Elle grew up in foster homes, moved from one to another until she is finally taken in by Irene, who became her substitute mother. When she reaches her 30th birthday she finally decides to try to track down her birth mother.
I always look forward to a new book in the Love Heart Lane series, it certainly sounds like a wonderful place to live - except maybe the Scottish weather. The story covers how difficult it can be to grow up in foster homes and how a settled and loving home can make all the difference. For the romance side Elle is the Head librarian and is very quiet, unlike her friend Pippa, but did find a certain spark with a visiting author, although she didn't follow up afterwards, but things may charge. There are some sad moments, but the overall feel of the book is very positive and heartwarming and is an ideal winter read.
I received an advance copy of this book from the publisher through Netgalley, however this did not influence my review of the book.

I challenge you not to fall in love with Christie's gorgeous Love Heart Lane series. The next book in the series is a book that touches with my heart with the core meaning in it. Growing up as a foster child and her search for her birth mum, Ellie's story s one of friendship, old flames and surprising infulences that sees this beautiful character learning about who she is right now and learning about who really cares about you.

I'm going to be sad to say goodbye to Love Heart Lane but I'm looking forward to reading the final book in this wonderful series.

The Library on Love Heart Lane tells Elle's, the librarian, story. She is thirty, she has a good job, some great friends, a sweet foster mum. This year she is determined to find her real mother in order to finally know where she comes from and why she was abandoned.

This is a nice, entertaining read, with the addition of a moving underlay.

The setting of this story is wonderful, I love small villages and their close-knit communities, and the characters lovely.

Elle is an independent woman, but she always plays safely in her little world, so it was interesting to see her so resolute in the search of her mother even risking to be disappointed by what she could find. On the romantic side her infatuation for a famous author is a little naif but still endearing.

It's been a long time since I read a Christie Barlow novel but her writing is still fluid and pleasant as I remembered.

I can recommend this book, the storyline is easy to follow and the ending warms your heart.

Elle is about to turn 30 and her life seems great - she's turned herself around with the help of her foster mum, Irene, and has her dream job running the library in the new shopping area in Heartcross, alongside her ditzy and fashion-mad but kind assistant Pippa and new assistant Aiden. But she's always wondered about her birth mother and now it's time to start the search. She has other things to think about, too, having had a one-off romantic encounter with a writer but never found the courage to get in touch with him.

There are a few mysteries - Elle's mum, who on earth got her that special birthday present, some twists and one really sad bit about baby loss which probably needs a content warning though is, of course, sensitively done. Yes, the love story is a tiny bit too good to be true but actually the main plot is about Elle's self-discovery and self-confidence and the bond with Irene and Pippa.

My review will appear on my blog on 11 December https://librofulltime.wordpress.com/2023/12/11/book-review-christie-barlow-the-library-on-love-heart-lane/

Oh my goodness! This is my first book by this author (I didn’t realize it was part of a series) and what a lovely, feel good read! Great characters and an emotional story. I loved it. Will definitely read more by this author.

Another delightful novel from Barlow, who knows just how to tug at your heart. Ellie, now 30, has always wondered about her birth family and now she's looking for them. Set in a small Scottish village (fans of the Heartcross books will be happy for a return there, although this is just as enjoyable as a standalone), it all about how we help one another. Ellie is a librarian, she's got Pippa as a BFF and a foster mom who is happy to help her. No spoilers from me but know that there is a small twist. Thanks to Netgalley for the ARC. A good read.

I absolutely loved reading Elle's story. A heartwarming story about Elle, on her 30th birthday, setting out to find her birth mother. Already surrounded by good friends and an absolutely adorable mother who was very supportive in Elle's need to find out where she came from. How very difficult that must have been for her but she supported Elle every step of the way. A wonderful story of love, support and friendship. It was a real page turner.

Such a well written book, full of the normal every day life that people lead with all the strands beautifully woven together. The day to day activities of working in a library, dating, writing and meeting with friends and family are described in lovely detail and I felt I was living alongside Elle and feeling her pain, joy and tears. The search for her biological family is the undercurrent that bubbles over and the surprises as everything gets unpicked are just right. A real 10/10 from me.

Thanks to the Publisher and Netgalley for an early review copy.

I have thoroughly enjoyed reading each and every book in this series.

We meet Elle, who is a librarian, and throughout her life, she’s felt like there’s been a piece of her life missing.

After spending her younger life in foster care she grew up in foster care, then being adopted, she’s never known who her parents were or what happened and where they are now.

But, as she nears her 30th birthday, Ellie feels like it’s now time to find that part that’s missing.

The characters were all lovable. The story covered some issues the readers will relate to, as well as romance.

I highly recommend this book.

I cannot believe this is book 13 in the love heart lane series and i will be sad when the series comes to an end as these books just keep getting better and better and I know when I pick one up I won’t be able to put it down. This story was extra special as it also centred around books and a library two more of my favourite things from one of my favourite authors of all time.

This instalment as always was full of engaging and relatable characters and covered real life issues in a sensitive way. This was a moving read and like receiving a hug in book form. It introduces us to the story of Elle the librarian at e library on love heart land and also to Adrian who comes to work at the library as well as other inhabitants making an appearance.

This was the perfect escapism read and am already looking forward to the next instalment in this series.

Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher HarperCollins UK for this book.
Expected publication date: 31st December 2023

The book is set in the Scottish village of Love Heart Lane. It is part of a series, but can easily be read as a stand alone novel.

The setting is peaceful and comforting. The characters are realistic and the book is fast moving.

The main characters are Elle and her roommate, Pippa.

The book has some.if my faves; the library, a mystery, and love stories!

Highly recommend

I'm a big fan of Christie Barlow! I've read many of her books and I'm always excited when a new one comes out. I'm not sure if I've read the others in this series, but this story works just as well as a standalone book. I always enjoy stories centered around libraries and books because, well, I wouldn't be writing this review if I didn't love reading! I thought it was a sweet story about life in a small town and a reminder that you don't always know what people have gone through. I was pleasantly surprised by the father twist at the end as I had been able to tell who the mum was before it was revealed, and I enjoy a surprise!

Overall it's a lovely story, but there was something missing for me to bump it up to a 4*.

I have thoroughly enjoyed reading all of the books from the Heartcross series and this one did not disappoint. There is such a good feel good factor reading these stories but at the same time the author gets to grip with more serious issues. Recommended.

Another fun story in Heartcross. Predictable but sweet with a nice love story as Elle looks for her birth mom. I enjoyed this quick read.

Thank you Netgalley and HarperCollins UK for this ARC

Elle and Noah had a cute story that warmed my heart!
It was a feel good, low angst read that I would recommend to others!

I didn’t realize this was part of a series, so this is the only one I read! I’ll definitely have to try the others.

Whan an absolute treat to visit Heartcross again and this time to meet the wonderful characters from the library on Love Heart Lane, Elle and Noah have a great future together and I can't wait to visit Heartcross again

This book is part of the excellent Love Heart Lane series, but it also works as a stand-alone read. Elle has grown up in care and never really felt she fitted in anywhere until recently. After her 30th birthday she feels it is time to finally trace her roots and this moving story tells how she achieves this with the support of her friends and foster mum.
While this book is very moving there are also lots of comedy moments to enjoy as well.

Exactly what I'd expect from a Christie Barlow novel - a stunning setting, cute characters and heart-warming romance. I loved it! A light, quick and pure escapist read.

As ever, Christie Barlow tackles some sensitive and tough issues but in a gentle way.

Although it is part of a series, it is easily read as a standalone too.
