This book was easy to enjoy and read, however I will say I really felt the storyline was a bit rushed. It felt as though some of the characters didn’t have the depth they needed or that I like to see in Romance novels like this. I didn’t realize until I went in to look at reviewing that it is a novella hence the shortness of the story.
That said the story is a great read for a quick night by the fire when it is snowing! That’s one of the biggest positives! The story overall was VERY Hallmark vibe. Melissa, a soon to be divorced woman finds out her husband is cheating with her brothers ex. The kick in the teeth is he is keeping the house. Simultaneously she receives a letter, which turns out to be fake, that she has inherited a Scottish Cottage but has to make the trip to claim it in person. During this trip she heals from the divorce, falls in love with both the house & the town handy man/big city lawyer & makes a home for herself in this new city.
It’s absolutely the storylines made for Hallmark!
Thank you for sharing this story I did ENJOY IT! Huge thank you to Flying Cactus, Amy Parrish& NetGalley for this early reader copy!

Not a fan. Didn't love the writing style or the plot line honestly. Jumps in way to fast and can't say I fell in love with the characters. Tried to do a whole book in the space of a novella. It could have been done well but left a lot to be desired.

This book was so cute and the perfect book to get you started on the Christmas mood. It was a quick and easy read. The story was predictable, but so are Hallmark movies. My only complaint was that it was too short and I needed more.
Thank you to Netgalley, Amy Quick Parrish and Flying Catcus for this ARC. This review is 100% my own and honest opinion.

This book was cheesy in the very best way! Melissa MacKenzie unfortunately finds out that her husband has been having an affair and wants a divorce. She then receives a letter that she has inherited a home in Scotland, and of course she takes off right away to check it out. At the airport she just happens to run into her husband's very sexy lawyer (Colin) who also happens to be traveling to the same town in Scotland to visit his family. As sparks fly between Colin and Melissa, she learns more about Scottish Christmas traditions and also herself.
I thoroughly enjoyed the cozy Christmas vibe of this book! However I wasn't a huge fan of the very abrupt ending, but there is a sequel coming out on kindle on December 12th!!
Thank you NetGalley for letting me review this book! All opinions are my own.

My thanks to NetGalley, the publisher, and the author for letting me read and review an advanced copy of this novella.
Melissa Mackenzie got a double whammy at Thanksgiving; her husband wanted a divorce and she inherited a house in Scotland. She didn’t want to deal with her husband, so she booked a flight to Scotland to, hopefully, start a new life. When she, literally, bumps into her husband’s lawyer, Colin MacGregor, at the airport, she can’t escape fast enough. Well, he ends up on her flight, train, and city that she is going to, with him actually helping her a few times.
To quickly get to the Hallmark Christmas ending, things go well, at times, and a relationship blooms. With the Scottish setting at Christmastime, this story is a pleasant read and a nice seasonal tale.

Highlands Christmas: Wishes Come True by Amy Quick Parrish was a lighthearted romance taking place during the Christmas holiday in Scotland. The story was brief and full of unlikely coincidences, but was fun holiday fare. The Scottish setting and culture added a delightful touch. Admittedly, I don't usually read this genre, but I was looking for something to cleanse my reading palate after reading a few heavy dramas, and this fit the bill.
Thank you to the publisher, Flying Cactus and NetGalley for the digital ARC in exchange for my honest review.

Thank you to NetGally for letting me read this book. This book was super cute, even through there was no spice, for a novella it had an amazing plot, great understanding of characters.

Highlands Christmas by Amy Quick Parrish is a heartwarming holiday tale that unfolds as Melissa MacKenzie navigates life's unexpected twists. From a painful divorce revelation to an unforeseen Scottish inheritance, the story weaves a charming romance with Colin MacGregor against the picturesque backdrop of Scotland. The author's portrayal of love, cultural exploration, and the magic of Christmas creates a delightful read, proving that sometimes, the most enchanting journeys lead us right to where our hearts truly belong.

What a sweet little jaunt across the pond to join Melissa for a Highlands Christmas! This novella follows Melissa to the snowy hills of Scotland to embark on quite the holiday adventure after her life gets turned upside down. I was immediately immersed in the story! Fun, quick holiday read!

