This story had potential, it was enjoyable but not great. I really struggled with the first half of this book. I found that the characters lacked some depth and development. This that made the story not really believable. The second half of the book was a bit better. Overall the book lacked tension for me.

This is a perfect guilty pleasure holiday read. It has everything you want for an easy holiday murder/mystery. Stunning top of the range cruise ship, rich spoilt family of beautiful adult siblings that you love to hate and a whodunit moment on each of the 5 nights of the cruise. None of the characters are likeable, they are all very self centered and self important yet it kind of works in an old style Dynasty/new style Kardashian way.
Nothing life changing or out of this world but an easy holiday read and escape to see how the other half live. 3.5 stars rounded to 4 thanks for the copy of #FiveNights #NetGalley

I enjoyed the setting of this crime/thriller novel and the characters had interesting back stories. I did find the ending a little rushed and "neat" but the book was difficult to put down as there was always something going on and a new piece to the puzzle. Easy to read, and definitely entertaining, this would make a good holiday or beach read. Better still, read it on a cruise! Love the cover - it's very eye catching.

I received this arc from netgalley and Head of Zeus in exchange for my honest review.

Below deck mixed with real housewives turned who dun it. From scary notes and threats to multiple deaths and near misses, it’s a murder mystery on a cruise ship.
Between loving and hating the characters who were born into wealth and clearly show their discontent to “commoners” the character development is fantastic.
A rivalry between best friends who have you questioning their real intent, based on historical shared trauma.
I absolutely loved the trip 😅 this read took me on, and was left shocked time after time.
Such an easy read that I honestly couldn’t put down.
Buckle up your lifejackets and get reading!

A atmospheric and glamorous lifestyle is this book but who knows who will make it out alive. The characters are flashy but are not all friends.

This is built on the locked room murder mystery premise but with a big difference. The locus is a luxury private yacht and those on board are there by invitation. Of course all is not as it seems. There are past differences to reconcile and secrets to be kept. The cast of characters is small, but that makes it all the more interesting. I couldn’t work out where and how it was all going to end and was taken totally by surprise by the twists and turns on the way.

Can’t say I liked any of the characters but in this case it didn’t matter because I was swept along in the moment of life aboard a luxury yacht. What a different world! It’s all very plausible and I enjoyed this bit of escapist fiction. Well drawn characters with interesting backstories and this is a page turner that kept me hooked.

I liked the sound of this book, I love a good locked room thriller but sadly this left me disappointed.
I found the characters lacked depth and the main character Emily was shallow and unlikeable. The scarmardo family were clichéd spoilt rich types also with no depth of character.
I think for me this was too plot-led so if that's your bag you will love this. If you're looking for character development and emotional investment then it may leave you wanting more.

A luxury cruise ship travelling from the south of England to New York…what could go wrong?!!?

Five Nights is an addictive, popcorn thriller, full of wild twists and unlikeable characters. Estranged friends, Emily and Belle reunite on the cruise ship, owned by Belle’s new, uber rich husband. The whole Scarmando family are there, and the children and not keen on their new step mother. Emily answers Belle’s call for help and joins for on the ship. It is not long before things start to go wrong, people are injured and threatened. Is it the kids warning Belle off, or does someone know Emily’s deepest darkest secrets?

I was entertained throughout this book, even though I had guessed a few of the major plot twists. Always love a rich people behaving badly story, and a locked room mystery as well. It is a fun, quick read.

Thanks to Aria and Aries for my advanced copy of this book to read. Published on February 29th.

You are immersed in the world of the Scarmado family but if you are like me you will struggle to find a single likeable character. Whilst this works for some of the characters there should be someone you are rooting for, but there just isn't.

The book was enjoyable but not great. I appreciated the different setting and the twists and turns but very little of it was believable.

If you are after a nice easy read of a thriller/murder mystery then this might just fill that hole.

Five Nights is a gripping thriller that uncovers the dark secrets of a wealthy and powerful family during a five-night luxury cruise. The plot revolves around Emily, who is invited on a 5-night cruise with her newly married friend Belle, whom she hasn’t seen in years - it a really compelling read especially for fans of psychological thrillers.

I absolutely loved this book. In many books there are “goodies” and “baddies”. The reader sides with the “goodies” and enjoys whatever deservedly happens to the baddies! In this book you are strangely never quite sure if a character is a “goodie” or a “baddie”.

The main scenario is set on a upper elite luxury cruise ship. It sounds amazing! Can I go on a trip? The characters were all very interesting and intriguing! I enjoyed how the plot evolved to give you greater insight to their personalities. This insight showed us that human frailties apply to rich and poor. Everyone makes mistakes in their lives. The important lesson is how we take our lives forward by learning!

The plot was superbly well structured. Very tidily brought together with a first class and satisfactory ending.

I must say I am looking forward to the film! Surely a Hollywood blockbuster.

I believe the author Rachel Wolf is very talented. I look forward to reading more of her creations.

This story had potential. I believe this is a debut so I'm intrigued to see whats next from the author.
In a way I was gripped throughout. Wanting to know what was going on. But I wasn't wowed. I found the connection between Emily and Belle wasn't strong enough for me to believe they were ever really close.
Even parts of the past weren't the most interesting or that plausible for the overall story. But still enjoyable.

