It’s taken me twelve KMod books but I finally almost sort of not really figured out the ending! Okay, I didn’t. But what I absolutely love about these books is that no matter how crazy a theory I come up with, something crazier always happens and it makes total sense still. The signs are all there and I breeze straight by them looking for the big reveal, the big twist in all the wrong places. One day, maybe I’ll learn. Likely not.

KMod thrives writing characters you love to hate and this set was no exception. They were brutal, despicable, immoral, and downright cruel. They spared no one a second thought while working to achieve their ends and cover up their secrets, except maybe John, yet he was collateral damage all the same. The poor kid is gonna need some major therapy and maybe a lobotomy after this nightmare.

The narrators were great, as they always are with Dreamscape and Kiersten Modglin. I love how expressive they are and they brought the book straight to life from start to finish.

I’m thrilled to find out that there is a companion novel and couldn’t press “buy now” on my kindle quick enough. I’ve never read Emerald O’Brien but I’m fascinated by this cowriting/world-building process and if she’s anything like KMod, I can feel a new binge coming on.

Kiersten Modglin strikes again with this winner of a thriller. That ending had my head spinning. I highly recommend this audiobook.

One thing about Modglin's thrillers is that all of her characters have a complex and sometimes shady past. This book is no different. This is about Olivia, who begins a full time nanny job for the Lockes. The Lockes are a very wealthy and powerful family that run a security business.
We quickly learn that no one is who they say they are.

I love that we learn some secrets quickly but the author slowly peels back other secrets. This book came with twists and turns as each truth is revealed.

I didn't want to put this book down! And the ending...bittersweet.

The Nanny's Secret (Locke Industries) was a great read by Kiersten Modglin. Olivia Mendes is a nanny for the prestigious Locke family. She has secrets and in her new job, learns how powerful secrets can be. Orrick and Iris Locke are the owners of the billion-dollar security company known as Locke Industries. Olivia quickly discovers that everything is not what it seems. Their empire is built on dark and terrifying truths and even Olivia has a role to play. She gets tangles in the Lockes' web of lies which leads her to begin to question everything she's learned. I enjoyed reading this book and cant wait to read more by the author.

This one was unfortunately a rough read. The first 25% failed to captivate me at all and I had to DNF it. The characters were all unlikable and unrelatable and I wasn't interested in where the story was going.

"In this installment of the standalone Locke Industries series, The Nanny’s Secret may be the one to destroy everything…"

I didn't realize that this book was part of a series. There are two books in the Locke Industries series (both can be read as a standalone) and the other book is The Assistant's Secret written by Emerald O'Brien - which I added to my TBR.
This book is told in multiple POV's as we following Olivia (the Nanny) and her employers Orrick and Iris Locke. As we switch between the POV's we slowly realize that the Locke's are hiding some big secrets. Olivia's storyline focuses mostly in digging up the Locke's secrets, while Orrick and Iris work to keep them buried. The story is fast moving. I was so focused on trying to put the pieces together that I didn't see the twist coming and then - bam! - another twist.
If you enjoy a twisty thriller, this is the one for you - so well done.

Thank you to @netgalley and @dreamscape_media for the gifted copy of this book.

Holy snikes!!! I’ve read a lot of this author and I think this just might be my favorite! It was so psychologically twisted. I couldn’t put it down!!!!

I’m still working my through Kiersten Modglin’s books and was happy to find this one on audio. It was a fast paced read that the narrators did a great job with, and I enjoyed very much. This was my first read in the Locke Industries Series, and it was quite a ride. You may think it is a typical nanny finds a perfect family story but nope it is not, and all I can say is WHAT AND ENDING! I love it when an author does not hold back and blows your mind, and this is why she has quickly become one of my favorites. It is a one sitting read that I definitely recommend you pick up, and like I said, the audio is excellent as well.

Thank you to Dreamscape Media for the ALC to review.

Olivia has secured a job as a Nanny with the owners of Locke Industries. Locke industries is a billion dollar security company. And from the outside, Orrick and Iris Locke look like the perfect couple with the perfect family. It does not take Olivia long to figure out that there are terrifying secrets surrounding this company and this family.

This author has become a go to for me. I love the fast pace and the twists that are thrown into her stories. And this tale is no different, even though this novel moved a bit slower than her others. I knew this was building towards a turning point. And boy did it deliver!

I have not read the others in the Locke Industries series. But, after reading about these characters, I am going to have to investigate! They are intriguing and secretive…a wonderful combination.

The narrators, Frankie Corzo, Cassandra Campbell, Tim Campbell were the perfect blend!

Need a wicked tale…THIS IS IT! Grab your copy today!

I received this novel from the publisher for a honest review.