A fun and quick read filled with lots of Scottish culture and language. My Nan was from Scotland so it was nice to read a book filled with things she would say or foods she would cook. Because it was a novella it was quicker paced than other holiday books I’ve read and sometimes felt rushed but overall it was a fun read with some laughs along the way and cozy holiday vibes. I would love to visit Scotland and spend a Christmas looking for Nessie and watching some Highland Games for sure.
I received a copy of the ebook through Netgalley and the author in exchange for my honest review.

Highlands Christmas by Amy Quick Parrish ⭐️⭐️⭐️💫
If you are in need of a quick novella for the holiday season, look no further than Highlands Christmas. This book is like a warm hug and a hallmark movie set in Scotland. After a surprising divorce, Melissa discovers she’s inherited an estate in Scotland, so she packs up to start all over.
There is a lot crammed into this short Novella, including romance, the Highland Games, and of course Haggis. Great quick read for the holiday season!
Thanks to @netgalley for the opportunity to read this! Highlands Christmas is available now!

This is one of those warm cozy blanket books. Low stakes. Not a lot really happens. But you feel good reading it.
The writing style took a minute to get into, and I’m still not sure it’s a favorite style for me, but it made for easy reading.
Unfortunately, cozy reads aren’t really for me; I need something to keep it interesting, but I will say having just visited the Highlands, and Inverness, this book definitely brought me back there!
Thank you to Flying Cactus and @netgalley for providing me an eARC of this book in exchange for an honest review.

Cute Christmas novella that checks all the boxes. If anything, I wish there was more time in the book to dive into the plot line a little deeper, isn't that the whole point of a novella?! Thoroughly enjoyed.
Thanks NetGalley for this ARC, all opinions expressed are my own.

This was a quick read (it’s a novella) about Melissa being blindsided by her husband asking for a divorce. She learns she’s inherited a house in Scotland and sets off to see it, meeting Colin along the way (who also just so happens to be her husbands lawyer). It was cute enough, very easy to read, but left a lot to be desired by the length - a novella is challenging to write and get you connected and this fell in that category.

This was a super cute and easy to read novella. It was a great read to get me into the Christmas spirit. Not only an I am sucker for Christmas but I am also a sucker for Scotland. I read the entire novella in one sitting. It was light and easy. The only reason I only gave it 4 stars was because it was a novella, I was left wanting more. I will be reading the follow up to this one because I am interested in seeing how it goes. I am hoping the Colin realizes how awful Dave is and ends up not only representing Melissa but dating her also. It would be the perfect icing on the cake. I loved the little things that Melissa did, like letting the squirrels in the house. It was just a perfect little thing to do.

Fun Christmas romance. It could have been longer with more character development. But it is in Scotland so it was still fun.

Highlands Christmas is a quick winter novella that follows Melissa as she leaves home and her cheating husband to move to Scotland, where she has inherited a home. There she meets Colin, her husbands divorce lawyer.
Why was she so chill about dating her husbands divorce lawyer? I was expecting more conflict from that near the end but it didn’t come up. Also the house was such an obvious scam. No one even gave her a key to the house!! She just found it hidden by the door and moved herself in and started doing renovations??? That was insane behavior.
Even for it being a novella, it felt too rushed. I’m not opposed to reading the New Years novella that is coming next though.

Charming, sweet, and quick. This was the perfect read for a restful, snowy Sunday. The Scottish didn’t feel cheesy or forced and I appreciate that the lawyer didn’t solve all the problems for her.

This was a cute short romance. Melissa’s entire world shifts on Thanksgiving day when she finds out her husband is leaving her. She is determined to start over and what better place than in an inherited house in Scotland. On her journey there she meets a very nice Scottish man, Colin. He is very nice and friendly. When they end up going to the same town they keep running into each other as if fate had plans for them. I was given an ARC through NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.

Highlands Christmas is a quick holiday read, but it requires the reader to suspend belief. The plot involves an obvious scam, and the main character is just too naive to be believable. All of the characters feel one dimensional. Might be a good base here, but ultimately feels rushed. This one's just not my cup of cocoa.