I thoroughly enjoyed this exciting romp of a book. The Scarmado family are straight out of the cast from TV’s ‘Succession’; A group of rich, spoilt people, all trying to outdo the other. But, there is an undercurrent of tension and hatred as the siblings see the potential of them losing their inheritance due to Dad’s new, young, glamorous wife, Belle.

The setting is an immense, opulent, cruise ship onto which Belle has invited her childhood friend, Emily. But the two friends haven’t met for years and the reason for this simmers in the background as accidents begin to happen and people get hurt. Secrets are revealed and in a very clear, twisty, way.

I read in one sitting. A cracking, escapist tale and well told.

Thanks to NetGalley and Aria and Aries publishers for the opportunity to preview.

"Five Nights" by Rachel Wolf is an exciting suspense and mystery journey. It's a glamorous psychological thriller set on the Scarmado family's opulent ship for five nights.

Wolf brilliantly builds a story that keeps readers on edge from the first night's beautiful setting to the last night's life-and-death fight. The fabulously untrustworthy individuals complicate the story. Each night comes more secrets, threats, and a devastating death, as the clock builds tension.

Wolf's tale is a mix of Agatha Christie and Succession, with a strong family's vicious dynamics. A claustrophobic and engrossing thriller about treachery, secrets, and past mistakes set in the dangerous glamour of the high seas.

Authors like Erin Kelly and Jo Furniss deserve prior appreciation. The book's suspense, surprises, and looming disaster keep readers hooked. As the narrative develops, you'll be left wondering each character's intentions and anxiously turning the pages to find out.

Wolf brilliantly blends mystery with suspense, producing a story that keeps readers wondering until the conclusion. Fans of riveting, atmospheric psychological thrillers will love "Five Nights" for its glamour, suspense, and surprising turns. This tale takes you on a dangerous adventure that will leave you breathless and delighted.

A riveting and frightening read. Set on a glamorous new ship a five night voyage, two friends who haven't seen each other for years, one newly married to Mattia Scarmado whose children don't approve and the other who was he best friend and not met Mattia before.
A trip that starts as a celebration on a luxury ship and ends in murder. This book has everything, it is intense, thrilling and ultimately hard to put down.

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Five Nights by Rachel Wolf was an intense, deadly addictive, glamourous, thrilling, claustrophobic, and unpredictable psychological thriller! I chose this book because of the cover! Standing, glorious, glamorous, and inviting cover! And I wasn't disappointed.
There is everything - secrets, past twisted with present, people who pretend and hate each other. This thriller is raped in luxury and suspenseful action! I loved it!

One of the richest and most powerful families has a luxury cruise opening. The cruise ship "Belle" is named after Mattia's wife Belle. Mattia, much older than Belle, invited all his children and carefully selected guests to this cruise but he didn't realize things would go terribly wrong.
Belle's long-lost best friend Emily is the only outsider there and everyone has the question "Why she is here?"Nearly everyone has a secret to save and new secrets appear so things get so confusing. "What the hell is going on and who is behind this mess?" This is the question that everyone is asking! Don't trust anyone this is what everyone learns in the middle of the ocean where the nearest help is days away...

Thank you so much NetGalley and Aria & Aries for this glamorous and chilling journey!

This feels like it’s part closed-circle mystery on a luxury cruise liner and part family drama, and it’s not without its issues. The writing, especially in the beginning felt very clunky, the plot relied on coincidences and a massive amount of suspension of disbelief, and the friendship between Emily and Belle never really made sense. There was also interludes from a second pov whose voice was basically indistinguishable from the main POV.

Despite all of that I actually had a really good time reading it. The mystery was engaging and the Scarmardo family were so interesting. In the beginning they were just rich enough and just awful enough that they reminded me of the family from Netflix’s The Fall of the House of Usher. As the story went on many of the children actually became very likeable, and they were certainly entertaining to read about. It is a bit of a slow burn, but that is something I often enjoy in a thriller. I want to care about the characters when things start happening to them and getting to spend a lot of time with them meant that I did.

I was able to guess some plot points pretty early on but others kept me guessing all the way to the reveals. The end was fast-paced, a little unbelievable, but, again, just a really fun read. I would definitely recommend this one.

Really enjoyed this thriller and like the title says it’s over five nights. Loved the setting on a cruise ship! Brilliant twists and turns.

This was an amazing book and I loved every minute of it. I would hihgly recommend this to anyone who likes mystery, murder, and tantalising twists. I liken this to an Agatha Christie novel set in modern times with an easy to read lovely writing style. The Scarmados family were all so well described and even with the nasty ones it was easy to like them and understand their emotions. As a who done it mystery I was very near the end before I decided on the murderer but I certainly did not figure out the scheming plot that made that person commit the murders.
The plot was set upon a VIP cruise and as it was so fast paced I just read it in one day as I did not want to put it down until the end. Belle had married into one crazy family with so many issues that she had to ask her old friend Emily to join her as she was frightened that someone would try to kill her.. I loved the fact that throughout the story of present day there was also entwined the story about the last tme that the two girls had been in contact and why they had lost that friendship.
Fantastic read, wonderful author and I wil look out for more books by Rachel from now on.