Review of The Nanny’s Secret by Kiersten Modglin

Huge thank you to netgalley and the publisher for the listening copy of the song. As usual for this authors this was a very quick read for me, and I listened to it in just a little over a day. I enjoyed the narrator and the story, and would recommend the audiobook. It was a fun story, but I did predict a lot of the twists in this one so it’s definitely not going to go down as one of my favorites by this author . But it was enjoyable, nonetheless.

Synopsis:

Olivia Mendes has a secret.
With her new position as a nanny for the prestigious Locke family, she’s learning just how powerful secrets can be.

Orrick and Iris Locke, owners of the billion-dollar security company known as Locke Industries, are beautiful, mysterious, and seemingly perfect. When she enters their home, Olivia quickly discovers everything is not what it seems. The Lockes’ elusive empire is built on dark and terrifying truths and with Olivia now a part of their lives, she has no choice but to play her role.

As she finds herself digging deeper into the Lockes’ web of lies, Olivia begins to question everything she’s learned. When the family’s insidious nature is revealed, her loyalties will be put to the ultimate test.

Another great thriller by this author! I'm a sucker for a nanny thriller but this one was outside the box. It makes you question, when you think you see the picture....do you really see the entire picture?? This book has a shocking ending that will leave you stunned. Be prepared.

The Nanny’s Secret
By Kiersten Modglin

I am a big fan on KMod and I love all of her stories.
This one is a great story just like the rest.

Olivia is the new nanny for the wealthy Locke family. Everyone has secrets, the Lockes, Orrin and Iris as well as the new nanny, Olivia. Will these secrets be the end to end all?
I loved this thriller and would highly recommend this to anyone. I would write more but I’d don’t want to give anything away.
Again, thank you for the ARC.

I wasn't aware that this book was a standalone thriller in a two part series, but after reading this book, I am definitely going to go back and read the other book. I'm interested in seeing where that story will go.

This book kept my attention from the beginning. I was coming up with theories left and right while reading, trying to anticipate where this story was going to go. There were several twists in this book that I didn't see coming.

The ending absolutely took me out. I was not expecting that at all. I had full body chills and my mouth was hanging open in shock for several minutes after I finished, trying to process everything.

I listened to the audio version of this book, narrated by Frankie Corzo, Cassandra Campbell and Tim Campbell. I wasn't as big of a fan of the male narrator as the female narrators. In my opinion, he sounded older than the character he was portraying, so it threw me off a little. All of the narrators did a great job in their performance though, bringing each of the characters to life.

"The Nanny's Secret" by Kiersten Modglin was an okay read for me. As with all of Modglin's books, it was entertaining, but it didn't quite stand out as something special when compared to her other works. It's certainly worth a read if you're a fan of the author's style, but it's not one that I would particularly recommend over some of her other captivating titles.

However, I did find myself fully engaged in the story, and it still maintained a fast-paced tempo throughout. Where it fell a bit flat for me was in its focus. It seemed like we were stuck in a portion of the narrative that I would have preferred to be smaller, which hindered the overall experience. There were some exciting revelations towards the end of the book, but they didn't carry as much impact as I'd hoped because they were unfolding in the background without our prior knowledge. I would have been more interested in delving deeper into the motivations of the main character, which would have added a layer of complexity to the story.

In the Nanny’s Secret we follow Olivia while she navigates the “complicated” family dynamics of Iris and Orrick Locke. There are as with any Kiersten Modglin novel so many twists and turns that you are surprises every chapter. The audio was well done with a great cast of characters. I have really enjoyed diving into this one.

This is my audiobook review of another wonderful suspenseful and always crazy good novel by Keirsten Modglin. The Nanny's Secret was narrated by Frankie Corzo, Cassandra Campbell and Tim Campbell. I really don’t need to say much about these three because I’ve heard so many other audiobooks by them, but just so everybody knows I thought they were excellent. They told a compelling story that kept me on the edge of my seat. It was entertaining to say the least and I definitely suggest listening to this as an audiobook and hope you enjoyed as much as me.

Kiersten Modglin Is DEF a go-to thriller author for me and The Nanny’s Secret (I did the Audiobook) did not disappoint!!

First off, there’s Orrick and Iris Locke. They are a very influential couple and you cross the Lockes? You might not live to see another day. Their nanny, Olivia is hired to look after their son, John and she truly LOVES her job! Ummmm until she realizes this isn’t the job she signed up for. Secrets are EVERYWHERE and Olivia’s might just be the most mind-blowing to date. Need I say more?? Read (or listen) yourself to find out!!

Also? The narrator! Nailed the characters and is DEF a name I’ll be looking out for!!

Thank you NetGalley and Dreamscape Media for a copy of this ALC!
