The cover and title of Mr. Patches is Bored grabbed this retired children’s librarians attention right away. I found this funny book about a stuck-at-home, discontented house cat to be delightful. Details in the colorful illustrations begged to be examined. The rhyming verse flowed so beautifully it seemed meant to be read out loud. As a retiree, I can relate to sometimes being really bored hanging around the house. Even though going out and having adventures is fun, coming home again is so comforting.
