Perhaps I have read too many books lately about nannies and the families they work for. I found this book to be very contrived and unoriginal...it's the same story as the others. I did not find the writing to be well done, and the characters are uninteresting and not well developed.

This book was very twisted, entertaining, and a quick read. Unfortunately, I was able to guess what was going to happen, but the plot was still entertaining. I really enjoyed the way that this story was written, with multiple POVs and timelines. I also loved that the POVs were all in first person, which is sometimes hard to find for thrillers about multiple characters. I would have liked a little bit more from the ending and to find out more about what happened. I loved Kiersten Modglins writing style, so I would definitely try another triller from her. The audiobook was also fantastic, with multiple great narrators. Overall, I enjoyed it and it was a fun read, just a little bit predictable.

Thanks NetGalley for the ARC of this audiobook. I thought this book was cleaver and I loved all the twists and development of the plot. I wanted more of this book once the ending happened. I was hoping for an epilogue of some kind, I thought all the characters were great and the narrators were really good too.

ARC audiobook provided in exchange for an honest review.

I really loved how they have three different narrators for each of the main characters! They all fit the images in my mind perfectly and it was very easy to listen to in a day! The story is about a very rich family that hires a new nanny for their son and slowly everyone’s secrets are revealed. I felt the pacing of the story was great and all the twists and turns made my head spin! Definitely a five star read for me and if you like psychological thrillers be sure to read this one!

The Nanny’s Secret was engaging from start to finish, full of Kiersten Modglin’s signature twists and suspense. I just wish there had been at least one sympathetic character to connect with, I think the story would have been elevated to at least a 4 star read if so, and maybe more.

An enjoyable enough breezy summer read. The audiobook was perfectly narrated by Frankie Corzo, Cassandra Campbell, and Tim Campbell.

Thank you Kiersten Modglin, Dreamscape Media, and NetGalley for providing this ALC for review consideration. All opinions expressed are my own.

A good easy read, likeable characters, but feel like I've read the storyline before didn't feel fresh and new. Was still a good book but just missing the new storyline factory imo. I also didn't care for so many narrator's but that's just my opinion. Was not a hate but not a love or wow book.

My first of many Kiersten Modglin books. I’ve heard such great things about her writing, and this book didn’t disappoint!
The audio was fantastic - 5 stars

The book is about a Nanny, Olivia, who is taking care of an 8 year old for a very well known, “perfect” couple. I did figure out many of the twists, which was okay because I still thoroughly enjoyed the story. The last page though, really got me! 😭

Thank you NetGalley for the ARC!

Audio - 5 stars!
Book - 4 stars

Kiersten always writes jaw dropping popcorn thrillers. I have enjoyed so many of her books and this one is no different.
As always that last page got me. Honestly though I wish it was different 😭.
The audio was done really well with the 3 different narrators to help separate the povs.
I really enjoyed this one

Thank you for this ALC, all thoughts and opinions are my own.

Thanks to Netgalley and the publisher for an advanced copy of the audio book in exchange for an honest review!
Kiersten Modglin is one of my favorite psychological thriller authors so I knew this would be good when I requested it. This story is about the owners of a security company (Locke Industries) hiring a nanny to take care of their 8 year old son. This book may be titled The Nanny's Secret, but literally every character is full of secrets and quick to tell lies in order to protect them. There were a ton of twists throughout the book and one really big one at the end. It did not disappoint!
I enjoyed all 3 nararators, and I am so glad each of the different POVs had their own nararator. It helps keep the story organized in my opinion. Definitely recommend for anyone who likes a fast paced twisty story!

Despite its predictability, I found this book to be a enjoyable popcorn thriller, perfect for a short escape during a workday. While there were certainly plot holes that required some suspension of belief, that's precisely what these books are meant for—to whisk us away from reality.

The story revolves around Olivia, the nanny, who quickly becomes embroiled in the Lockes' lives, observing their frantic efforts to deal with the consequences of a job gone wrong. However, Olivia is not without her own secrets. As the plot unfolds, we question her true motives for being there in the first place.

The narrative is skillfully presented from multiple points of view and dual timelines, contributing to its fast pace and engaging nature. While there were no major surprises, I still found it to be an enjoyable way to spend the day, captivated by the unfolding events.

The audiobook's narration was well done, adding to the overall experience of the story.

I extend my gratitude to Macmillan Audio and NetGalley for providing me with an advance copy of this audiobook in exchange for my honest review.

I don't know what to say... I had a review ready to go while listening to the last few minutes of this audiobook but I have since been stunned into silence. This is definitely one of my favorite KMod books to date, just wild, insane, twisty fun with a smidgen of spice and a crap ton of betrayal.

A couple of the twists I probably should have seen coming, but that's my favorite part of KMod's writing. She is so good at dangling red herrings and distracting you, that the twists jump out and scare you. The Nanny's Secret was no different and I missed some major clues while getting wrapped up in the story. I loved it.

As per usual, I hated practically everyone in this book with a passion. They were all just so vile and narcissistic and possibly legitimately insane. John was probably the only bright spots as far as morality went... And I can't imagine he continues to grow up that way.

That ending though. Wow. I don't think I can wait for book 2 to release on audio and I may just read it on my kindle instead. This is a complete standalone, but we get more from Locke Industries and I need it like I need my next breath.

