and Colin were cute but I didn’t feel their chemistry. I was also incredibly frustrated by Melissa’s ignoring red flags and her naïveté.