Whenever I read a Kiersten Modglin book it is either hit or miss and with The Nanny Secret from The Lock Industries Series is a definite hit I mean she smashed it! This is why I always pick books written by her because when she is on top of her game she is the queen of thrillers! Olivia Ramirez is the nanny to the locks eight-year-old son John she is also mourning the loss of her fiancé Danny. On her first day Iris lock interviewed her and it wouldn’t be till the next day that she met Orick, he is the owner of lock industries in the husband to Iris live is taken aback at how handsome and personable he is somethings she is going to use to her advantage they say there’s no hell like a woman scorned and Olivia has been scorned and someone has to pay but who will it be. There is so much I want to say but so much I cannot because it would give too much away and OMG Olivia has an ulterior motive and things worked out for her in the worst way or depending on how you look at it maybe the best way. I thought Tim and Cassandra cambell did wonderful jobs narrating this book I found Tim had a commanding voice that fit perfectly with Oric lock Cassandra had the perfect voice for Iris lock with her hoity attitude and I thought Frankie Corso did a fabulous Olivia Ramirez and they all had such perfect character distinction which makes this a top-notch audiobook to listen to. No matter which one was narrating the book you could tell who was talking in the emotion they were trying to evoke. This was a great book and one I highly recommend. I want to thank Net Galley and Dream skate media for my free arc copy please forgive any mistakes as I am blind and dictate my review.

Although this was a pretty predictable popcorn thriller, I still enjoyed the ride. It was short and I was able to listen to it in one day while I worked and, yes, you have to suspend belief because there’s plenty of plot holes but that’s what these books are for-to escape reality.
Olivia arrives at the home of Iris Locke, who happens to own a successful security company with her husband Orrick, and they are looking for a nanny for their son John. She’s hired on the spot and soon her life is deeply intertwined with theirs. While she’s watching Johnny, she notices that the Lockes are frantically trying to mitigate the damages from a job that’s gone wrong. But the Lockes aren’t he on,y one trying to do damage control-Olivia is hiding things too. Why did she really come there in the first place?
Told from multiple POV and from dual timelines, this is fast paced and although no real surprises, it still wasn’t a bad way to spend the day.
The narration was well done as well

There is one common theme among all (almost 40) Kiersten Modglin books - they go by quickly. This is my 15th Modglin book and I don't think any of them have taken more than a single day to finish. Lucky for the reader that she pushes out books like Pizza Hut pushes out pizzas.

The Nanny's Secret is an interesting story in that there was not a single character I liked. In fact, hate, would be the appropriate descriptor for all the main characters. I disliked the "relationship" between nanny and dad and every time the two of them were together, I wanted bad things to happen to them. So, I'm guessing, for a domestic thriller, any emotion works and Modglin wrote a novel where vitriol between reader and story kept me listening.

And, per the norm of the genre, the big secret at the end was unexpected and a nice surprise.

As to the audio portion of the review - loved the two female narrators, Frankie Corzo and Cassandra Campbell, but Tim Campbell fell short for me. Unsure if it was the actor's choice or the production staff, but his deep, overly dramatic delivery grated on the nerves.

KM books always just suck me in and I can't stop reading (or listening in this case).

I feel like with her books I always *think* I know the twist, but I never know the twist.

A bunch of mostly unlikeable characters - everyone lies, has secrets, cheats.

Olivia takes a job as a nanny for the wealthy Locke family. She is there to uncover their secrets and expose them, but has a few secrets of her own! A twisty tale! Enjoyed the audio!

Many thanks to NetGalley and Dreamscape Media for an ALC in exchange for my honest review.

Just when I think I know what is happening in Kiersten Modglin's books... BAM! Plot twist. I loved The Nanny's Secret. It was twisty, chaotic in the best ways and left me guessing. I did not see that ending coming! Thank you for another opportunity to to entertained by this amazing author!

First off, OH MY GOSH! I'm starting with the ending because it aboslutely blew my mind. 🤯 The story had me hooked from the beginning with plenty of intrigue. In Kiersten Modglin style, there's plenty of mystery, lies, secrets, twists and an ending to make you say "whaaaaaat"! The only thing I didn't like was the male narrator. The story made up for it though.

Thank you to NetGalley, Kiersten Modglin and Dreamscape Media for an ALC in exchange for an honest review.

Orin and Iris Locke own a multi-billion-dollar security company. From all outward appearances, they are the perfect couple, the perfect family. But the newly hired nanny, Olivia, gets to see beyond the facade to the rot that festers beyond the perfect smiles and designer clothes. I enjoyed the mystery is this novel, but the characters were truly detestable, making it hard to empathize with any of them

WOW! This was one fast paced, twisty thriller that had me on the edge of my seat. The ending absolutely shocked me and thats what makes Kiersten Modglin books so good as at the end she always managers to surprise you. I was hoping for a different ending but really enjoyed the book.

Olivia gets offered a job to be a nanny for the Locke family. I may have keeled over when they said the pay was going to be $90,000 for watching one child. Orrick and Iris Locke are owners of a security company known as Locke Industries.

Olivia has secrets but so do the Locke's. Both Iris and Orrick were some truly awful people that have no redeeming qualities.

I really enjoyed the narrator, the different points of view and that I never knew what was going to happen next. Thats what makes this a great read.

Kiersten Modglin is a wonderful author and I’ve loved so many of her books. This one was pretty middle of the road for me though. I didn’t love any of the characters and a lot of it was predictable. I listened to the audio version and the narrators were perfect, especially Cassandra Campbell who is one of my favorite narrators. Highly recommend Kiersten’s books but maybe skip this one.
